We have been coming here since it was Casa Mia in 2000 it has changed hands several times since then always with improvements and upgrades . This year it has been run by Secrets Hyatt group we upgraded premier club and found it well worth the extras . Our only disappointment was the adults only buffet restaurant was closed every evening as we are not adventurous diners we found it very difficult to find anything to eat as we don’t really enjoy A la carta . But besides that the resort ,rooms ,pools ,staff, drinks are first class xxxxx

Secrets La Romana
My experience was a 10/10. My wife and I stayed here in December of 2025. The stay was incredible. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is truly the highlight of this resort. The preferred lounge had the best team I have ever experienced at any resort. Johan, Wander, and Ruth were spectacular. They not only made fantastic cocktails, but also truly care about the guest experience. I would say upgrading to preferred is well worth it for the benefits that come with it. You get the preferred lounge and pool, which have premium cocktails you won’t find at normal bars. You get the preferred beach area. We also had Byron to help with any of our needs. Byron was fantastic during our stay. He checked on us daily. He was always very kind. He book our reservation, brought us a cooler to the beach with waters and mimosas multiple times. He even brought us fresh pina colada’s in a pineapple one day. The beach is beautiful and very enjoyable, you can snorkel right off the beach. We saw lots of fish and multiple sting rays. Some other people on the beach said they saw manatees the first day we got there, we unfortunately were not lucky enough to experience that. We also did an excursion to Catalina Island. The snorkeling was excellent, but the water was very rough. Also it is far from the resort so if you don’t want to spend half the day on a boat I would recommend skipping this tour. The one issue that I had during the stay was when we went to lunch at Mare. We waited over 45 minutes to have our order taken, then after another 30 minutes they returned and asked if we had received our food yet. We told them no, and they tried to retake our order again after waiting nearly an hour and a half. This was the only time that we experienced poor service on our 4 night stay, so we still felt great about the whole experience. I would highly recommend this resort!

The Preferred Club Bar at Secrets La Romana was our favorite bar!
The bartenders Wander, Johan, and Ruth were always friendly, welcoming, and very professional. They paid attention to every detail and happily accommodated every request. The cocktails were made with care and always tasted amazing. Definitely our favorite bar at the resort!
