Overall Great Experience
We stayed at Dreams Onyx last week and had an amazing trip. Our room was a Preferred Club swim out in Building 6, and the location honestly could not have been more perfect. We were steps from the Preferred pool bar, close to the beach, and still within an easy walk to the main pool. Total win. The bartenders made the stay even better. Andy took such great care of us the first few days that my husband actually went to track him down at his other bar just to say hi. Castillo was just as awesome the last few days. Both of them were kind, attentive, and just fun to be around. The beach was beautiful and really well maintained. Plenty of shady spots, plenty of sunny ones, and the sound of the waves rolling in all day and night was exactly what we needed. Our girls, 11 and 16, were obsessed with the ice cream bar, and I think I might have loved the burger spot even more than they loved the ice cream. The buffet wasn’t our favorite, but there were always enough options for us to find something for breakfast or a quick dinner when we needed it. Breakfast was made a lot better thanks to our special handshake with Juan, who somehow made every morning feel fun. We even got to see him again at Capers during dinner, which was a nice bonus. Capers and Bluewater were both fantastic for dinner. The food and service at each were great. We also did the hibachi experience at Spice. It was a lot of fun and the food was surprisingly good for resort hibachi. And I have to call out Josue, our butler. He checked in regularly and helped us with anything we needed, always with a smile. I’m not someone who loves asking for favors, but he made it easy and made us feel right at home.

They smoke everywhere; you can smell it at the balcony, hallway; avoid leaving your door open; mosquito & bugs; limited activities; some employees are very rude / disrespectful and not welcoming to assist.

The best!
The best! We always have so much fun when we go. This was our 4th time. The staff is always so friendly and they have all been working there for many years. The resort has tons of entertainment for the kids and theor is always something for them to do. We just enjoy it so much. We will probably be going back again next year.

Amazing resort - Recommended for Weddings
Went with a large group for my brothers wedding. This resort specializes in weddings and does an amazing job at it. Besides the wedding services, the actual resort was amazing. The food and service were top tier. Nothing felt pushy or forced. We were over fed every day to the point that we couldn't eat any more amazing food by the end of our stay. The beach was great even with the sargassum that was on the beach the first few days. Our butler Aris always did his best to be present while not overbearing, he did an amazing job at making sure any of our asks were taken care of. There was so many activities and amazing entertainment. The waterpark and lazy river were a nice change of pace from the beach or the pools. Access to breathless next door was also great for after dinner activities with the adults. Casino and Disco were visited multiple times. Highly recommend this resort for a vacation or if you are looking for an amazing wedding venue the only con is the shuttle, when we needed it (day of the wedding and check out) it took multiple calls to get it to come. This was a sore point but was not at our butlers or groups fault. Shuttles are NOT reliable so keep that in mind.
