Beautiful resort and room, lots of kids activities, food was subpar
We have been to many 5 star all inclusives and have a high expectation, especially for the price we paid. We paid nearly $600 per night for 2 people and expected a 5 star experience. Our room was outstanding. The staff were wonderful as was the entertainment. Our only complaint is the food. Now let me say, we know good food for resorts and expect it, we know we’re spoiled. We felt that every other dish we ordered was hit or miss. Bordeux was our best meal, himitsu was good, but oceano served us steaks that were inedible and appetizers that were lacking. El patio is not true Mexican and could not even be described as such, maybe fusion but not even very good. The taco truck was a solid lunch option, our breakfast at oceano was just ok. We opted to skip breakfast most days because of this. Room service was not great, the pizza was similar to a gas station quality. If you go expecting just ok food, then you’re all set. We just had high expectations that did not get met. We chose this resort because my husband surfs and he had one day with gorgeous conditions. If you’re looking for a resort with access to surf in punta Cana, this is it. Just don’t go hungry lol

Great resort for families and couples!
The resort was above expectations. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The service was incredible. All of the staff are so friendly and really go above and beyond to provide exceptional service. The resort is a great size. Very walkable, but still big enough to not feel repetitive. The shows and night entertainment was great! Perfect for couples of all ages and kids. We spent most evenings up at the lobby bar and enjoyed the drink service and live music. The shows are well produced and engaging. The resort is super clean and modern, and the food was above expectations.

Beautiful beach, freindly staff
My wife and I stayed at Dreams Macao the first week of February and despite a little bit of rain the weather was fantastic. The waves on the beach were too rough for swimming, but I feel they enhanced the quality of the scenery. It truly is a beautiful beach. The pool with the swim-up bar and the lazy river was where we spent most of our time. Both areas can get busy, but if you choose your spot early, say after breakfast, you are sure to have a good time. The best part about our stay was the friendly, efficient, and quality service provided by all of the staff at the resort. The dancers and entertainment team do an amazing job of bringing the fun. The bar and waitstaff were all attentive and prompt. Kenny, Cookie, Cristy, Babyface, and many others made us feel welcome and want to visit again. Would recommend.

Nice Resort, Great People
Just got home from a week at Dreams Macao- we went as a family of 3 with a 10 year old son, and travelled with friends that were also a family of 3. Our room (Junior Suite Pool View) was nice, clean and in a great location (building 5, ground floor, overlooking the little kid water park). Food was good, nobody in our party of 6 was sick. We enjoyed the main pool and Lazy River. Beach was incredibly rough, but we knew that before booking- we did not swim in the ocean at all. Incredibly beautiful though! All of the staff was friendly and helpful, but I want to give the biggest shout out to Francis, who really went out of his way to befriend our boys and engage with them daily. He taught the boys various Spanish phrases, brought them coconuts, and even gave my son 50 Dominican Pesos so that he could take it home to show his friends and tell them about his Dominican friend! I’m sure Francis doesn’t make a huge salary, so for him to give any amount of money to a child is so special! I believe Francis is part of the clean up crew around the Lazy River, so typically doesn’t receive much for tips- if you see him, make sure to tip this man, he is fantastic and so caring! We did find that drinks were very inconsistent, even when made by the same bartender, however not a deal breaker for us. Overall we had a good week (weather could have been better, but that’s certainly no fault of the resort!) and would recommend to others. This was our first stay at a Dreams resort and we will likely check out other Dreams/ Secrets properties in the future.
