My husband and I stayed at Dreams Onyx Punta Cana for our honeymoon, we booked through Air Canada. We were told by an air Canada agent a special honeymoon gift would be arranged for us. When we arrived unfortunately nothing was set up when we got to our room. I was initially very disappointed and upset, but Rosely at reception was incredibly helpful—she apologized and explained that the request had not been informed to them by air Canada , I didnt know who to believe as air Canada mentioned they were sure to have added the request. Even though I had to follow up with Rosely a few times, the team eventually placed a honeymoon banner on our door and apologized for the delay and mentioned they can’t do more than that at this point. Set all that aside, the rest of our stay was amazing. The resort is beautiful, clean, and the staff truly made our trip special. The breakfast and lunch overall was good, but it was a bit hard to choose what we want to eat at times since I don’t eat pork and 90% of breakfast and lunch meals had some sort of pork or pork trace . I really wish there were more options for guests who don’t eat ham, bacon, or other pork products, but the Dinner restaurants were perfect and very delicious our favourite was CinCin and Bluewater Grill we made sure to each at these 2 spots once before we left. I want to give a special thank you to: • Miguel, Anthony, and Felix from the lazy river pool bar who kept the energy high. • Shadow & Symirlin from the entertainment team who were so much fun to be around and get to know. • Maria, who kept our room spotless and checked in multiple times a day • Edwin, our amazing beach waiter • Carlos, from breakfast buffet who was not only friendly but an amazing him throughout the trip. His smile is so contagious, we made sure to sit in his section every morning! • Rosely and Nelson at reception for their great service Overall, our honeymoon was amazing, and despite a few bumps, we genuinely enjoyed our stay at Dreams Onyx. I would absolutely recommend this resort—whether you’re a family or a couple, they have something for everyone! I would totally stay there again and again

Nov 28, 2025Dreamy stay at Dreams
We’re currently on day 12 of a 14-day trip from the UK. Overall, the resort has been excellent — spotless throughout, with genuinely friendly staff who go out of their way to help. The food has been very good, both at the buffet and the à-la-carte restaurants. I’ve experienced some stomach issues for about a week, which I suspect were caused by the ice rather than the food. The pool area is lovely, and the swim-up bar is a great touch. As for the beach, seaweed can be an issue, though the team works tirelessly to manage it — it’s a natural occurrence, so it’s to be expected. The gym is well equipped with plenty of cardio machines, resistance equipment, and free weights. Regarding tipping: it’s more common here than in the UK, similar to the US. We brought a supply of $1 bills and tip when we feel it’s deserved — there’s absolutely no pressure to do so. We didn’t book Preferred status and were offered an upgrade at a cost we couldn’t justify. In hindsight, we’re not convinced it would have added enough value, and would rather put that money toward another holiday in Europe. Our room is in Building 5 overlooking the wedding area. It’s spacious, well equipped, and the air-conditioning works brilliantly. Some people have commented on the bathroom layout, but realistically, how much time does one spend in there anyway? Our only real disappointment was the whirlpool bath, which looks a bit tired and not as clean as expected, and the balcony floor is extremely slippery when wet, so we’ve avoided using it. We’ve also taken advantage of the facilities at Breathless, which is adults-only, and that’s been a really nice perk. All in all, we’ve had a very good stay and would happily recommend Dreams. ⸻ If you want a slightly more formal, humorous, or concise version, just let me know!

Great family vacation, but room for improvement
Travelled here in November 2025 with my wife and toddler, as well as my parents. Overall we had a great stay but there were a few things that could've been better. Stayed in a swim out preferred club room. Pros: - Butler Josue was great and went above and beyond for us - This resort has billiards tables at the sports bar which was a huge plus for us - Plenty of beer - Great service from restaurant staff and room service Cons: - Two broken billiards tables at the theater, please fix those. Also need better supervision for the billiards tables, no one should be putting drinks on the table but we saw that multiple times and witnessed a spill - Need clamato juice, tomato juice is not great - A few sellers on the beach interfered with family time

Overall very disappointed. First off you will be accosted on your first day by Hyatt representatives trying to pressure you to buy a membership. A very frustrating way to spend your first morning at the resort. Food was not great, or consistent in quality. There is a high expectation for tips. Our room needed quite a few repairs or improvements eg. Fridge not cold, tv didn't work, wifi didn't work, shower head needed replacing, fan didn't always work and the outdoor spa was disgusting and dirty. The staff were ok (except for the expected tipping). The pools were fine. We will not return, and won't recommend to friends or family.
