An underwhelming and frustrating family trip with a four-year-old, but some highlights!
We recently stayed at Dreams Los Cabos and while the property itself is beautiful, our overall experience was mixed. Check-in set the tone with what was presented as a resort tour to get familiar with the facility but turned out to be a timeshare pitch. Doesn't seem like the best time to pitch someone is within the first hour that they arrived. That being said, after we had said our firm NO multiple times, and stayed with them for the mandatory 90 minutes, we did receive some spa credits. I like to think of this as me putting in a shift at work to get some extra spending money. The process felt misleading and wasn’t the welcome we were hoping for. I would have really liked to have had a welcome breakfast and a tour of the resort without the sales pitch. Around the pool, mornings quickly became frustrating—by 9:00 a.m. nearly every lounger was “reserved,” leaving us to track down staff and had to tip them just to get chairs and an umbrella at the kids’ pool. This shortage of seating was a daily annoyance. But probably isn't unique to just this resort. Dining was another challenge. The three family-friendly restaurants all open at 5:30 p.m. with staggered seating, but even arriving right at opening meant waiting nearly 45 minutes to be seated, followed by at least another hour before food arrived. With a four-year-old, this was tough to manage. I ran into MANY other parents who were as frustrated as we were, trying to get our kids something to eat from an overwhelmed cafe. A dinner buffet would have helped immensely, but they never had the buffet open for the week we were there. There’s no casual grill option after 5 p.m., so late-night snacks (tacos, fajitas, hot dogs) required room service, which consistently took 45–65 minutes, and you had to be in your room. You couldn't head from the bar/lounge at 930 to grab taco or any kind of snack. Either sit down dining or room service after 5. I would have preferred lunch options available sooner, along with dinner. I can appreciate that it is difficult to turn around a kitchen fully from breakfast to lunch to dinner, but perhaps staggering opening times might help? The $75USD/person Le Petit Chef dining experience was also underwhelming—the immersive projection show lost its impact when food arrived several minutes after the "presentation" had finished and drink pairings felt mismatched and dismissive. I had asked for something other than the fruity cocktail suggestion as it was too sweet, and was told by the server "No, it's perfect" and he left. Noise was a constant issue. Every night at 2 a.m. we were woken by staff collecting room service dishes, and our room near the elevator was plagued by loud mechanical sounds. Twice I had to pry open stuck elevator doors myself, and staff seemed unconcerned when I reported it. Evening entertainment was so loud it felt like the patio doors were open, making it difficult to settle our child before quiet hours began at 9:15 p.m. Even the spa, while pleasant, suffered from poor soundproofing—you could hear toilets being used and showers running during a massage, which ruined the atmosphere. Service overall felt inconsistent. Many staff seemed disengaged, avoiding eye contact until waved down. One cook ignored me for ten minutes before telling me the snack shack wasn’t open yet when I had asked if I could order some food — a simple “good morning, we open at 11:30” would have sufficed. That said, there were bright spots: Sergio at Oceanside was the best waiter we encountered, attentive and kind, and the Adventure Club staff were wonderful with our daughter. Booking a private cabana was also a highlight, giving us reserved loungers, a plunge pool, and excellent butler service—it was easily the best money we spent all week. The resort grounds are stunning, with a breathtaking view from the lobby out over the ocean and well-maintained landscaping. However, the hotel itself could use some updates, and the overall atmosphere lacked the warmth and personality we’ve experienced at other resorts. Usually by the end of a trip we’ve connected with a few standout staff members, but this time that never happened. In the end, while Cabo itself was amazing and we’ll definitely return, we won’t be coming back to Dreams Los Cabos. For the price we paid, the combination of limited food options, noise, overbooking, and lackluster service made the stay underwhelming. Now to be fair in my review, a lot of this will be coming from the tired parent of a 4.5yr old. So there are probably a lot of things I'm complaining about now, that might not have bothered me when I was travelling before kids.

Amazing Hotel!
We chose Dreams to have our wedding at, and we were really amazed on how everything came out. Raymundo’s is an excellent coordinator to anyone and did an amazing job helping us with his constant communication, detailed emails, and staying up to date with all our needs. Our family and closest friends joined us for our wedding weekend at Dreams and they had an amazing time and couldn’t stop talking about it at thanksgiving dinner since our wedding was a week before. We would recommend this property and Raymundo to anyone planning on having a wedding here! The property’s lobby has amazing views, clean rooms, and friendly staff.
