    Wonderful Family Vacation

After looking at a ton of resorts we settled on Dreams PM because of the beach reviews. Traveled with 2 kids, 7 and 10. We had a wonderful experience. The staff is amazing all around. The entertainment team kept us having fun all day and night. The beach and pool service was exceptional as well. Have no complaints at all and would love to come back in the future!

Realistic expectations = A Real Good Time

I am taking my time to write this review for other type A people like myself 😅 who want honest and ample details before they commit to flying your family and spending 7 days in a different country. Also, want to mention that none of us got sick. We drank all the water, drinks with ice, ate fresh fruits and salads. Is this an immaculate, best food of your life resort? No. Is this a gorgeous property with incredible food opportunities and amazing staff? 100%! Transportation to and from airport- Amstar private shuttle recommended by the hotel. Would definitely use again, safe drivers, easy to connect with, always on time. Rooms- beach view preferred club. Felt more secluded and quieter than other areas. Room was clean on arrival, beds were comfortable, pillows weren’t the best, AC worked great, shower water pressure and temp were good, housekeeping came and mini fridge restocked everyday, turn down service offered most nights. We spent most days at the Mermaid pool, which was perfect for our family (5 adults, 3 kids ages 4, 7, 12). Chairs were relatively easy to get, typically 1 umbrella to every four chairs, abundance of towels available. Bali beds by this pool were claimed every day before 7:00 so only got lucky one day when someone never showed up. RAUL was an amazing pool waiter and took such great care of us the entire time. The entertainment staff did a great job coming by throughout the day with activities and crafts. Shoutout to EDUARDO for being so fun and friendly! Kids’ water park and big water slides were a huge hit for the kids and adults. Spent one full day at the beach in preferred spot on a Bali bed. Much easier to get, also plenty of lounge chairs available. Staff was very attentive and bartender at the Hideaway was the best. There was seaweed, but nothing that kept you from getting into the ocean and enjoying the water. *Food* I am a food snob. I eat out a lot and typically all my vacations revolve around reservations and top restaurants. My expectations were low, but honestly in most instances, I was pleasantly surprised. I was skeptical of the buffet, but the World Cafe was honestly really good with so many options. Our favorite breakfast was at Maris, could eat chilaquiles everyday. RICARDO was our favorite waiter and always took excellent care of us. Best lunch options were either Maris (fish tacos, coconut shrimp) again for a sit down experience, any pop up pool side grill station (changes everyday), or toasted focaccia caprese sandwich from the Wrap spot. Dinner favs included Tres Colores (taco grill station, grilled pork belly, beef tostadas), Fusion (gyoza, spicy tuna roll, seafood wok rice), and L’Etoile (ahi tuna, French onion soup, lobster and crab crepe, short rib). A couple times a week, they hold a show and dinner in the main grassy area. You can buy a bottle of wine to reserve an upfront table (cheapest is around $60). Food is exactly the same for all of these events. Was lied to about this by employee pushing wine purchase/res and didn’t appreciate it. Worth it for one night for the fire show, but that’s it. Food Cons- room service quality was not good, just make the effort and go get something at a restaurant. Was not impressed by majority of pastries and desserts. Our kids wouldn’t even eat the cookies. Basically accept that you aren’t going to get a hibachi reservation. Maybe small groups have better luck? Sometimes the grilled food just depends on who is manning the grill. Scope it out, wait for an item if it looks like it needs more time or don’t ask for something that looks like it’s been sitting there too long. *Drinks* takes time to find the right bartender and right cocktail. Remember faces and names, ask for cocktail recommendations. Guava margaritas and caipirinhas were our favs. Took a couple shots that tasted like tequila, but very rarely could I actually taste booze in our drinks. Beers are all very light and sessionable. Honestly, probably the only way to catch a buzz without feeling like you’re drinking continuously is with wine. Take homes- do preferred club, eat at the restaurants and ask the waiters for recommendations, bring deflated pool floats, insulated bev cups/holders, and plenty of sunscreen, explorers club and core zone were hits with the kids, tip the staff!

    Great resort and great service

Jessica at the pool concierge was amazing! She was so helpful and attentive during our stay. We could count on her to help us. She was very responsive. We appreciate her and the other Dreams Team Members. We will be back for our next family vacation and refer our friends and family.

    Get rid of the preferred

Felix was the best entertainment, between soccer at the pool or archery on the range. The food was great but honestly was the best at the buffet and tides grill. The only thing that we thought was odd was the "preferred member". It sucked to not be able to use the lazy river (which was completely empty) or get a made to order breakfast at Maris
