Feb 14, 2026Excellent choice for the family vacation.
We went here on a family vacation and the resort was incredible. The staff were incredibly accommodating. And very friendly. Our concierge Josue was excellent. He helped us with reservations and sending us an update on activities at the resort during the day. If anything was wrong he would be there to make it right. Not that there was very many things wrong. The beach was beautiful and clean every day and the pools were always clean. The food at the restaurants was excellent. We didn’t have a bad meal.

On arrival, Punta Cana Airport complete chaos. Over 2 hours to get through passport control and baggage. We were lucky a porter came to our aid and helped us with finding pur rep and bus. Check in as it was 8.30 pm was a bit slow but we were exhausted. Rooms excellent spacious, very clean, Air conditioning worked well, coffee perculator, but we prefer tea so take a travel kettle and tea bags. The house keeping excellent. Whirlpool on terrace was lovely. Even supply an umbrella which we did need. Pools, beach, lovely. All the bars great. Drinks great if you didn't know what you wanted they would create one. Great place for families, spread out so didn't seem busy. Pool towels lovely, plenty of beds by the pools and beach. We only used the Buffet and we were unfortunately very disappointed in. The meat, and fish was dried out and luke warm at best. Warmed up either from lunch or dinner before. Everyday was the same. None of the food was hot. We have stayed at lower star hotels and the food has been alot better. The restaurant is spread out so not crowded. The staff are excellent. Its just for us the food was disappointing. The Burger bar by the lobby was good as they cooked that when ordered. Ice cream and cafe lovely. Bar staff in Moments great.

Great hotel
An all round great holiday, lovely hotel, great food and facilities. Our butler, Francisco, was extremelly efficient, profesional and discreat...with didnt have any real problems but everything we asked of him was done quickly and with a smile. The staff around the prefered adult pool were also great, Nelly, Carlos and Ishmail (drinky time). We spent most of our time here but of what we could the entertainment around the family pool looked excellent. Julio in the preferred bar makes the best drinks in the hotel in my opinion. A great all round hotel for couples and families and the option to use Breathless facilities was a fantastoc bonus too.

Relaxing and Memorable Stay at Dreams Onyx
We had a great stay at Dreams Onyx. This is the second Dreams resort we have stayed at in Punta Cana. The property is very well maintained. The staff are polite and very friendly. Our room seemed recently updated and was very nice. We have to give a shout to our concierge Oswaldo who took amazing care of us all week. He was always checking to see if we needed anything, making dinner arrangements for us etc.

Anthony was the BEST Bartender
We had a group of 11 go to Dreams Onyx in Jan/Feb 2026, we all enjoyed our stays and found the water-slide pool to be "our spot", this is where we met Bartender Anthony who made our stay even more special by going above and beyond in so many ways to keep our group happy (and never thirsty). The Taco Van was a highlight for lunches everyday, and the a-la-carte restaurants did not disappoint. My son loved the Ice Cream cafe and Coco's cafe was great for a quick snack and hit of caffeine.
