  Wedding/ Holiday

  Let me start by saying that I do not routinely leave reviews on websites however this place deserves one. Let me also say that I’d strongly suggest that you ignore any particularly negative reviews if there are any as the author of such review should really have a look at themselves in the mirror. Accommodation- Amazing. The main lobby is beautiful and a really nice place to lounge about in post entertainment over a couple of drinks. The gardens are beautifully designed and very well maintained and the view from the lobby towards the ocean is picture perfect. My wife and I were upgraded upon arrival as we got married here during our stay and were given a Preferred suite with swim up pool and butler service. The rooms are very nice and are complimented by a super king size bed which was very comfortable. The room was spacious and had air conditioning which could be adjusted or turned on/ off. The rooms are like a nice house. If you go through them with a fine tooth comb you are bound to notice some imperfections but it’s still a nice house regardless. Attention Hyatt/ Dreams!! Special shout out to OMAR our complimentary Butler. What a gentleman. This young man deserves a wage rise or a bonus. I appreciate he is here to perform a role however he done it with considerable professionalism each and every day during our 9 night stay. Staff- phenomenal. These guys and girls work very long hrs and many days in a row without a day off yet they go about their working day with a bounce in their step and a smile on their faces. Some even sing and dance….. just because! The staff really do treat you like royalty here which really enhances the experience. Show a little common courtesy and the staff give you it back in spades! Food- The food in the individual restaurants is close to 5 star quality. The Asian and French restaurants in particular provided a really high quality. The World Cafe (buffet) is huge and is capable of and does provide for literally hundreds of people each day. The presentation I would describe as 5 star and the general quality and taste of the food here is more than adequate. Maybe not quite 5 star quality but it’s definitely above average in my opinion. Entertainment- It’s a family resort and the entertainment is there to cater for everyone. It’s fairly typical for a family resort and it quite effortlessly passes the time. Pools/ Bars- Brilliant. Plenty bar staff available to serve or bring you drinks by the pool. Main pool was never overcrowded and has a nice view down to the beach. Special shout out to the staff at Bar Baracuda. Geici and Marlsi were particularly attentive and couldn’t do enough for us! The drinks here are quality also! Also make sure you visit the Coco cafe where the coffee is excellent and is available 24 hrs per day. The Beach- Beautiful at all times of the day. The water was like a warm bath but the sea can be rough and beware of the occasional riptide. The life guard had to spring into action on a few occasions. I’ll finish off by saying that I’ve never been to a hotel with this amount of staff. Every corner you turned there was multiple staff members on hand to assist you. Also, thanks to Andre our wedding planner who helped make our big day on the beach one to remember along with our party of 20 family and friends. I’d definitely consider coming back here as would everyone who travelled with us. Overall I reckon it deserves its 5 star rating so if you are looking to visit the Caribbean I’d highly recommend this resort.

  Great for family and surfing

  It was an amazing time. The staff were stand out! Friendliest I have had the pleasure of interacting with in the Caribbean and Central America. If you are a surfer looking for an all-inclusive for the family, but also has waves and surf rentals, this is the place for you. It’s hard to find info on it, and the resort should capitalize on it more, but they are in a unique position as one of the few all-inclusives of this scale that sits right on a beach with real waves (and in the Caribbean of all places!)

  Dreams Macao is a Dream Vacation

  My favorite resort so far! My family just spent a week at Dreams Macao and had the best experience! If you are like me, and have read the negative reviews and are nervous about an upcoming trip, don't be! We have traveled all over the Caribbean to 5 Star resorts and to Mexico, and we all agreed that this has been our favorite! The staff set this resort apart. The staff are the friendliest, most helpful, energetic, and responsive! They greet you with the biggest smile, and work so hard to ensure you have a great stay! We have four children (ages 12, 10, 9, & 5). We all loved the water park! The entertainment during the day and evenings was spectacular for families. Baby Face on the Entertainment team kept my boys engaged in games, soccer, volleyball, pool side challenges and they would go looking for him every morning. Diana on the Entertainment team, 10 stars! This young girl is the sweetest, friendliest, happiest staff. One night I lost my phone in the sand and it started to rain and all the guest ran for cover and I thought my phone and all my memories were gone, but she stayed with me and searched the sand, calling my phone, and she found it! We did the Preferred Club and I highly recommend the upgrade. This is why, I loved the Preferred Club pool! It was quiet, more relaxing, the service was great! Rigoberto would go over to Coco Cafe and bring me Frappe's even though I could have walked over and got it myself. The bar at the Preferred Club family pool was my favorite. The ladies working there were so friendly and the drinks were great. The main pool was a bit too loud and active for me, so we spent our time at the Preferred Club pool. We loved all the food options! Oceana and Himitsu were our favorite dinner spots. The Taco truck down at the Waterpark is where we ate fish tacos every lunch! They were amazing!! I loved having the Barefoot Grill right there by the Preferred Club pool for lunch for my kiddos! Great hamburgers and the grilled chicken is delicious!! We stayed in the 2 bedroom Villa and loved the space! No complaints and we would book the same Villa again. My kids are all old enough that I didn't need the Explorer's Club but man how I wish I would have known about this resort when my kids were younger! We have been to many resorts that say they have a kids club, but this one was the best. We had our younger 3 go one night and the staff were awesome! They had so much fun and it's included in your stay, no hidden fees! I also loved seeing the staff out and about the resort with the kids during the day! The staff/child ratios were small, the staff was so friendly, happy, and energetic, they were seen swimming in the toddler pool area, interacting, and the kids were having a great time. This is not what I've experienced at other resorts. So if you have kids 3-12 and want a resort where you can have kid free time and know they are also having fun, this is a great place to go! My only warning, and this is out of the control of Dreams, the ocean water is rough. The waves are a blast to play in, but the current is strong. So be cautious and know your limits. We saw a water rescue on our last day. The lifeguard spotted a woman in trouble and he was amazing getting to her and he did rescue her, but the tide quickly swept her out. If you are hesitant to book based on other reviews, don't be. The people at this resort stand out and you will have a lovely visit. We are already planning when we will go back!

  Amazing Vacation!!

  We just checked out of Dreams Macao after spending 7 nights there for a family vacation, and I honestly have nothing but amazing things to say. The resort was beautiful, super clean, and the food was great, but what really made our week so special was the Kids Club and Entertainment staff. Queen, Candy, Moana, Cuteness, and Rainbow at the Kids Club were all amazing with our kids. And a huge special shout-out to Medallia (Baby Face) from the Entertainment Crew, he truly made the trip 100x better for our kids. They absolutely loved him! The resort is so lucky to have him as part of their team. We will definitely be back, all thanks to the incredible people who made our trip so memorable!
