Jan 09, 2026DON'T TRUST THIS RESORT
I purchased a membership in 2015 for a total of $26,000 USD. The primary and only reason we bought this membership was for the free nights, which we were told would be valid for 25 years. Recently, when I attempted to use the 7 free nights I still had remaining, I was informed that they had expired and were only valid for 5 years. This directly contradicts what was represented to us at the time of purchase. When I asked why I was never notified by email or any other method that these nights were about to expire, I was told it was not their responsibility. I then asked if they would at least reinstate half of the nights as a goodwill gesture. This request was also denied. I gave the company the opportunity to acknowledge that we were misled at the time of sale and to correct the situation by restoring the nights. They refused. Based on my experience, I believe this membership was sold under false or misleading representations. I strongly caution others to think twice before giving this company their money. Had I known the free nights would expire after five years, I would never have purchased this membership. BRIAN B CANADA

First trip and we had a great time. What stands out is the social side of it all, the resort is full of genuinely happy, connected couples that want to say hi and chat (no pressure)… and that means that from day one, there's a community feel. You'll definitely meet groups of people to hang out with if that's what you want. Each day flows nicely into the night without any lull (breakfast, pool, hot tub, dinner, show, dance) and just gets better as it goes. Resorts we’ve stayed in the past have had clubs/discos but they’ve largely been poor and empty - here, excellent DJs keep the party going (Mauro and Vic in particular) and the packed club was a brilliant end to every night before a dip in the hot tub and a pizza :) Shout out to the bar and serving staff across the resort; friendly, helpful and fun. The playmakers are amazing and such a valuable part of the experience. On the negative side… the food should really be better for a resort of this price. It’s broadly fine, but not as good as any of the 6 resorts we’ve stayed at previously. Hands up, we were nervous about going - but we really needn’t have been and you can add us to the long list of returnees hopefully very soon!

The best trip from the amazing food to the amazing service to the best night life. DJ Mauro and DJ Vic were amazing.
We absolutely love Desire, there is no other place quite like it. This is our 17th trip and every trip seems to get better.

Music Improved so much
Great stay as ever at Desire Riviera Maya. Our 5th year staying over the winter holiday. The resort as always was immaculate & the staff superb. Highlights were the fabulous buffet dinner on Dec 24th. Wonderful outdoor food stations with a huge amount of choice. A big positive this year was the music improvements. They seem to have refreshed alot of the live bands and also modernized the music at the lobby bar downstairs. It must be hard to please so many different age groups but the dance floor was always busy so they are doing something right. The DJs work so hard to try and satisfy everyone, Mauro as ever was always amazing, but shout outs also to DJ Vic, Efer & Leo. All the staff here are wonderful, the bartenders are always so happy & fun to interact with, Axel is a real good addition these last 12 months, his Spicy Mezcalitas are the best. Monica waitressing is a lot of fun & also Hiromi. Playmaker team had some new members but they seem a good unit together again, Javi, Bella, Pina, Mauricio, Bam Bam, Meli, Chiara & also Manuel the new captain was entertaining & good to chat with. The nightclub bartenders this trip were amazing, Ever, Luis & Marcos. They looked after my wife so well, Desire is such a safe place experience for us. There’s no where else in the world that you can be so free & yet feel so secure.
