Wonderful place
I really enjoyed my stay at puerto aventuras service was excellent food amazing. The only downside I guess would be the little beach area no waves and the pool not that deep I guess it was because it’s a family resort. But I 100% recommend it . The natural pool was also amazing

Solid choice for Mexico stay, walkable community
Solid choice for a Mexico family oriented vacation. Nice lagoon area for swimming. I swam outside of the area and did some snorkeling along the barrier and along some of the adjacent resorts, not sure how safe for allowed this is technically. You’re able to rent kayaks and stand up paddle boats at no charge from the resorts private beach but they monitor more closely that you don’t leave the lagoon area. There is also a smaller private natural pool area which was very interesting to explore. However, the tide can leave trash behind which didn’t seem to be picked up by hotel staff. I also noticed large sea urchins so use caution when entering and exiting the natural pool. Morning yoga sessions on the gazebo were a highlight. They employ rotating professionals from the Fit Bodies program which was insightful to me. The two rotating professionals I experienced classes with during my stay were both excellent. The bike tour was also fun, but I wish we could take bikes out on our own or rent them directly from the hotel. Luckily, there are enough shops in town that this could be something you could get from somewhere nearby and would probably be worth considering. Food was a mixed bag but overall good enough. I thought that Oceana was great but the 7th floor members club lounge area was terrible. The little coffee and ice cream place in the lobby was surprisingly great. Main buffet had enough food options to find something good each day. There were enough options to make for a decent week. The resort is located in Puerto Aventuras which is a gated walkable community that felt safe to adventure and explore. Additionally, the hotel still had security at the front, checking people in and out, so it felt very secure. We rented a golf cart from the resort for a few hours for about $60 USD to check out the entire town. It was worth it and fun to do for a half-day.

It’s a plus minus the food
3.5 out of 5 stars. Nice location, fantastic lagoon, terrible food. Lovely service, spa was fantastic (book early in the am) Brenda has magic hands and a sweet spirit. Hydrotherapy pool is a must. Meals at any restaurant are very reminiscent of the “senior” high blood pressure version. Otherwise, the resort is lovely, the lagoon is a plus especially considering all other beaches are fairly rocky.

A good vacation
Overall a good experience for an all-inclusive with our kids. The restaurants were nice, the pool and beach areas were nice, everything was nice. The main negative we faced was that it seemed we needed to reserve pool/beach chairs early or we wouldn't have a spot. We found out on the last day that a concierge can move belongings off chairs but it still seems awkward. Still a good trip!

First time at this resort!
Just left here after a 7 day vacation with my husband 12 year old and 7 year old. Honestly, a smaller resort but that worked out perfectly for us! Our room was beautiful we stayed in the preferred rooms on the 5th floor. We had 1 king bed and a pull out which was comfortable. The service was really good on my opinion. Anita at the coffee bar was so lovely and Luis from the Gohan Asian resto was lovely. We never had an issue finding chairs on the beach and I love the fact that it was so close to the beach where my kids could go back and fourth. The food was hit or miss mostly at the buffet but Portifono and Gohan were my favourites. The staff was soo helpful from the beach to the front desk. If you are looking for a smaller resort where you can just relax this is it!
