Jan 25, 2026Second visit. A little disappointing but would probably return.
The check in and check out was a pleasant experience. The front desk was also available to change your pesos. The housekeeping was excellent, friendly and seemed to follow our schedule so it was never inconvenient. We always tip the housekeeping staff. The beds were very comfortable but the pillows were hard. The coffee bar was excellent especially if you like variety - I would ask for the same thing every morning and get something different everyday. There are no more mezcal drinks at the mezcal bar just a $400 pesos tasting - this was very disappointing as we were looking forward to the fancy drinks we had last visit. The pools were fairly clean and I liked the fact that there was no swim up bar. The waiters around the pool and the beach were phenomenal, prompt and friendly. We tip them too. This was our second visit to this location so I have to share my comparison. The food was not near as good this time around and we actually returned the carbonara at the italian restaurant. Himitsu was still the best and we could always find something to eat at the buffet. The outdoor buffet was very good as was the show. You will have to go to the liquor store if you want some. The drinks were very watered down and the wine had low alcohol as well. We even tried a rum and coke which we seldom have and you could not smell or taste the rum even when we asked for a double - just to check that it wasn't our imagination. Sad since you pay for the all inclusive experience. If you don't drink alcohol you will have no trouble. Tip: Go in to town and take in the shopping experience and a few of the restaurants. Everyone is very friendly. Oh yes - the beach, nice walk. warm water and easy to swim. You would have to take a trip to snorkel.

The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are comfortable and roomy House keeper Amayrany did and excellent job and always very friendly. Alvaro was always there to help with all our needs and questions. Just a wonderful place to stay and more than helpful staff. Only issue that I can think of is activities. Pool volleyball is at 11:00 starts about 11:15 and only last 1/2 hour. Beach volleyball starts at 4:00 but maybe not until 4:30 and maybe play 1/2 max. They need to go to all the pools and announce beach volleyball because no one knows. But atherwise an excellent hotel with great staff

Fantastic Holiday and a great resort.
Fantastic Resort with unparalleled service from staff there. The staff at Dreams have consistently made our vacations a great experience. The resort itself is beautiful but what makes it are the people there.

Exceptional beach Hospitality from Alvaro and Sandy!
From the moment we arrived at the beach, Alvaro and Sandy made our stay at Dreams Huatulco unforgettable. Their attention to detail, friendliness, and genuine care went above and beyond. Whether it was finding the perfect spot in the shade, or bringing us fresh towels, they always made us feel special and cared for.They brought such positive energy and warmth — always with a smile and a kind word. It’s clear they take great pride in making every guest’s experience relaxing and enjoyable. Because of them, the beach area became one of our favorite parts of the resort.Thank you, Alvaro and Sandy, for your incredible service and hospitality! Authentic Mexican cuisine at its finest
The team at El Patio restaurant were the most charming and friendly we’ve ever met. This was authentic Mexican cuisine at its finest, and by far the best food of the six restaurants at this luxurious resort. They hosted an Oaxaca night with the specialties of the region, and had two amazing live music and dancing shows. Bravo team El Patio!
