  Fantastic holiday

  Had the most amazing 10 days. We were looked after by Byron Mercedes for the duration of our stay and I have to say that he was the best butler we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Nothing was too much trouble and he went above and beyond all our expectations. He quickly learned what we liked and made sure that we had everything we wanted and more besides. Other guests commented on the level of service and professionalism that Byron displayed. The hotel was fantastic, the food and drink were great. Would definitely recommend this hotel but if you are looking to make it something special then I'd strongly advise you to request Byron.

  Great time at Secrets La Romana

  Stayed here in Dec 7, 2025. The property is large and beautiful with green plants and beautiful ocean views. It has great sidewalks for walking. I enjoyed the ON THE ROCKS BAR in the dreams side ( Bartenders were fun to talk to CARLOS MEJIA, JOSE PACHE, ANGEL NIEVES, BREYDI HERRERA.). They had an outdoor amphitheater with really great shows every night. Enjoyed meeting the entertainment staff during the day ( MARIA REYES, YULINA, YULIETA, RODOLFO, ABRAHAM, PABLO, FREDDY, RENE, ESTEBAN, ERNESTO, MIGUEL, LEANDRO, FERNANDO, WILLIAMS, MARIA. I enjoyed the Indian restaurant NOOR so much, I ate there every night. I played pickleball and tennis almost everyday. Great Coffee Shops at both dreams and secrets side Great Sports Bar SCORES that plays music at night

  Dioraka and Yesica were so helpful filling our drinks on the beach. The water is perfect. Carmen did a fantastic job being attentive to our room and our needs.

  Overall ok, made better by Diorka

  We stayed at secrets la romana for 2 weeks in mid December, we were due to visit jamaica which was understandably cancelled to hurricane Melissa , having been due to stay at couples swept away in jamaica as we did the previous year we found ourselves making comparisons to this which maybe is a bit unfair. First of all the resort is very clean and there is plenty of staff and we have to highlight diorka who was so attentive and asked our names on the first day of meeting us and remembered them throughout , greeting us each morning with a smile and making sure our drinks never ran empty , thank you diorka, we are so grateful of you !! There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and plenty of variety, we found the buffet a bit strange in the fact that it isn't a buffet as others have highlighted , we preferred the other options but personal preference for all, the biggest disappointment in terms of restaurants for us was la moustache , we arrived at the restaurant and told there was a few other families waiting which is fine, however this took an hour to be called into the restaurant, to be sat down with a dirty napkin and dirty table cloth , we were sat down and given water promptly and then asked for.anynother drinks which took about 15 minutes to arrive , I understand the staff never stop but the restaurant had a number of empty tables, the drinks arrived and we ordered our starters which came with quite a delay , we then waited around 30 minutes for the next course , families either side had the same issue and some had to seek out or ask for some.cutlery , this whole visit took about 2 hours from arrival to eating , myself and my partner don't hang around when eating as we felt that the table.could of been used by another family who had been waiting outside for a table as long as us so we promptly left without dessert as we felt this would of took even longer. As a few others have mentioned on here, my partner became unwell with severe stomach cramps during the first week which lasted for a week meaning some.of the days/ nights we had no option to remain in our room.to be close to a toilet, this then happened to myself the second week and it can be described as really uncomfortable stomach cramps coupled with diarrhea every time we ate , luckily mine only lasted 2 days compared to the week of my partners. We ate at the sakura restaurant twice and found this to be the best but again personal preference. The beach was lovely but we felt very closed in to others , we paid for the preferred club but found again very close to each other but the complimentary sun tan lotion was a welcome.addition and diorka was on hand here to look after us all day. We found the entertainment to be pretty boring as its rinse and repeat most evenings. We didn't eat lunch at any of the restaurants as we.found going for breakfast in the a la carte or (strange ) buffet and the visiting one of the snack bars during the day was enough for us , plenty of.choice for our liking. The room was of good size and kept clean by the cleaning staff, the waiters and staff work really hard , for us it didn't compare to couples swept away but that is probably unfair , would we visit dominican again - Yes, would we come back to secrets/dreams - probably not , the little bit of magic you get from.couple's wasn't there for us We visited coco bongos and monkey land and zip lines and this was really enjoyable, however, the bus didn't come for us on the day we were due to go and it was changed to the following day, very frustrating as these were early starts. Overall a great place that take care of you , shame about being unwell which as mentioned seems to be a lot of people's concerns also. I'm confident a lot of couples/ family's would come here and absolutely love this place.
