Jul 08, 2025Good for family vacations
So let me start with saying we travel with a very high bar. In Mexico we have been to Secrets Maroma & Secrets Akumal (both adults only) and really enjoyed both. This time we decided to take the kids with us for a family vacation to Dreams. We booked private transfers with Amstar - which I would highly recommend. There is even an Amstar Staff on site for transfer services, excursions, tours, etc. But back to the hotel - the Dreams staff were absolutely AMAZING!! Everybody was so friendly and I was surprised when several remembered our names (or at least our faces) - with it being such a huge hotel! We of course tipped very well for everything - is it all inclusive, yes - but the staff work extremely hard & deserve to be tipped and shown appreciation. We probably tipped $750+ over the course of our 8 day / 7 night stay Also we tipped in USD - which was even accepted at gift shops. Next time I wouldn't take anything over a $20 bill - smaller bills were great. I feel the rooms were starting to look a little bit worn - nothing major, but not brand new like others we've visited. I was told that they will be renovating sometime after the Secrets (next door) renovations wrap up. The pools were lovely and the bali beds ended up being a favorite of mine along with the pool side service & drinks. We ate Sushi, Hibachi, Mexican, Seafood, and at the Buffet for breakfast - which were all great. My only complaint was the room service - I felt the options were a bit limited. Would LOVE to see additions made. At the Secrets they had pool side "Street" Style Taco stands, Pizza ovens, etc that rotated & you could order fresh made & snag them once your day at the pool wrapped up and head back to the room. Those were some of our favorites & freshly made!!! For instance the room service dessert options were Brownie or Corn Cake. Several nights we ordered room service and just needed some more options and fresh options - more salads, etc & just more flavor. That is truly our only complaint. Secrets are still our favorite - but with 15 & 16 year old boys we will be needing family options for the next few years. The only other mention is the beach - the beach is beautiful white sand. There was some seaweed in late June / early July, but nothing too bothersome. My boys found some great seashells in the late afternoon / early evening. Don't bother packing snorkel gear for right off the beach. I would recommend an excursion if you are wanting that. My boys did the Amstar whale shark excursion and had a great time! Be sure to take Meclizine beforehand. I gave them 1 the night before and 1 the morning of, about an hour before leaving and they were fine! They came back with amazing photos and video - but did say the water was a bit rough. Overall had a great trip!

My family of 11 people had a wonderful week. My 4 teenage grandsons found pool activities, the beach, and the various types of food available was enough to say the Resort was awesome. An excursion was arranged by the Resort for a 4 hour catamaran trip for snorkeling and just enjoying the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf.

Dreams get-away
Four days were a perfect get-away. We enjoyed the service at main pool with Herberth, and with Herberth and Joel at Sand Bar. Friendly and hospitable, good communications and very thoughtful of our every need.

Wedding Review
We had our wedding at Dreams Playa Mujeres and Iridian was so beyond amazing! We couldn't have asked for anything more, she made our dream wedding come to life. The staff was also amazing- we are very happy we chose Dreams for our big day!

Juanita, Adriana, Eunice(ice cream store, and David (arcade) were super friendly! Great customer service!!! The ladies working the ice cream shop were super kind and always had a smile when we walked in, didn't feel shamed for going in multiple times in one night😎😎😎😎, and David was super friendly, he helped my lil bro figure out the PS5 multiple times great people. Would honestly come back
