Our stay at Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa exceeded expectations from start to finish. As a family managing food allergies, we were genuinely impressed by how attentive and proactive the staff was. They took my gluten allergy and my son’s nut allergy seriously at every restaurant, communicated clearly, and made dining completely stress-free—something that is not easy to find at all-inclusive resorts. The staff across the resort was phenomenal: friendly, fun, energetic, and always willing to help with a smile. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do, and it shows in every interaction. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing a relaxing place to unwind after a full day. The beach was another huge highlight—secure, peaceful, and refreshingly free from constant vendor interruptions, which made it easy to fully relax and enjoy the ocean. This resort strikes the perfect balance between fun and relaxation while still being thoughtful, safe, and welcoming for families with special dietary needs. We felt cared for, comfortable, and completely at ease the entire time. We would absolutely return and highly recommend Dreams Onyx to anyone—especially those traveling with food allergies.

Excellent family fun!
The hotel was cleaned regularly. Our butler Ares met all of our needs. Our 11 year old son was never bored. Between the activities, the arcade for rainy days, the pool and the water park, there was always something for him to do which made our lives much easier. We were able to comfortably relax.

Overall Excellent Experience
Dreams onyx PC Check-in - super fast and easy. Food - for a fee you can get Halal. Pre-arrange before arrival. Zunilda took care of me & my husband everyday. She made arrangements at every restaurant for lunch & dinner. She made sure the chef & waitstaff knew of my food restrictions along with alcohol free food & desserts. She was very knowledgeable punctual professional & super kind. She is definitely an asset to DREAMS. Each restaurant was very good. Check-out - I was disappointed that they didn’t give a three hour extended late checkout because we were not. “ preferred members” we met a couple from Montreal on the beach who were also not preferred, but their room was extended for them without a fee. Rooms - I was in building 7. Buildings 5-6-7 are newer & very clean. Comfortable & big! We had the ground floor pool view with a jacuzzi tub. Very nice. The building is located just steps away from all the restaurants. Gym & beach. Housekeeping- very inconsistent- 1st day they left me 4 bath towels 4 face towels 2 hand towels and a bathmat - 2nd day they left me 2 bath towels 3 face towels 2 hand towels and a bathmat 3rd day - 1 bath towels 2 face towels 2 hand towels and no bathmat. Day 4 - 3 bath towels 2 face towels 2 hand towels and a bathmat AND they came back at night to clean again put water at our night stand. (Very nice) but only 1 day. Room fridge is the same inconsistency- we asked for NO beer - only still & sparkling water. That happened only 1 day! Public bathrooms - well this needs complete separate section to write about. I have traveled to many resorts over the years. I must say that their public bathrooms are constantly clean and refilled. Entertainment- great shows and super friendly people. Loads of activities during the day and at night. Music kids activities games arcades casino and dancing. Something for everyone & every age! Preferred section is truly worth it. Just outstanding landscaping pools & extras. Beach - tons of lounges and beach towels. There are a few servers walking around the beach at all times. Super kind & always suggesting to make special drinks. Staff is always cleaning the beach. Hardly any seaweed on the beach. Soft sand. Great for walks. Too many local solicitors 😞 even when you are sleeping they will wake you up. A bit frustrating. Spa - OMG I got one of the best deep tissue massage by Rosie. A bit expensive but worth it! Gym- 2 story state-of-the- art equipment Restaurants - conveniently located all together in one area lots of variety and of course, the buffet is always available. Breakfast - buffet tons and tons of variety. The biggest issue is to get drinks to your table. - I would get my morning tea after 75% of my breakfast was done and I asked several times. Staff - well trained most of them will go out of their way to make sure that you are well taken care of. “It is our pleasure”! Overall - the resort was great. Smelled great everywhere at all times. Super clean resort.

You will see subpar shows for entertainment, no views while you dine, and dance to American style music. I left the US to experience latin culture and felt like I was in the US the entire time. Only exception is that employees are local but that was the only Dominican exposure during my visit. Moved to ClubMed after 4 nights and that was a much better choice.

Amazing Birthday Adventure
We have visited Punta Cana many times and this was our first time staying at the Dreams Resort and Spa. Our family was visiting for relaxation and to celebrate my wife's milestone birthday. We all had a terrific time, the staff was very friendly, the resort was very clean, and the food was good. We recommend upgrading to the Preferred Club, that comes with your very own Butler. Out Butler was Aris and he was amazing! He helped with dinner reservations, excursion ideas and even helped to reserve us some beach chairs. Great service and a wonderful time were had by everyone. We will be back again to visit the Dreams Resort!
