  Great staff, so-so food. Boomer resort, younger people not so much.

  We just spent a week here and stayed in the Preferred Club. My last stay at a Dreams was in 2012 at their old resort in Puerto Vallarta which is now a Hyatt property. The beach is decent, and is nice for walking. They had included water sports which we really enjoyed, especially the sailing. There are numerous pools and the infinity pools were really nice, however in a weeks stay we never were able to secure a chair at one of the infinity pools. This hotel seriously needs to re-think its policy and or enforcement of chair reservations. Each day before 6 am, 90% of the pool chairs were taken. People would drop their stuff off and not come back for hours. The hotel has you sign a form saying you won't do this, but it isn't enforced whatsoever. I'm not an early morning person, and I'm on vacation. I shouldn't need to set my alarm to 5 am to beat the crowd of silver haired boomers reserving 30 chairs for their friends and family, half of whom may never show or if they do not until after lunch. Now thankfully the staff are trying their best to make the situation bearable. We were very thankful for the Preferred Club section of chairs at the far corner of the beach as it was the only spot we ever could find chairs for ourselves. Kudos to a staff member named Alvaro who was especially helpful in trying to make sure guests had somewhere to sit on the beach. Had it not been for him we were ready to give up and not bother with getting a chair at all. Our previous stays at Dreams resorts there were a la carte options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every single meal felt special. At this resort, only dinner is a la carte. Thankfully no reservations and no wristbands. The buffets were okay, a little repetitive, but often food was not hot when taken from their serving stations. We had a couple of really nice meals at their Mexican restaurant, and one nice meal at the Seafood restaurant. The rest were average or below. Having really enjoyed Dreams in the past the food here was really a let down. Also expecting vacationers on a one week vacation in the sun to pack a pair of dress shoes just to eat at the Italian restaurant was silly and meant a lot of guests missed out on this experience. Trainers for the gym, sandals for walking in town, flip flops for the beach, and now leather shoes for one a la carte meal? It's silliness at its finest. The bars are all great, the lovely lady who takes care of the 6th floor preferred club bar was my favourite. (Gaciella?) We really enjoyed the Mescal cocktail bar on the second floor as well. Room was decent, we had booked a king room but received two doubles. However we had good air conditioning, a nice view, and no hot water issues so we decided to not make a fuss and keep it. Internet was excellent in all corners of the resort. Check in and out was super efficient, and Freddy who we dealt with could not have been more friendly or helpful. This hotel has amazing staff and the location is really good. We probably wouldn't return though mainly because of the food quality being very average for what is supposed to be a 4+ star hotel, and the stress in finding a chair by the pool after 10am. Fix the food back to the old "Dreams" standard, and either double the amount of beach chairs with shade or enforce their own rules and this could be a 5 star hotel.

  "Dreams" come true in Huatulco!

  Relaxed vibe with excellent service. Great amenities and pool side and beach front were amazing. Staff was very friendly, accommodating and facility was very clean.

  Excellent resort to relax. Great food in the Asian and Italian restaurants. World cafe buffet exceptional. Outstanding service from Eliel at breakfast and lunch. Infinity pools have amazing view of the ocean. Outdoor dining events twice a week have huge selection of food, with great entertainment. We have been 3 times over the years and weather is always perfect. Highly recommend this location and resort.

  A great resort but get up early if you want a chair

  Truly a lovely resort with a beautiful swimmable beach. Unfortunately they have many more guests than beach chairs and umbrellas so you'll have to be an early riser to get a good spot.

  2026 Vacation

  It was very pleasant experience. Our stay was very relaxing. We will most likely return in future. Is there a discount for the returning customers ?
