I had a good experience at the Dreams onyx hotel; everithing was very clean and beautiful. However, l had a very unpleasant moment with the DJ, as he was playing music that very inappropriate for children .when l asked him to change it, he looked at me in a very unpleasant way and made rude gestures l don't uderstand why they have such unfriendly people providing service to families who come to enjoy time with their loved ones they should not have people like DJ Shelow.

This resort was absolutely fantastic! *Located about 45 minutes from the Punta Cana airport. The atmosphere was relaxing, every single employee we came in contact with was pleasant, welcoming, and an overly accommodating! The grounds and buildings are clean and well-maintained! The rooms were maybe slightly dated but clean and comfortable. *Our Butler Juan made our entire experience 100% better! He showed up every day with a smile on his face, happy and willing to go above and beyond, and ensure we had everything to make our visit extra special! Highly highly recommend paying for the preferred service - we never waited to be seated at a restaurant on any night, he made sure our mini bar in the room was stocked with everything we needed and liked (fully catered to us), and he booked every extra we requested on the day we requested it. *The Bali beds on the beach, as well as the private islands at the preferred pool are 100% worth the additional cost! The attendants do not skip a beat and ensure that you are well taken care of throughout the day. *shout out to Nelis, Ismael, and Peter (at the swim-up bar) truly the best and kindest individuals! *We ate at a good variety of the restaurants - some things were very good while others were lackluster, but I think you’ll find that at any resort. * one caution - though this did not affect us, we did hear some stories from people traveling with our group that you needed to pay close attention during check-in and check out, and make sure you’re asking questions before paying and signing any paperwork. With that being said the resort did a fantastic job checking in and checking out our large group of almost 550 people.

Very nice staff that are helpful especially the food concierge, he helped me alot because I had alot of food restrictions and had to eat specific food

Jan 28, 2026Don’t pay for the preferred status!
We are here now. Beautiful resort, food is good. Only big downfall is their “preferred” upgrade. We paid extra to get the preferred room status where we were told concierge/butler would take care of our every need. However, it’s been completely opposite. Our room hasn’t been turned down at night, we have seen our butler 1 brief moment, and he hasn’t done anything that I haven’t been able to do myself. He has made reservations for restaurants but when we arrive they don’t even ask room number or names and it appears we would have been just fine without these reservations. We were expecting to feel somewhat special with the upgrade, but that is not the case.

Excellent and Relaxing Vacation
Everything excellent! The food and drinks were delicious. Our butler, Elias, was super thoughtful and attentive. This was our second trip Dreams Onyx and we would definitely go back again!
