So we just left Dreams Karibana. Please keep in mind that the product reflects the price point. I think I used 20k Hyatt points per night, which is low compared to other places. Pros: Resort was very private with good security. Big pool area and never had an issue getting a chair. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was modern and spacious. The a la carte restaurants were generally good. Cons: Dreams Karibana is dated, and the resort needs some updating and cleaning. Certain parts of the hotel smells. Mid shelf alcohol like JW Black and Patron are not part of the all-inclusive, so expect to pay around $9 per drink. The buffet food was not very good, and the setup was amateurish. This is a 3.5-star resort.

My daughter and me were very impressed with the hotel.The location was excellent , Food Great and Service Exceptional.The employees were very friendly and always ready to help they never said no , they went above and beyond.I was very impressed with the Excellent Service we received from the Employees , Jenny , Evelin , Ingmar , Yisten , Kenier , Marcella , Nicolle , Sophia and All the other employees they always worked together as a team and made us feel very very welcome and comfortable.We loved the food the facilities the Gold Course beside the hotel and the availability and willingness of the House Keeping Service frequently cleaning the room making sure we have everything we needed.I will highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

January 2026 at Dreams Karibana Cartagena Golf & Spa Resort - Would go back!
Very nice size hotel, nice size rooms, very clean. Service excellent, people very nice and friendly. Meals offer can be better but it was sufficient. 1 restaurant (Italian) needed reservation, the buffet, seafood, steak house are « open ». Great pool and snack bar. Ocean water is (brown sand) not clear and nice as in the caraïbe however (you can’t see the bottom even in shallows water. Golf, practice facilities (accessible by walking) is just great, nice test and the service over there is top tier. We went for a golf/couple vacation. Price is reasonable and weather is always great in the period we went (January 2026).

Great place to escape to for vacation
It was a very nice experience. The hotel was clean and the staff were really helpful. Shoutout to the activity teams group - especially Yenny, yisten, evelin, Michelle and gamaliel! They made my time at the pool a lot of fun!!

I would stay near downtown by the walled city instead...
Not worthy of it's 5 star rating if I'm being honest. Service is pretty great, and the pools and beach are really nice, but that is the extent of it. The rooms are nice too, but we had to switch rooms after calling maintenance 4 times about the air conditioning. Food was okay, sometimes super dry and not tasty. Alcohol selection was not great either, I hate scotch and that is the only whiskey they provided without having to pay extra for bourbon (which was like $12-$15 per drink extra).
