Small but relaxing
The resort is small and relaxed, so if you are looking for resort nightlife and coordinated activities, this is not the one for you. The town nightlife is great, so if you want dance clubs and bars, you have to head into town. Overall, the resort staff is respectful, but not as attentive as on other islands. This is due to a few factors, one of which I believe is that they don’t work for tips, as their minimum wage is higher than other Caribbean islands. So there is little hustle to get your drink quickly or provide amenities quickly. We asked for extra pillows and never got them. The rooms are clean, but a little dated. There aren’t a lot of outlets for charging all the electronics people have. Room service and the restaurants were often out of food listed on the menus and room service changed things out without warning a few times. Room service also takes a very long time. The food is good overall. Again, it is a small resort so there are only three restaurants in addition to the buffet, but they have good variety. Lines start to form a half hour before the Italian place opens, and wait times quickly grow to over an hour, so be prepared to put your name in and head to the bar for a drink. The gym is spacious. Coco cafe could have more options and ran out of ice cream most days by 6pm. The beach is small and rocky, but once you get out past the rocks, the water is gorgeous. There is only one adult pool and one kiddie pool, but both were never crowded. We stayed 4 nights and that was plenty.

Not a good experience
We travel every year for Christmas to a different island in the Caribbean. This is the 10th year we have done this and this was one of the worst experiences we have had. Curacao is absolutely beautiful and the locals are amazing, I would NOT recommend staying at Dreams. The facility is dated and in need of a major upgrade. Restaurants are very limited and food is mediocre at best. Staff was not very friendly. Most did not make eye contact and only spoke if you spoke first. There was no pool bar even thought the website hints of one.

Not a good experience
This hotel needs serious renovations. From the employees that are not friendly and rude to the rooms that need an overhaul. From the time I stepped into the resort I experienced nothing but nasty looks and stank attitudes. The women act as though they hate their jobs and you are bothering you when you request some things. Housekeeping was pleasant, but the front desk, hostess and gift shop attendants have serious attitudes. Then once I entered my room it went down hill from there. They attempted to paint the tub, but it was peeling in the tub and falling during my shower. The tile above the tub was coming down and filled with dirt. When I tried to turn on the water in the tub the knob came completely off. The grout is brown and peeling around the base of the tub. The food was mediocre at best. I’m not happy or thrilled about my experience at this resort and would not recommend or return. I’m not seeking any compensation or discounts to return, I would just like the hotel to look into these issues and make the necessary changes so that future guests do not experience this type of treatment.

Review: IL MARE Worth It
This is for the IL MARE part of the resort. It was great - the pods were fantastic - GREAT view, AC kept it super cool ( to the point we had to make it warmer a few times), nice, hot water in shower. The private pool, restaurant, and bar for Il Mare only, was private with no waiting. The staff was great - Victor at the bar, and the butlers Rendy, Romke, Kobe - all fantastic. I don't go to an all-inclusive expecting great food but the food at Il Mare was good for AI. If you're going - pay for the upgrade and stay in the pods.

Less than promised. Poorly run and understaffed.
This is a compact property and is easy to walk to the pool, beach, and restaurants. We loved the swimming; you could snorkel right off the beach. The beach is in a cove and so is protected from the wind and waves. We enjoyed the evening shows especially "fire and light" on the beach. However, if you are thinking Hyatt -- don't; think Super 8. It is poorly run and understaffed. The Buffet is small and plain (think Cuba); they serve cereal at breakfast and soup at lunch but there are no bowls??!! There is no schedule as to which restaurant will be open and no reservations. The maid would refresh the room around 4 pm but it was random as to what clean towels she might have.
