  Awesome Vacation!

  We recently spent a wonderful week at Dreams Huatulco. This resort exceeded our expectations in many ways! The room was clean and well maintained. We had a “preferred” ocean front room and the view was fabulous! It was located above the main plaza area so we could watch most of the entertainment from our balcony. Because of this location, there was some noise but it wasn’t excessive and was over by 11 pm. The special events at the plaza were elaborate and well planned. A lot of effort went into setting them up and making it a special event! The food was great, especially the ala carte restaurants. We went to all of them except the Mexican restaurant. The buffets were average with a decent selection, although some of the food wasn’t always the freshest. The beach was very clean and well maintained. We were able to enjoy swimming every day! The staff were amazing and willing to accommodate however they could. Sandy and Alvaro at the preferred club beach area were exceptional and went out of their way to help in any way they could! Daisy, concierge at the preferred check-in desk was also wonderful! She was so friendly and helped us many times from the time she checked us in until we left. Eduardo at the Seaside Grill also deserves special mention. He too was very friendly and accommodating! Truly, all of the staff were very welcoming and went above and beyond! Overall, our trip was amazing and we would definitely recommend Dreams! We hope to return again someday!

  Very Nice resort

  Very nice resort but it needs several "fix-ups" here and there. Breakfast was unbelievably delicious. The pools were gorgeous, as was the beach. Wish there were more pool lounging chairs, in 7 days we only were able to grab one once. People would reserve them at 6:30am and not use them until after 10:30am. This should not be allowed.

  Paradise at Dreams Huatulco

  This was our second time to Huatulco first time at Dreams and it was amazing. Location is perfect, close to shops, restaurants and the town with markets. Rooms were nice, food was good especially at the al la cartes, the Asian and Italian one were our favourite. We did the lobster night for an additional charge and felt it was well worth it. The gorgeous beach and the incredibly friendly, attentive staff will keep us coming back to Dreams. Special shout out to Habid at the front lobby/concierge who ensured we were always well taken care of, Alvaro in preferred club for always ensuring we had a beach chair and Eddie for the amazing service and drinks. We will see you again next year!

  Honeymoon in Huatulco

  My husband and I visited Dreams for our honeymoon from February 2-11, 2026. We absolutely loved our stay and I could ramble on for hours but the main highlights for us were: •the friendliness of all of the staff, with particular above and beyond service from Aury, Meder, Leticia, Leonel, Alberto, Maximinio, and Christina. There are many more to list but those are the ones I can remember the names of! Leticia even bought has a lovely gift as a goodbye present for our last day which was incredibly unexpected and thoughtful! •we started out in a tropical garden view room that overlooked one of the adult pools next to the Japanese restaurant. It was nice enough, but had two double beds which was disappointing given the number of times we tired to have that changed before we arrived. There was a jacuzzi on our balcony but we didn’t use it because the water wasn’t very warm and the plug wasn’t exactly functional. Before we travelled, my husband had also sent messages to the hotel asking for something special and romantic to be waiting for us when we arrived, but there wasn’t anything. We were able to upgrade our room on our fourth day and spent the rest of the trip in a king size ocean view room that was absolutely beautiful. I was able to arrange with the concierge to have a rose petal design on the bed and chocolate covered strawberries - they did a really great job! My husband had also arranged for us to do the candlelight multi course meal on the beach on our second night and that was very special although I will say the mosquitoes definitely dampened our experience a bit! •when I arrived I was very sick. I realized during travel that I was feeling unwell, so we got room service for supper on our first night so I could go to bed early. I woke up knowing I had tonsillitis so we went to the Farmacio to get antibiotics. We had a language barrier and they were not going to help me but our awesome taxi driver, Alfredo, stepped in and made them assess me and write me prescriptions. The assessment at the doctor was free but he didn’t touch me a single time or take my temperature or blood pressure, but I got my antibiotics so that was good. The next day, I woke up feeling much worse, really high temperature and a lot of pain. We went to see the doctor at the resort and he was amazing! Dr. Andres Gonzalez Ayvar was easy to communicate with and very thorough and professional in his assessment. He disagreed with the previous antibiotic I had been prescribed and instead wrote me a new one. He gave me a shot for inflammation and one with an antibiotic and I felt instant relief. The antibiotics he put me on helped very quickly and I was feeling well enough to go the 7 bays tour the next day. • we arranged the 7 bay tour through Amstar. Aury was very helpful and it was a really fun tour! We visited a beach that had many vendors where I was able to buy some lovely jewelry and the best pins colada of my life. We then traveled to another beach for lunch. I ordered what I thought was chicken but turned out to be beef and my husband ordered 4x4 shrimp which was an insane amount of food. I didn’t particularly care for the lunch but the mango margarita was good!Highly recommend this tour to anybody visiting Huatulco! •my husband is a fisherman and he was considering going out on one of the guided fishing tours. One day on the beach, we ran into a fellow named Pancho who was quite pushy. My husband had been indulging in cocktails and decided it was a great idea so we paid 3100 pesos as a deposit and my husband agreed to meet Pancho on the beach the next morning. Unfortunately poor weather halted the tour and we received a message from Pancho saying they couldn’t go that day. This was the only day we didn’t have other plans so we asked Pancho for the deposit back, less 500 pesos for his trouble. Pancho came back and said he had already spent the money on fuel and drinks and would not be refunding any of the deposit. This was a very disappointing situation, we should have booked through Amstar and I caution other visitors against using Pancho, who should have weather refunds as part of his service given the unpredictability of the ocean. •we took one other tour through Amstar - the waterfalls. The bus trip to the waterfall was a real low point. We ended up crammed into the back bench seat with two other people and it was very cramped and the air conditioning didn’t reach the back. The drive was long - nearly two hours - and annoying, with speed bumps every couple of metres and a very windy and terrifying road up through the mountains to where the waterfalls were. Our tour guide was wonderful and knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the region during the drive. The waterfalls were breathtaking and it was amazing to swim in the water. My husband was brave enough to jump from the top and also did the rope swing. When I dropped his (waterproof) phone into the water, our tour guide dove right in and snatched it up for me. After swimming in the waterfalls, we went to a restaurant that served us a delicious lunch with some of the best mole I’ve ever had. I wish they’d had margaritas, but it was still delicious and authentic! •the restaurants at the resort were great although we didn’t try all of them. I don’t eat seafood so we skipped oceana. We liked the Japanese one so much we ate supper there three times! I will be dreaming about the gyoza there for the rest of my life - or until we go again! Portofino was also a highlight with an antipasto bar and incredible service. I didn’t know that el patio had a taco bar nightly - it wasn’t mentioned in the app, and the menu didn’t look that interesting to me although I would have loved the taco bar, so we also didn’t go there, opting to visit the town instead for some authentic tacos. Breakfast and lunch at the buffets were mostly all the same daily but it was a great selection. We also visited the premium lounge for a couple of mid day snacks and it was a lovely and quiet location. I bought a pool floaty in town and highly recommend it for relaxing days in the pool. They even inflate it for you right at the beach! The servers at the pools were all fantastic and generally pretty quick. We didn’t get up at the crack of dawn to reserve chairs like many other people but we never had trouble finding a spot. Since we had upgraded to premium, we spent a little bit of time down at the premium section on Barracuda but this was the most fish populated area and I’m afraid of them so I stuck to the middle section of the beach so I could avoid them. In town on our last day, we popped into a couple of shops to buy souvenirs. There are some very talented merchants and so many beautiful items, I had a hard time controlling myself! Our cab driver took us to Ciolito-Lindo restaurant and bar and it was one of the most phenomenal experiences I’ve ever had. They went out into the street to chop a coconut for my drink and filled with tequila and the coconut water - it was artistic and refreshing! The food was absolutely a 10/10 and the service, the decor, and the ambiance was just unbelievable! Definitely go to this spot if you plan on venturing off resort for any dining! After we ate, we went up to the lighthouse for some breathtaking photos and views - it is a very busy spot around 5 pm. Overall, we absolutely loved the resort and all of the staff. It was clean, beds were comfortable, the pools were wonderful, the theme parties like Mexican Night and the Super Bowl party were unreal, service was phenomenal, food was great with so many options, and of course the drinks were delicious! Being sick in a foreign country can be a little scary and I’m so thankful to the medical team at Dreams. I usually don’t like the idea of returning to a resort multiple times but we are already planning to return to this amazing place next year! Thank you to the amazing staff at Dreams for an unforgettable honeymoon - I cannot recommend this resort enough!

  Dreaming of Dreams

  This location and facility is beautiful and superbly laid out. Even the elevators worked extremely quickly. The staff is incredibly obliging and eager to please. Our favourite was Fabian who worked often in the prestige room but all were wonderful. For seniors the grounds were flat and well maintained making getting around easy. The only criticism I would have is the world cafe buffet lacked in variety and quality leading us to use the room service which had really good food on its menu.
