This is a Great Resort
First of all this is a great resort . Second The beach is tried with at the Hotel Eden in Toncones as the best beach on the Pacfic Coast of Mexico. Third I stayed in the Preferred Club. Which was worth the money . Fourth the Oxacan night was great . Fifth the Seaside Grill had the best lunch buffet in Mexico . Sixth they have great swimming pools one for adults only . Seventh they have great beach bar . Lastly, there were two drawbacks the resort was short of pool and beach towels and the resort was run down . However this didn’t stop me from loving this resort.

Nice Relaxing Resort
We just returned from our trip and thought we would do a bit of a review. First, we love Huatulco. We have travelled to a number of locations in Mexico and have been to Huatulco twice and it’s by far our favourite place. This resort was good. Not great but good. Check in was quick and easy until they pull you aside to give you “coupons” which are connected to the timeshares or vacation club. They need to tell you that up front and ask if you are interested in that before wasting your and their time. It sets the vacation off on a bit of a negative tone because we were annoyed and felt bad. The room was nice clean and the beds were comfortable and the mini bar had a nice variety of beverages. We stayed at the adult pool most of our stay and it was quiet and relaxing. Some of the challenges: food - it was not great with a few exceptions. The Asian restaurant was good as was the Italian. The taco station at the Mexican restaurant was great as were the nachos. The rest of the food was meh. We went for lunch and it seemed like it was a surprise to staff that the restaurants were opened - one day 10 minutes after the buffet was supposed to be open they were still bring out food and hadn’t started cooking anything yet. In the outdoor restaurant at lunch they would make burgers but only a few at a time and the lines were really long. Lots of items at the restaurants remained covered so you weren’t sure if you should open them or not. I will preface this by saying I am a picky eater but my husband is not… we had a hard time finding something good to eat. The food was disappointing for the most part. There also had a space problem, all the chairs were reserved by 6:30 am ever morning. They tried to manage this but it wasn’t effective. This isn’t just a Dreams problem, it is a resort issues in general. What is a dreams problem though is the lack of umbrellas for shade. When they would run out of umbrellas at the other pools, they would come to the adult pool and remove umbrellas often times from chairs that were already occupied but the occupants were not around and were surprised to see when they returned. Overall this was a good resort in a good location and we would come back would hope for better food!

Great staff, awful food
I have been to this resort twice now and the only thing that has been consistent is how bad the food is. Pretty much everything else is great! The staff are amazing especially the entertainment team and I can’t praise them enough for their hard work. However I won’t come back because I’ve gotten sick from the food at this resort twice and I had to be on antibiotics the last time. The drinks taste so radioactive and are so inconsistent. The beach on this resort is beautiful and the sand is so soft. With that being said my fiancé had to get up at 5am every morning to save us chairs by the pool and if you aren’t sitting there the security takes your stuff away and gives it to concierge to free up the chairs so beware of that. Huatulco is beautiful but I don’t think the risk is worth the money in my opinion.

Great service all around
Alexander & chiconai provided a great service going above and beyond even getting us some chile flakes for our pasta and pizza. Over all food was good but could do with a little more variety.
