An amazing resort in an awesome country

Dreams Macao Beach December 2025 • Overall o Dreams Macao Beach was pretty amazing. Our family of 5 loves an all inclusive and Dreams delivered. This was our 2nd time in Punta Cana and we highly recommend it. Weather was 82 and sunny almost every day. It rained almost once a day but usually at night or before we woke up. o The food is average o The drinks are above average o The service from staff is well above average o Spanish is the preferred language here. You don’t need to speak it but its nice to speak in the native language o Overall this resort met our expectations and is about a 9 out of 10 • Preferred Club o One annoying thing about this resort is that a lot of the resort is for Preferred club guests only. We had preferred club access but I don’t think I would like the resort without it.  There is a restaurant near the pool (Oceana) for preferred guests only during the day  There is a preferred club pool near the main buffet that we used 3 times that is much quieter than the main pool  There is a preferred club adults only pool that had the only hot tub and no kids  There is a preferred club area near the beach that we used multiple days • Pools o The main pool is vibrant with loud music. They also have a food station set up for lunch from 11-noon each day  They offer many activities like water aerobics at noon every day and they have a volleyball court set up in the pool o The resort says the pools open at 9 and you can’t reserve chairs before then but that is not correct  As early as 7:15, half of the pool chairs were covered  On our first day, we were able to snag some chairs around 8:45 but after that we got chairs at 7:30 every day • I would usually drink my coffee at the pool to save the chairs o As the week went by and we got closer to Christmas, the resort got busier and it was harder to find chairs • Beach o This beach is amazing. We previously stayed at Hard rock and there was seaweed on the beach, not in Macao Beach o We spent two days jumping over waves in the ocean, I hope you get a windy wave day on your vacation because it was so much fun • Water slides o The resort has 7 water slides and a lazy river  Of the 7, 4 are exactly the same and fun for racing  I sent my mother down multiple slides meaning there are two slides for multiple ages o The lazy river is quite nice and the whole family can chill in it  90% in the sun • Room/Villa o With 5 of us, we decided to get a villa for our room. There are 20 villas on property and you get what you pay for. A two bedroom suite with living room and a backyard with private pool  My son and I wanted to watch football and this came in very handy when everyone else went to sleep and we hung out in the living room  Fridge and freezer that is restocked every day with water, soda and beer  My daughter spent a lot of time in the backyard on the phone, its basically an extra room • There are bugs back there and both kids got some mosquito bites • Butler o The villa comes with a butler and it’s a very nice feature o The butler made us dinner reservations and that made dinners much easier o We didn’t bring a football for the pool and our butler showed up with one in less than an hour o He found us on property every day and was waiting for us at dinner almost every night o We communicated via whatsapp • Food o If you are from an affluent area of the states, the food is here is just not as good as some of the amazing food we are used to o We didn’t have any bad meals o The food met our expactations and we were usually full from appetizers before the main course came o As the week went by and we got closer to Christmas, the wait time for food got longer  1 hour for food at the Mexican restaurant on 12/25  90 minute wait for food at the Japanese restaurant on 12/26 o The kids ordered pizza and chicken fingers to the room multiple times • Alcohol o I had a banana mama blended drink without alcohol at the pool every day o The resort specializes in blended drinks and fruity drinks  My daughter had a dirty monkey without alcohol almost every day  My son has a pina colada every day o They offer some top shelf items if you can find it  Absolut vodka is at most bars  Multiple whiskies are at most bars • The resort staff could use a whiskey training (which I would be happy to offer) o I asked for a list of whiskies on night one and they couldn’t provide one o I asked for Scotch at the Italian restaurant and first got tequila…and then rum…before I went and got scotch myself o I asked for scotch at the Seaside grill and got bourbon, which I drank o They carry Johnnie Walker, Ballentine’s, Jim Beam, Jack, Jameson  Fortunately, you are never more than 200 feet from a bar so you can just grab whatever you want, whenever you want • Service o Outside of the wait time for food two nights, the service is off the charts amazing o Dreams must have told their staff to acknowledge guests and 99% of staff said hello when you passed by them o The staff is also exceptional when it comes to telling you their names. Here are a few:  Miguel, our butler  Anderson at the preferred pool  Ricobert at the preferred pool  Moises at the Adults only pool  Princess Diana in entertainment runs the resort. Find her, you won’t be disappointed  There is another entertainer who is amazing, life of the party. I didn’t catch his name but he wore a santa suit in the hot sun on Christmas. He was great! • Shows o I like a show after dinner but the shows were below average o They had a magician one night and it was the same act we had seen 4 years ago. Still pretty good o Every other show was just dancing with music, no words o Some of the shows incorporate acrobatics • Sports Bar o By far this was the worst part of the resort o We were watching our hometown team and they asked us to leave  The Sports bar becomes a nightclub around 10ish • You must be 18 in the night club • They kicked us out even though the only people in the bar/nightclub were watching sports (us and one more table, it was basically empty)  The sports bar is never staffed until it becomes a nightclub • This is a liability • We saw people pouring their own beer in the sports bar  The sports bar never has game sound on, its always playing club music, even at noon • Gym o The Gym has one peloton machine and I used it every day o There are a few other stationary bikes and I did have to wait multiple days for the peloton • Zip Line o My son did the Zip line one day  $15 for two rides and includes a trip up the climbing wall  We had some confusion earlier in the week because you can also sign up for a $35 pass that includes zip line, pool and video games in the arcade • Misc: o Tips  Most all inclusives are tip free and that’s sort of the case here  However, all guests bring money for tips and most staff are looking for tips • One staff member held money in his hand when a woman asked for an umbrella • One cleaning lady explained to me that she makes her money from tips • We knew ahead of time that you are supposed to tip the butler and we did • In general, I tipped $1 for every 2 or 3 drinks • We tipped the bellman going in and leaving • Its not a tip-free resort o Selling Jewelry  Next to the sports bar, this was the most annoying part of the resort  For some reason, they allow an outside company to set up several tables and hock crappy jewelry on multiple nights • The employees are very pushy and try to sell $3 bracelets for $65 • They also have fake Rolexes • They give you a $0.50 necklace for free to try and get you to come to their table We loved it! But we are not going back. This resort was perfect for relaxing. Next year we are going back to a resort with more excursions.

    Nice vacation how expected

After 3 years we decided to come back. This time with our family booking 3 rooms. We did the reservation 6 month’s earlier asking for rooms close to each other. One room was on a different floor quite far away. Asking for a different room was not possible. Important to say that the staff working in the hotel is really perfect, You really feel that this is a good place. All expectations where like expected. The food is good and right. The slides for adults are not useable, I went down once and thats it. It hurts hard on the back, You feel the connections of the slide. The kids water playground also need a refreshment. We had some issues with the AC in the room, someone is coming trying to repair it but not solving the problem and You have to get used to it. We asked 3 days in the row for changing the light on the terrace. To sum up. It,s a really nice place with good energy filled with good member staff all around. The beach is very nice with big waves. Moslty with red flag but You can goin the water.

Best all inclusive trip so far

Arrival was smooth, we flew American Airlines and had no issues, we booked amstar for the airport to resort transfer and it was about 40 min but it went by quick. There is a tall gate with security and a long driveway. The check in was smooth and quick, we were greeted with dancers and champagne. Shout out to Kenny and Eddy. The one annoying part is after the check in, a separate person comes and while he gave us the spa paper work we filled out a form for the spa discount they try to talk you into a presentation the next morning for 1.5 hours and they can give you free massages. We didn’t do it. I get it’s their job, its just pushy and salesy. That’s the only thing I wasn’t a fan of. The room was beautiful and clean. Beds were comfy. They have all the essentials: robes, flip flops, good shampoo/ conditioner, body wash, hairdryer, etc. if your hair doesn’t cooperate with humidity I wouldn’t bother bringing any hair tools. I would bring hair ties, clips, leave in conditioner, and hair glue. I curled my hair and went over the same curl 3 times and within 3 min it was puffy again. We normally put on the privacy sign so they don’t come in our room and we always took everything important with us. My mom came with us and while we were at the beach she had our things and vice versa. They clean rooms in the evening so when we were at dinner they cleaned it. Everyone was super nice and smiling and said hi all the time. The bar in the lobby has the best drinks. Shout out to Sindy! We even gave her a recipe to see if she had the ingredients which she didn’t but got it for us the next night. All the restaurants were so good! You could go to all of them, unlimited times and no reservations required. I would recommend going when they open so there’s no wait. The most we waited was for 30 min so we went to Coco cafe and got something to drink and stayed on the terrace. Shout out to Arlin. We went to coco cafe at least 3x a day. I got a lot of chai teas and dirty chais. They’re open 24 hrs. Rum, tres leches and plum ice cream is a must. Restaurants we went to: Bordeaux (French) - crepe with mushrooms - beef, chicken, lamb entree - deserts weren’t our favorite honestly Himitsu (Asian) - Dumplings, sushi, spring rolls - Chicken, first one on the list, beef and broccoli - Liked all their desserts - Also tried hibachi, it was good! Oceana (seafood) - salmon and mashed potatoes on toothpick - Beef and salmon entrees El patio (Mexican) - Barbacoa & Cochinita Tacos, Ixtlahuaca Corn Esquites, Shimp "a la Diabla", Tex-Mex Fajitas, "Carne Asada" There is a man that grills behind the barefoot grill, he’s not there all the time but the steak, chicken and chimichuri sauce is so good. Must try! The buffet is also really good, lot of variety for everyone. As a general rule, to not get sick, I stay away from anything washed with water because idk if it’s filtered, same with cheeses and salamis because they look like they’re sweating. I mostly stuck with cooked meats and some cooked veggies. Shout out to: Altagracia Rodriquez, Ruth and Francisco Perez. The beach is clean, no seaweed, water is warm. Don’t wear your glasses in, you may lose them, there are waves. Lot of people brought their surfing boards. There is plenty of seating everywhere. The beach does close at 6:30p because it gets dark. The beach is divided in 3. The right is for preferred, the left has the lower half which has vendors and they will approach, you can negotiate with them. Don’t pay full price on suvenires. The top half they won’t bother you. Someone comes and takes your orders. There is security on the beach. There are stray cats and dogs, not a lot and friendly. There was a fire show on the beach which was nice. Check out was fast!

    All in for this all-inclusive

Great location, great design, AMAZING staff! The friendliness and warmth made the experience, we felt like we'd come home to friends... Exceptional place if you have kids and you need a break, although somewhat lacking for grown up date night options....

Wonderful stay! Could not ask for more.

Dreams macao exceeded all of our expectations. Food was overall very good (some misses but that's to be expected and we're pretty critical). The staff and condition of the hotel were all amazing. Lots of activities for adults and kids of all ages. We went during christmas and the staff did a great job creating a festive atmosphere.
