True and honest review from UK

Me and my family recently spent 2 weeks holiday / vacation at Dreams Macao Punta Cana. We were a family of 5 from the UK with 2 adults 3 children. We had booked 2 x preferred club swim up room suits. The rooms were beautiful and modern and spotless clean. The mini bar was stocked daily and the cleaners do a fantastic job. The hotel grounds are beautiful and modern, all of the pools seemed clean and tidy, and the pool boys were working constantly to keep them clean and tidy, we spent most of our days around the preferred club family pool and enjoyed using the comfy beds poolside. We used all of the other pools as well as the on-site water park. The waterpark has a lazy river that’s fun, as well as about 5 slides. The beach is literally a 2 minute walk from pretty much any location in the hotel, there was no real seaweed while we were there, but we were only able to enter the sea on 2 occasions due to the waves being so rough. From speaking to the hotel team it’s not the type of beach you can paddle in very often, and is better suited to body boarding or surfing. The weather was fantastic and it wasn’t rainy or windy the whole time we were at the hotel. The entertainment team were all brilliant and work so so hard! They don’t stop from morning until night. Our little boy (6 years old) loved LeBron James, and Ninja, who always encouraged him to get up and take part in activities. (But not pushy) Moana and rainbow at the kids club were fantastic with our son, he had a great time with them. The camping evening was a particular hit with our son. I would also say the daytime activities were brilliant for adults and children, they were all free and they included - pottery class, candle making, hat making, kids cooking classes. Overall we had a good holiday, BUT we did have one big negative! Me and my family have been travelling to the Caribbean for around 10 years, and we have never been ill or sick on any previous holiday we have been on. But unfortunately 4/5 of our group all developed diarrhoea after the first few days and it lasted our whole time at the hotel. Obviously travelling to the Caribbean regularly we understand not to drink tap water and use bottle water for brushing teeth and drinking by etc. We followed absolutely every golden rule on staying safe. We ate at pretty much all the restaurants across the site and the food seemed excellent. All the staff were constantly cleaning and food seemed fresh. I would say the hotel could improve hygiene in the buffet areas and there were large amounts of flies in this area, especially landing on the fruit section. Some pieces of Mellon had many flies on them at a time. But as mentioned the staff were brilliant and so friendly (Julio) who served us at breakfast and lunch at the buffet was brilliant and always made a fuss when he seen us. We did officially report our sickness to the hotel and filled out an official report as it lasted so long. This did affect us at night time and meant that we missed around 5 evenings of the holiday as we needed to go to bed before the evening entertainment began. The hotel were good in providing additional water etc to our rooms. We did speak to others while we were at the hotel at the same time and they had also reported that they had similar symptoms. Also if you check the hotel Facebook group it was also raised on there at the same time. We had Tony as our Butler, we only seen him on our first day and then on one other occasion. He would send us the daily entertainment Schedule and he reserved our seat at the teppanyaki table one evening, that was pretty much all we used him for. We used room service a few times on the days we couldn’t leave our rooms due to sickness and it was excellent, (top tip) if you want something specific that isn’t on the menu put it in the notes and they will bring it with your order. I would have given the hotel 5* if we hadn’t have had to spend so many days in the room with the kids. I understand people can get a bad stomach when travelling, but as mentioned we have traveled the Caribbean previously and never been sick. It was just disappointing it lasted 11 days out of 14 days at the hotel.

    Outstanding Dreams

Amazing Stay at Dreams Hotel, Macho Punta Cana I had an incredible experience at the Dreams Hotel in Macho Punta Cana! The resort itself is absolutely beautiful — everything felt top class from start to finish. The food and drinks were outstanding, offering a great variety and excellent quality that kept us coming back for more. The kids club was a highlight for our family. The staff there, including Moana, Rainbow, and Candy, were fantastic with the kids — friendly, engaging, and really made the children feel special and entertained. Special shoutouts to the amazing team who made our stay even better: Yafreisy at the lobby bar was outstanding — not only beautiful and friendly but also provided top-notch service. Junior, Mariela, and Rosie were equally awesome and attentive throughout our visit. Maria at the bar also deserves praise for her great hospitality. Overall, Dreams Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We can’t wait to return!

Amazing Resort, Amazing Food & Amazing Staff

I recently stayed at your resort from 10/2 - 10/7 and I wanted to take a moment to share how amazing my experience was. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations — the atmosphere, the service, and the overall hospitality truly made my trip unforgettable. I would absolutely recommend Dreams Macao Punta Cana to anyone looking for a relaxing yet vibrant getaway. I’d also like to give a special shout-out to Summer and Kenny. Summer went above and beyond to make the experience fun and engaging — she even taught me how to salsa, which was such a pleasant surprise and highlight of my stay. Her positive energy and ability to create an enjoyable environment really stood out. Kenny was equally impressive — friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. He even taught me a little Spanish along the way! Both of them are wonderful assets to your team and talented dancers as well. Thank you again for such a memorable visit. I’m already looking forward to returning! Bishop Room 5107

Beautiful, but lacking in customer service

Beautiful resort with great food and entertainment, however staff wasn’t particularly helpful trying to solve an ant problem in my room. And brought me on a goose chance to try and get someone to clean my suitcase that had ants all over it. Management hasn’t responded either, very disappointing

⭐️ Outstanding Staff Made Our Trip Unforgettable ⭐️

We stayed at Dreams Macao Beach (Sept 24–Oct 3) and the staff truly made the experience exceptional. Huge thanks to the entertainment team — Babyface, Ninja, Johnny Bravo, Tairy, Mosquito, Diana, Rainbow, Rapunzel, Zoe, and Barbie — for keeping the energy high and making every day fun! Our Preferred Club butler Johanny was incredible, always one step ahead of every need. The Preferred Club team — Ronaisy, Indira, Victoria, and Aracelis — were warm, professional, and made us feel at home. The staff’s kindness and energy made our trip Excellente! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
