⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceeds a Five-Star Experience This resort didn’t just meet expectations—it surpassed them in every possible way. From the moment we arrived, everything felt elevated: the location, atmosphere, immaculate cleanliness, room quality, exceptional value, and above all—the service. The service deserves its own spotlight. It genuinely felt butler-level, yet we were in a standard room category (Swim up room) Every interaction was warm, intuitive, and proactive—staff anticipated needs before we even had to ask. As seasoned, hard-to-impress travelers, we couldn’t find a single thing to critique. The amenities are top-tier. The beach is absolutely spectacular, the pool layouts are stunning and thoughtfully designed, and the lazy river and slides felt like a private oasis—perfectly balanced between relaxation and fun. As bodybuilders the gym had above basic equipment to hit each muscle group adequately Food and drinks were exceptional across the board, easily rivaling high-end resorts we’ve stayed at globally. And the Coco Café? Hands down some of the best coffee I’ve ever had while traveling—a daily non-negotiable. We traveled in December and was some of the best weather we have had in a Caribbean destination during this time of year!

The staff was AMAZING. The beach was not amazing, the waves were massive, not for folks who don't know how to swim or little kids. Luckily we all know how to swim but I did expect more calm waters - not the case. The food was not very good. I try not to be picky but the taste just wasn't there. The rooms were great and the resort was clean. The beach was not as clean but that was becasue the tourists dont clean up after themselves and leave their crap on the beach! The staff cannot be cleaning up after the mess left by dirty people. Overall, I would certainly recommend but dont expect over the top food.

Best Resort Yet!
The resort was fantastic! Everything you could imagine and more. But I want to give a shout out to Felix, our bartender at the upper Splash Pool bar. He was amazingly friendly and always anticipated what we needed to enjoy the pool side! We need bartenders like him in Canada!

Excellent Vacation
We went to Dreams Onyx from December 15 to 22 and had a wonderful vacation. We enjoyed every aspect of this resort. The food, drinks, beach and especially the lazy river. I would not hesitate to visit again. If you go, seek out Felix at the pool bar (upper bar) as we enjoyed visiting him daily as he made us great drinks!

Unforgettable Wedding Week Made Exceptional by Service, One Notable Misstep
My wife and I stayed at Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa for seven nights while hosting our entire wedding room block here, approximately 94 guests in total. We stayed in a Preferred Club Junior Suite with a Private Pool, and without hesitation, I can say this resort delivered an unforgettable wedding week. What truly sets this property apart is its people and the level of service provided by the majority of the on-site team. Albert, our butler, was an absolute standout and the single biggest reason our stay exceeded expectations. He is kind, thoughtful, attentive, and remarkably proactive. Albert consistently anticipated our needs before we ever had to ask. From securing dining reservations, to navigating resort logistics, to helping with pool floaties and countless small but meaningful details, he went far beyond what anyone would reasonably expect. Many of our requests were handled early in the morning or late at night, often outside of his scheduled hours, and he never once complained or suggested inconvenience. His responsiveness, care, and professionalism elevated our entire stay and made a stressful wedding week feel seamless. Adamelsi also deserves special recognition. She maintained our room with incredible pride and attention to detail. Our suite was immaculate at all times, not a grain of sand out of place. Beyond her exceptional work, she greeted us daily with the warmest smile. During a week filled with moving parts and emotions, her consistency and kindness provided a genuine sense of calm. Henry was another bright spot. He went above and beyond in restocking beverages and snacks and made every interaction feel personal and upbeat. His energy and attention made our stay even more enjoyable. Albert, Adamelsi, and Henry played an essential role in making our wedding week truly unforgettable, and they represent the very best of this resort. It is important for future guests, particularly wedding groups, to understand that Dreams Onyx does not offer day passes unless you are a bride or groom of a wedding and your wedding is being held on property. Because our wedding was hosted at an off-site venue (Kukua Beach Club), this exception did not apply. Unfortunately, this distinction was not clearly communicated to us earlier in the planning process, which led us to share inaccurate information with our guests for months leading up to the wedding. As a result, several of our guests who were staying at nearby resorts attempted to purchase day passes and experienced significant stress and confusion throughout the process. These attempts required repeated conversations and escalations, pulling them away from time with loved ones during two of the most important moments of our wedding week, our rehearsal dinner and post-wedding celebrations. Despite the effort made, time lost, and emotional strain during what should have been joyful occasions, they were ultimately rejected and turned away without being allowed to purchase day passes. Our interaction with Kaira Pimentel, Assistant Manager, was the complete opposite of the service we experienced everywhere else on property. There was no empathy, no effort to understand the situation, and no acknowledgment of the confusion caused. The response felt dismissive and rigid, lacking any sense of hospitality or customer care. While policies are policies, the tone and delivery matter, especially when working with a large wedding group that contributed a substantial number of room nights to the resort. In an already stressful moment, this interaction added unnecessary frustration and stood in stark contrast to the warmth shown by nearly every other team member. Thankfully, this was the only blemish on an otherwise outstanding experience. The exceptional service provided by the broader on-property team far outweighed this isolated issue, hence the 5-star review. Overall, Dreams Onyx delivered a wedding week we will cherish forever, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
