Great time with family and friends
We had a great time with family and friends on our trip during new years. The service was amazing to say the least and the preferred club upgrade was worth every penny. The food we had was great, we ate at Ocean seafood twice. Few people made our stay better than expected!! Estefani at front lobby bar, Juana and Francesca who were at the beach bar, Moises, Jesus, Sandy, Willy Wonka who was a freaking rockstar and our butler Domingo who made everything happen for us. Such an amazing time, will recommend to friends.

Avoid Dreams Macao
I would avoid Dreams Macao all together. Don’t waste your time. Instead go down the road to Dreams Onyx — such a better experience!! Dreams Macao was a complete disappointment, the preferred upgrade was not worth the Kirby - the room was the smallest we’ve ever stayed in at any all-inclusive, the bathroom ceiling was leaking, my sunglasses went missing from the dresser, other than restaurant reservations our butler was non-existent, the service in the restaurant was extremely slow (specifically breakfast at the preferred only restaurant), the property itself was underwhelming, food was just okay, the best food we had the entire stay was room service. We stay in an all inclusive every year and this one was by far the worst we’ve ever been to. Dreams Onyx last year was probably the best vacation we’ve ever had — beautiful property, amazing butler, great staff all around. If looking for a Dreams in Punta Cana, Onyx is the way to go

Good space/service, food decent. Great surfing beach but property somewhat isolated.
Overall we enjoyed our trip to Dreams Macao Beach. I think five days would have been enough for us, however, instead of seven. Pros: -Rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, but housekeeping was almost too diligent at times! -Of the restaurants, Portofino and Bordeaux were our faves. -Our teenagers enjoyed learning how to surf, but it is not a beach for just lounging in the water. -I never had trouble finding a place at the main pool, but I was usually only looking for one or two chairs, never more. -Maintenance and upkeep is excellent! -The lazy river is a nice space for families, but between that and the busy nature of the main pool, there was really nowhere you could just "float" and relax... -Our kids took advantage of some activities, such as some games and water polo, and they also appreciated the teen club on a rainy day (many resorts age out at 12 for kids' activities). Cons: -If you are not in the Preferred club, then there are limited lunch options (a grill place with hamburgers and hot dogs, a taco truck with unpredictable times/menu, and the buffet). -The pitch to get you to sign up with Hyatt's Preferred program is longer and more aggressive than we were led to believe. It involved a 2.5hr tour of the property and at least FIVE different sales people on different management levels trying to convince us. I appreciate the work they have to do, but it felt icky at times and the promised coupons in exchange were not worth it. -The arcade/bowling alley is not operated by the resort, and has some issues with their technology and billing. -We wish there had been a hot tub! -Overall we found the resort noisier at night than we expected. Between the entertainment and pop-up disco/karaoke stuff that was in a central area, there weren't too many peaceful areas to go to after dark. Beach is closed as well. -The only other thing that ended up bothering some members of our family is the relative isolation of the resort. It was more difficult than expected to get away and do other things, which will affect our choices next time.
