    Great Resort, wonderful time

    I visited the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort Feb. 29 - Mar. 7 as part of a girls trip. First off, for three women sharing a room the amount of storage is amazing. It was everywhere. Thank you for thinking this out so well. Since it just went through a remodel the rooms are new, clean and stylish as you would expect. The resort is easy to get around. They are still working on a few items, but nothing that made me regret my visit to Curacao. If you want a very relaxing vacation this could be it. I would definitely return in the future. A great deal of people rent cars and although we didn't expect to do that, we did it for one day and would certainly do it for an entire week the next time. The beach area is small which can be a negative or positive depending on what you like to do. My friends and I enjoy walking the beach for lunch, cocktails or dinner so this was really the only downside for us. Looking forward to some happy hour specials because drinks around the pool can add up. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and willing to help in any way possible. A few to give credit to are Junior, Fresnel, head bartender, Frant (I believe), Yordi, Aimee, Kevin, and Bassima. Thanks for making our trip wonderful with your great service. Lastly, coming and going through the Curacao airport was a breeze. I'm not sure if it's always that easy but we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived and left on Saturday which I would assume are busy days, but it was easy and fast.

    Don't expect too much!

    Not ready for business, bar tenders cant make good drinks, no swim up bar, no pool side bar service, no good beach bar service, not a FUN atmosphere and please stop the shows at night until you do a good show, I felt sorry for the performers!

    Great beach

    I could tell it is going to be really nice once it is all done but while we were there they were still working on finishing up cabanas in pool areas. Room was nice and clean and spacious. The food at all the restaurants in the hotel was good just a little pricey for what you get... but that is expected when u eat at resort.

    Disappointment

    I want to share about my stay experience. That was our 1st visit after renovation and a huge disappointment. The rooms very modern and spacious but cleaning has a lot of space for improvement. Also the fire drills totally not necessary at 5:30 am.Also renovation is still in process and effects quite beach time.Also very limited umbrellas for the big beautiful beach. Another issue not having security on the beach which would be nice for the prevention from locals having not an appropriate behavior with the sexual content.

    Good Hotel, but not Great Yet

    This was our 4th trip to Curacao and our first time at the Marriott. It’s very good, but not great. The hotel is brand new and in excellent condition. We were not impressed with the restaurants. They were as expected overpriced, but didn’t seem special enough to justify the cost. Since we had a car we usually went out for dinner. They are still finishing some outside construction as of early March. This was a little inconvenient but didn’t bother us that much. The Pros: • Great location and hotel design • Friendly & helpful staff for the most part • Very good white sandy beach with moderate waves • Outstanding snorkeling a few hundred feet from the beach • Large, clean rooms with very large bathrooms • In room refrigerator and Nespresso machine • 2 pools (family pool for wading and an adult pool for swimming laps) • Plenty of beach/pool lounge chairs, but if you want shade you need to be on the beach by 8:00 to “reserve” your spot with towels and personal items. The Cons: • European style electrical outlets. If you live in the US, bring adapters • No upgrades or recognition for Gold VIP member (maybe gold level is too low for them to notice) • House keeping service was spotty. One day we came back from the beach at 5:30 to see the maid just starting to clean our room. We had to wait on the balcony for 45min for her to finish before we could shower. • Our coffee machine broke and I called for a replacement, which never came. I needed to call again the next day, and they finally sent one. • On the last day, we arranged a later checkout. When we returned to our room shortly after 12:00 the key didn’t work. I went down to the desk and they had no record of our late checkout. After 10 minutes of “looking” they could not reactivate my key so someone from the front desk needed to walk to my room to let me in.
