Dreams? More like a nightmare. Disgusting - stay away and book another Dreams location.

Oh where do I start and will be as honest as I can be. We have stayed at other Dreams facilities and that is the primary reason why we chose to book this vacation. Booked preferred accommodation and had a room close to 1,150 square feet with balcony - if you call it that. Resort looks beautiful from pictures and then it goes downhill. The Dreams beach area is relatively small. So do not get your heart set on the typical beach you find at other Dreams resorts. Room - smelled like Mexican portable toilet after 2nd day. Call to concierge and staff member came and did something to shower drain and placed air freshener in the A/C. Solved the smell - not so fast. Within 24 hours smell returns and two partially successful visits by staff and frustration on our part ensued. Smell still lingered. Then the 4th visit I shut door on staff member as they had no idea what to do. Told him to have concierge come into room with him. When she came into room and first thing she said was - Smells very bad. Room 2828 - told them if they cannot fix the issue take the room out of service. Then the balcony - 3' wide at most. One could not position chair to sit and look out - had to position chair to look sideways. Two chairs for this size of room? Then don't look at the glass on the balcony - had not been cleaned in weeks as had all sorts of "stuff" on the balcony glass. Even if we wanted to sit outside - no desire to look at bird excrement (could not use the real word as they viewed as profanity), food droppings etc. Normally we spent lots of time on the balcony - this visit no more than 30 minutes. Disgusting. The hallways were appalling - filthy with all sorts of random stuff on the floors including used bandages etc. Just as a test - one day I noticed a goldfish cracker along the wall and wanted to see how long it would stay there. 4 days later was still there. Management needs to walk the facility and ask themselves the question - if I was spending money and time to visit - would I accept this type of maintenance / rooms that smell like portable toilet and balcony glass that looked like it was growing some sort of science experiment. Why does guest have to call to complain - hotel staff should see these and move to correct. Previous Dreams locations with preferred accommodation - we had our own restaurant for breakfast to order off menu or go to the buffet next door. Not this one - they have no idea what needs to be done to justify the preferred upcharge. Paid additional $4,000+ for what? Lots of other stuff however have said enough - will finish with two items. On check out management came to apologize for our experience and offered me certificate to apply against next Dreams stay. I asked - any Dreams or this one? They advised this one and I told them I would pass - even if it was for a completely free stay, I would pass as my time is too valuable to me to spend another day at this resort. On departure my 7-year-old daughter said - I never want to come back here again. The honesty of a 7-year-old

    Great family vacation.

The staff was outstanding. I would like to give a shout out to the following staff members. Julio was our cabana attendant and he was great. He also had Erick and Victor who were just as great. Jesus Cabrera one of the supervisor at the front desk was outstanding as well. Also David, the cabana manager had everything set up for us. And last and not least was the best butler, Ramses. He was great.

    Luxurious resort, will come back!

The resort exceeded our expectations in many ways but also fell short in others. It’s a beautiful property, quite expansive and getting around can be confusing. The elevators don’t all go to the same floors so there’s a lot of connections you have to do from one elevator to the next to get where you want to go. The resort is modern and feels fresh. There’s plenty to do and you don’t feel too over crowded even in the pool areas. The water park was a huge hit with the kids. The quality of the food was also very good for an all inclusive resort. Most of this staff were very friendly and helpful. We were welcomed as Hyatt Globalists and were upgraded to a master suite-I had already used a suite upgrade but apparently they upgraded on top of that? The preferred club lounge which we had access to was not very impressive, very small and limited options but it was nice for the kids to run in and grab a bag of chips. The in room snacks provided were very limited and they refused to bring more than one small can of Pringle’s and M&Ms even though there were 4 of us in the suite. They kept reiterating that they can only do maximum 2 a day, which was strange. We also had to repeatedly request additional sodas if we wanted some and they didn’t alway bring it. The most frustrating thing was the wait time at the restaurants which were upwards of an hour nightly. So we had to time when we wanted to eat and head down earlier and wait at one point for 1.5 hours. Reservations were impossible to make for the tepanyaki experience, they opened up reservations on the app at midnight for next day, but they didn’t relay any of this information to us, I finally complained to our concierge who then explained and then ended up making reservations for us on our last night. Service was mostly slow at the restaurants and a few times at the buffet we had no service. The buffet options were also limited and long wait times for grill options such as tacos and eggs. The entertainment at the resort was great. The NYE party was absolutely spectacular and beautiful and so much attention to detail. It was one of the best events I have been to at any resort. Very impressive and memorable. The kids club was also fantastic with structured activities and fun things, our kids didn’t mind going and actually had fun. We enjoyed the spa tremendously, our massages were great and the staff was very friendly. Overall we enjoyed our time and will be returning to the resort.

    10/10 recommend

We just returned from an amazing week at this resort. It was beautiful, modern and clean. The rooms were spacious. The food was amazing!!! Service was wonderful. Check in was fast and easy! The pools were beautiful and so much fun for the kids with the multiple options for slides etc. Wanted to give a very special shoutout to Wendy from the entertainment team, she was FABULOUS with our kids and made them feel so special. We also wanted to thank Sergio and Trini from the Seaside Grill for going above and beyond and being so outstanding, helping us celebrate two family birthdays. This was a trip we won't forget!

Loved Secrets Moxche; extremely disappointed in this resort.

I rarely post reviews, but want to ensure others see this to potentially prevent disappointment when spending a lot of money for a vacation. My Wife and I have stayed at Secrets previously and were very excited based on that experience, but were quickly let down. We were very disappointed in the layout and amount of wasted space. Our "suite" was not a suite, but simply two connecting rooms. The drinks at the bar were terrible and there was a different level of alcohol served for Dreams vs Secrets, which should not be the case at an all-inclusive resort. Unfortunate, but understandable, but the the English spoken by employees wasn't the best. Water Park amenities didn't open until 1100 daily. Yes, 1100. NYE we were "forced" to pay for a table that cost between $ 400-600 because "there the resort wouldn't guarantee seating and there was only one restaurant open on NYE and was adults only".
