Stay was really great…. Had the preferred club and check in and check out went really well… quick and easy… everyone is so friendly and helpful at the resort… restaurants had good options of different selections to choose from but the take away from the trip was Johan and Wander the bartenders at the preferred club they went above and beyond on my stay loved it! Thank you

Beautiful place to spend your vacation
Just returned from Secrets, where I was there for a weke with my wife and her parents. Overall, we had a great time. Speacial shout out to Johan, Wander, and the whole crew in the preferred lounge, who took wonderful care of us throughout our time. Also, the whole team at the sports bar who always made suire we could watch our Dodgers baseball throughout the week. Those folks went above and beyond and made the trip extra special. The rooms are perfectly fine, with comfy beds, plenty of storage, and a good-sized bathroom. Housekeeping does a great job, thank you to them! The grounds are amazing and spacious, just beautiful, and the beach is fantastic. We spent most of our time at the preferred pool, where it was quiet and just perfect for us, but we did do a couple afternoons at the beach. The gym is adequate with very nice equipment, but it is in a very small room and feels crammed. The drinks are great, and the coffee bars definitely hit the spot. And the water park is so much fun, we did a couple mornings there and had a blast laughing like kids. We all did massages at the spa and they were great. So relaxing. The ladies also both got facials, which they reported as amazing as well. The only real knock is the food. It isn't terrible by any means, but it also isn't great. Breakfast is ok to borderline good, but then it goes downhill after that. We tried six different restaurants, and while Chinola had an incredible atmosphere and service (and one cute little kitty!), the food was generally all overcooked. Which was kind of a theme throughout. The best meal we had was at Noor, which we very much recommend. Sakura was fine too, but skip the opening sushi. All that to say, we would love to come back and just maybe play the hits when it comes to dinner. Everything else is so spot on, and we can't wait to get back to that pool, that beach, those drinks, and then hanging with Johan in the lounge for happy hour, playing cards, and having a great time.

Great Anniversary Experience!
Wonderful trip! Great beach, the water was crystal clean (and calm). Byron our Host was beyond amazing! We would return solely because of him. Diomedy at the beach was equally as wonderful too. All around a perfect vacation with virtually no hiccups or issues.

Lovely holiday - pros and cons
We had a lovely holiday at Secrets La Romana. Stunning and clean resort throughout. We upgraded as part of the preferred club and glad we did and thought it was worth it to have access to preferred sections of the resort. Positives -food was great and many different restaurants to choose from. -drinks were nice, we found the cocktails to be too sweet like they were made with too much concentrate. -beautiful clean beach and resort. -towels are removed from loungers after a few hours so loungers don’t get hogged all day by some guests. -housekeeping keep the rooms spotlessly clean. Cons -the Playa sales staff are extremely annoying! We were hassled by them when walking through reception with them trying to sell you another holiday whilst being on holiday!! Very pushy and don’t take no for an answer(as seen in other reviews too), I recommend not engaging with them at all. Puts us off booking another holiday at a Hyatt resort. -staff cannot speak much English both within and outside the resort but it is enough to get by and most people do try their best. -staff at the water sports centre are rude and arrogant. They also wanted to charge us 30 USD to do a beginner lesson (not at our request) to do the wind sailing yet water sports are included in the all inclusive package? Raised this to reception but doubt anything would be done about it. Also to note that tipping is very much expected within and outside the resort!

Important information
The resort was very beautiful , the staff was very friendly and helpful. One thing I will say make sure that you lock up your personal important viable items into the safe because things went missing out my room. Make sure that the safe actually work first . Be sure to double check your checkout bill because things was added to my room from other guests at the hotel. Other than that the overall experience was pretty nice
