Loved our stay
We were worried about the negative reviews after we booked but after staying here we need not have worried, the resort is beautiful and will only get better with time, beach is beautiful, lovely calm water, we spent all our time at the family pool and it really was such a relaxing beautiful place to be. Special shout to dorka, and Edwin at the bar 👍, food at the buffet we found great, especially the cakes! We also enjoyed the entertainment in the lobby bars each night, they would normally have live music and dancing in both the bars along with the outdoor show. Only negative for me was the restaurants were a bit hit or miss regarding service and standard of food, but overall we really enjoyed our stay, I don’t understand comments criticising the staff as the vast majority are wonderful and try their hardest to give you a great holiday.
The day we arrived, a young couple asked us to take their photo. It was their last day on the resort. We enquired about their stay and they replied they couldn't think of a bad word to say. It turned out they were right. IF we had believed the TripAdvisor reviews criticising this, that and the other, we may well have never booked, and that would have been a real real shame. At NO point did we queue for a meal, a towel or a drink. At NO point was any staff member rude or disinterested (disclaimer - I am a nice polite kind person, and I do speak Spanish, these two ingredients do tend to work well together) . At NO point did anything break or go wrong in the room. At NO point was there a lack of shade or sunloungers. You get the idea. The whole experience was wonderful, until, of course, the President shut the Airport, Air Europa refused to answer our emails and we had to quickly figure out how to leave... but that's another story. The one thing I would change? A full length mirror in the room. I never saw the bottom half of my outfit until I used a communal bathroom. But who cares about your bottom half anyway :o) Oh, and TOO MANY single-use plastics guys, water bottles, shampoos, conditioners - not cool. Thank you Hilton La Romana, and I wish you a speedy recovery from this global health and economic crisis. You deserve nothing but happiness.
the staff are the most incompetent group of people if you called them and ask thought question they simply hang up the phone the manager is just as useless I'm not sure what they are thinking so we get the Hilton diamond desk to call them and they do the same thing, these people don't care about the Hilton brand they are not a true Hilton, they just use the Hilton name and they don't follow Hilton's protocol or culture don't stay here if you expect any kind of respect I can only hope the corona epidemic puts them out of business

This Hilton resort and what they have done in the last year is remarkable. But what they have done to the resort does not compare to the wonderful staff there. We were there almost a year ago and was super impressed by the staff we assumed partially because it was under remodel and just purchased by Hilton so everyone was on their game. But after going back a year later we find this was not the case the staff continuously went out of there way for its customers. if you could go back in time this is the way it used to be and should still be at companies that care about their customers. Hilton La romana they take the time to stop and say hello to you when they don’t even have to and if they hear that you are having any sort of an issue or problem they immediately without hesitation take care of it and more than make up for it. most companies employees would just turn there head and run the other way the dominican republic staff is outstanding I could go on for hours about how good they are but I’m not, you need to take the time and go there experience this true customer service they treat everyone like kings and queens. I hope this staff and this management never stop doing what they are doing and I hope your management stops and looks not only online but in person at how good their staff is from the bottom of our hearts thank you for treating us the way you did and caring about our time and vacation. We can’t remember all the employees names but we did have very pleasant interactions with Moraima Cayetano and Katherine Mercedes.
Terrific, Great Value
The resort was beautifully maintained and fully staffed with very attentive and kind employees. The food was above average and the variety was exceptional. Bartender Mildred, assigned to the Adult Zone infinity pool was the best example of exceptional service. Her kindness and humor will not be forgotten.
