    Amazing meal, ambiance and staff!

We went to the French restaurant Mercure, divine experience! Chef Dowson made the most exquisite meal with many courses offered! My young adult children had the opportunity to really experience fine dining! Our waiter Antonio treated us like royalty, we never had to ask for a refill and he was exceptionally attentive! The Manager Victor went above and beyond to accommodate our larger group and made us feel well cared for, checked on us frequently and even pulled out my chair for me, such a gentleman. I was not expecting such an amazing experience and can’t wait for my next meal there!

I highly suggest you consider other resorts besides Dreams!

I am very disappointed with my stay at Dreams . My previous resort experiences in Cancun at Dreams Aventura October 2023 and Royalton Chic May 2024 were 100 percent better. I visited for 3 nights and 2 days with my husband and 11 month baby to celebrate my husband's birthday and father's day. We chose Dreams Jade over resorts in Jamaica even though we have both been to Cancun before because we saw it had a lot of great reviews and 5 stars on the cheap Caribbean website. However, our experience was definitely not 5 stars. It was 2.5 stars at best. At arrival we were given a wet towel and friendly greeting however they had an alcoholic welcome drink. My husband and I do not drink alcohol and both resorts I have mentioned above that I have stayed at had non alcoholic welcome drinks. Its something to consider if a resort is going to claim they are "family friendly." My husband and I started noticing the different treatment/behaviors we were shown by the staff the minute we entered the lobby and waited to check in. We had to stand in line which we were surprised at considering that at Dreams Aventura we were given seats during check in and the overall atmosphere was more welcoming compared to the check in process at Dreams Jade. The staff at the lobby seemed confused and were discussing something regarding our stay; we figured they saw the request for the birthday decor and cake for my husband but because we weren't preferred it most likely didn't follow through. The person checking us in handed my husband a paper that said happy birthday (forgot if there was a note included). I called weeks in advance to let the hotel know it was my husband's birthday and was told they would put a happy birthday banner on the door and send a cake slice to our room and this never happened. Additionally, by the time we arrived and were ready to eat no restaurants or the buffet was open, only the small outdoor food areas and the "preferred member" food area. However, they were nice enough to allow us to eat at the preferred restaurant (believe it was called castaway) because my husband told someone at the lobby if there was something that could be done so we could eat. One thing that did concern us was that we had to wait about 10-15 minutes even though we saw empty clean tables and there was no rush to seat us. This was another moment we felt like we were not treated as well as we would have been if we were "preferred members." Only when my husband wrote that he was unhappy with our stay so far on the first night did we receive a call from the concierge asking if there was something they could do to make our stay better. The room we stayed at was on the first floor by the staircase. Lots if noise throughout the day and night, seemed like they were undergoing construction in another floor of the building we were in. We also experienced issues with the AC. Had to call maintenance about 3 times during our short stay. It was too hot then too cold and the cleaning crew took our comforter for some reason so we were extra cold. Third time we learned that the balcony door has to be completely closed or else the ac will shut off. Communication could have been better to let us know this. Room was outdated but spacious. We enjoyed the layout of the bathroom with the toilet enclosed, the shower, and hot tub. The room and bathroom could have been cleaner considering this was rated 5 stars. Food at the buffet was the best especially the taco and rice stations, we enjoyed it more than the restaurants. All the drinks we had were watered down, especially the sodas. We don't understand why sodas have to be watered down to that extent, no flavor at all, may as well have only ordered water. Capers, the Italian restaurant, seemed like they wanted us to leave right away and all the waiters were in a rush and looked stressed. The Mexican restaurant was the best restaurant and I had the best non alcoholic drink in that restaurant - the mango daiquiri. The banana bread at coco cafe is amazing as well as the mango smoothie. Latte and espresso were okay. The live violinist was great entertainment, have to give the resort credit for that part. The seaweed ruined the beach and the water was not blue at all. We didn't step foot on the beach at all. The other 2 resorts mentioned above had better beaches with blue water. There was a crew trying their best to get the seaweed out but it was too overwhelming, the time of year may have played a role. Horrible smell as well probably from the seaweed. Definitely do not come here if you are looking for a beach experience. We had watched youtube videos before deciding on this resort but it was nothing like the videos. The resort should also consider adding a ramp and a stroller storage at the beach area considering its a family resort so families with kids will be staying. That would've encouraged us to attempt to go on the beach even with all the seaweed. While most restaurants and the buffet offered a high chair, few times it took a long time until we were given one and once they forgot to give us one all together. At check out, no one asked us how our stay was and the staff were busy talking amongst themselves. Overall a horrible experience with a few positive moments. I highly suggest you consider other resorts besides Dreams! We wanted to become loyal to Dreams because we loved Dreams Aventura but this experience has made us decide to try other companies.

    Superb Service!

Muchísimas gracias to Victor Sanchez, Concierge, who had gone the extra mile from pre-arrival throughout clients’ stay at Dreams Jade! As a travel advisor, I could not have asked for better communication, kindness, and special attention given to mutual clients. Victor stayed in contact with me to arrange special accommodations on the beach in light of a last minute resort change. Not only this, with the help of his fellow concierge colleague, Danivet Rios, a graduation congratulation was prepared — decorations in the room — as they celebrated their teen daughter’s high school graduation in Mexico! And, a special recognition was arranged for the couple’s anniversary as well. Victor kept me informed the entire time and I am most appreciative for everything being orchestrated beautifully. Well done kind staff! You have gone the extra mile and deserve a lot of credit for superb guest service! There was a problem with the original room, and management quickly addressed the situation, moving them to a more suitable location, and accommodating with extra attention. I am very thankful to everyone who assisted in making this a vacation to remember! Thank you for everything!
