Disappointed
The grounds are nice. Pools are nice. Beach was not usable due to ocean water being dirty and too much seaweeds. Service was better than expected. People were helpful and mostly pleasant. The food was absolutely terrible (airport quality). Walls are paper thin so if peace and quiet and sleeping is your thing, sorry but you’re not going to get it here.

Disheartening experience
Let me start with the positives: The resort is stunning. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed. We loved the lazy river and water slides, and several staff members truly went above and beyond—special thanks to Eduardo (our coffee king in the mornings), Anyi at the main pool for 5-star service, and the consistently kind buffet hosts. However, what should have been a relaxing family vacation quickly became one of the most emotionally exhausting trips we’ve ever taken. As a light-skinned Puerto Rican woman married to a Black man, traveling with our multiracial family, we experienced an unacceptable number of microaggressions—not isolated incidents, but repeated moments that left us feeling excluded, unwelcome, and judged. From the moment we arrived in the Dominican Republic (our transfer driver avoided us while serving others who arrived after us) to being ignored by restaurant staff while white families received attentive service, the pattern was painfully clear. My husband and kids were often overlooked or treated differently—and I have no doubt this treatment was racially motivated. Even at the steakhouse, we were seated in the back by the bathrooms with only other Black families while white guests were given the better tables. At the pool, every family around us was invited to participate in games—except ours. It felt deliberate. At breakfast we sat by that beach, the waiter served my husband and kids coffee and water, but when I arrived at the table, he ignored me for nearly 20 minutes. Meanwhile, he was very attentive to two white families sitting nearby. I brought these issues to buffet manager and made it clear: bias can ruin a vacation, no matter how beautiful the setting is. On top of that, the resort’s “Preferred Club” program creates a visible caste system. Certain guests are treated to luxury service and exclusive areas, while others are clearly second-tier, regardless of how much money they paid for their stay. We were never even offered the Preferred upgrade (even though it's low season), which, after everything else, felt like another layer of exclusion. This was the worst vacation of our lives, and sadly, we won’t return to this country or stay at a Hyatt property again. If you're traveling with a Black or multiracial family, I urge you to consider our experience.

Incredible service, vibes, drinks and resort
This has been one of our favourite resorts to date, the hospitality, service and detail to care is unmatched. This is a family resort however we have no kids and still felt like there was so much for us to enjoy as young adults. The drinks were delicious, food was great, and service impeccable. Service - Huge huge shoutout to the following friends who made our experience unmatchable, I literally cried on the last day knowing I won’t be back for a while … that’s how amazing the service is. Huge thank you to Carlos, Angel, Wester the BESTER, Anthony, Juan, Jean, Inoel , Martin (assistant manager who prepared the best birthday surprise for me) & general manager Freddy who also pulled the strings for my birthday. More shout outs to Sandry, Neils, Alejandro and Peter. All these people made our stay perfect beyond measure. Love you all 🩷 Drinks - were delicious! Preferred club is very much worth it as you get access to high level liquor, and there’s two special preferred bars where we met (Carlos, angel, and Alejandro) Water park - Anthony was our main bartender here, he is so freaking nice and attentive. Served us delicious drinks and kept the vibes lit! Waterpark was so much fun, bring Floaties although they do provide some, we spent half our trip at the lazy river and pool, there was also a dance/dj party at this pool. Preferred club bar - the best espresso martini, and lots of tequila was flowing lol! Other yum drinks we enjoyed were lemon drops and pink p*ssy Room service/cleaning - our fridge was restocked pretty much everyday, someone always called and asked if we needed anything. And we got room cleaning done 3 times, and the room was left spotless and smelling amazing! Thank you ladies for your help. Birthday celebrations - I was here celebrating my 26th, Freddy and Martin were so kind to set up a private dinner for us, I had a mariachi band, 2 cakes and a birthday banner. I’ve never been treated so well by people and am beyond thankful for all the love I received. Food - 8/10 , some meals were salty, feel free to ask them to not use any salt at all. Buffet was good , Mediterranean was delicious to my partner, I loved the Italian spot, hibachi was also very very delicious. Never hit the steakhouse but heard soooo many good reviews. Overall we LOVED this resort and will be coming back just for the staff, that’s how incredible they made it. I would recommend this to all my family and friends to go at least once, I cannot stop thinking about it and might need to get a lifetime membership 👌🏼

Family of 3 vacation
I would say this resort is average. First impression from the lobby is not great, once you get past that though it gets a little bit better. We stayed at a swim our room and our room was a bit outdated and needed some deep cleaning. The bathroom/ shower area constantly smelt like sewage so that was a huge disappointment. The rooms are good size however. We are a family of 3 with a toddler and there was plenty of space for us. There was also plenty to do and plenty of available chairs at the pools so we had zero complaint there. I would say overall the food is pretty good, expect resort food. The staff is very friendly. Overall, I would say our experience was good minus a few lackluster resort asthetics.

Plunge pool preferred room 😊
This was 10/10 for attentiveness of staff and cleanliness of hotel. A lot of entertainment options. Menu were limited in restaurants but always found great option to eat and room service was great as well. Definitely enjoyed the hibachi show. Our chef had entire table actively participating. It’s the only one that needs a reservation. The staff worked hard to clean beach of Sargasm and it remained free and clear the last half of our trip though red flags for currents . We had a plunge pool room we utilized mostly when the main pools closed and it was nice to relax and listen to the waves crashing. On a cooler night the tub on patio was used . The preferred status was amazing as it had several designated areas for preferred members to lounge in thru out resort as well as seperate very relaxing beautiful lounges to drink in. The preferred breakfast area was very nice to avoid the large crowds in the morning . Our room came with concierge service as well whom we could contact on what’s app. Albert made sure to check in daily though we really didn’t utilize him much. Our patio pool even had bar service from the preferred pool and it has amazing staff. Sterling was very attentive and funny. He went above and beyond to make my daughter a drink on 2 different occasions. There was also a woman there who was very attentive . I have bad eye sight so didn’t read her name tag as I was in pool. I booked this trip for the beach and didn’t miss not going in it at all. Did take an excursion to snorkel one day since during my trip there was red or yellow flag.. This hotel will have me returning for my son’s trip when he turns 18 in June as I can’t imagine coming and not having this same room and experience.
