Nov 28, 2025No Towels, Chairs or Water Park
Visited for Thanksgiving with 5 adults and 4 children, aged 3-9. Check In/Out: Check in was easy. A gentleman showed us to our elevator and told us to come find him after we were settled to get a tour. We never saw him again. Check out was easy. You are sent a message the day before asking you to check out the night before between 4p-9p. Rooms: Clean. We were on the 8th floor pool side so had great views of the pool an ocean. Downside was there were 1-3 weddings a day during our stay. For a family resort, the noise level at night is quite high due to the wedding receptions. We brought a sound machine which helped. Pool: We booked this resort for the family friendly advertising. The splash pool is very shallow for the little ones, which is nice. The lazy river is decent but very few tubes for the number of guests. The water park area was closed our entire stay which was disappointing. The biggest issue we had with this resort is the lack of enforcement of the chair reservation policy and no towels. There are no towel cards so guests were grabbing handfuls of towels first things in the morning. There are towel bins located around the pool that were empty pretty much all the time. Good luck getting a chair. Despite the no reserving chairs policy, all the pool chairs were gone by 730 am every day. Some guests were reserving 10+ chairs everyday. I complained to the concierge and was told security couldn’t do anything if personal belongings were on the chairs. This is the main reason why we will not be returning to this resort. Again, there are weddings every single day so they start picking up chairs around the pool and setting up around 2pm which made it hard to relax and enjoy the entire pool area. There were 2 bars open by the pool (one under construction). Long waits for drinks. Beach: The beach itself was clean but the water was disgustingly brown. I did not see many guests going in the water nor many kids playing on the beach. Kids Club: We chose this resort because is the 3 and up kids club. The kids club personnel were rude and made it clear they were not comfortable with a 3 year old. We were given a pager and told if he cried, we would have to pick him up within 5 minutes. What small child doesn’t cry at some point during the day?? We got bad vibes immediately so pulled our children out after a couple of hours. Dining: We were told reservations were only needed for the Hibachi portion of the Japanese restaurant. Wrong. Apparently you have to use the app (which never works) to make dinner reservations but cannot reserve in advance and cannot reserve for large groups. We talked with another family who said the concierge helped book their dinner reservations however when we asked, we were told no, we have to use the app. Only after some insistence that the app would not let us book for a large group, did they help with dinner reservations for one night only. If you don’t have a reservation, you have to go to the restaurant at 530 and get on the waiting lists or dine at the buffet. Buffet food was good. Tacos in the morning were our favorite. The seafood restaurant was awful. Japanese was our favorite. Entertainment: We enjoyed the entertainment in the evenings. There was a fire show, a circus show, and a magic show. There’s also live entertainment in the lobby. The pool entertainment was good. They do a show for the kids everyday around 2pm. The rollglider by the pool was ok. Only larger children and smaller adults can use it (88 lbs - 187 lbs). It’s a very short ride. The arcade was ok. A few games. The snacks were nice after dinner. Overall: The staff weren’t very helpful and some of the waitstaff were even rude. Kids club staff were horrible. I would not leave my children with them if under the age of 10, honestly. No towels and chairs at a beach resort is wild. I have never experienced this before at any resort and the lack of enforcement is concerning. Would not recommend if you don’t want to get up super early for to snag a chair and towel.
