    Newbie-(yellow band) visit

What a beautiful friendly FUN adult trip! The place to go to get to know fun loving active couples. Victor and Horatio by the pool are the best! Respectful polite people and staff! Highly recommend using the Spa. Will be visiting again and again.

Great as usual but needs to improve on a few things

It was our 6th trip to Pearl in 5 years. It was a great trip as usual, but we’ve been noticing a few things the resort must improve on. First, the rooms are old and dated. Closet doors and room door were in desperate need of replacement and repair. My hand nearly went through the front door frame as I tried to force it closed. It was apparent several other previous guests’ hands nearly went through the frame, as well. Closet doors did not close properly, as well as the bathroom doors. This has been the case for the previously three years, and we’ve mentioned this every visit. Second, at all of the restaurants, the tables do not have their own sugar/salt/pepper. You have to ask your server for them each time. Then when someone else asks for them, the server will take yours to give to others. This is irritating and beyond acceptable at a resort like this. The amount of money you pay to be at Pearl should at least entitle you to your own set of condiments. When you ask for hot sauce, the server will bring a bottle of Tabasco which they will take away to give to someone else. Seriously?? One morning I counted two bottles of Tabasco sauce for the entire restaurant. Unacceptable and ridiculous. Do better. Resort is impeccably clean and well maintained, even though it clearly shows its age. The employees are very respectable, well mannered, and accommodating. Our favorite employees were all present during our weeklong stay which made our lives easier and better, as usual. Big shoutout to Vincent and Alexis at the front who greeted us as usual. They are truly awesome. Yolanda and Monica at the poolside service are incredibly talented and made our stay extra special. Horatio and Miguel took care of our poolside chairs and beds every single day, and they will go out of their way to meet your needs. Candice and Kia are staples of the playmakers and work extra hard to provide entertainment.

    Just what we needed...

TL:DR: Go. Great experience. Expectations met / exceeded. You'll (get naked) have a great time. My wife and I were originally intending to go to Desire Pearl in January but an ice storm at the airport had different ideas. So, fast-forward to late May and we were finally able to go. We booked everything through the website, which I believe is actually run through Reservhotel. Despite one or two very minor communication issues everything went very smoothly, including having our initial resort credit applied to our new reservation. Upon arrival in Cancun, we whisked through customs (try the e-gates) and exited the airport to the taxi / transfer area. If you've been to Cancun, you already know. If you haven't just watch a Youtube video to prepare yourself. Overall, not too bad. Found our transfer service, waited 10 minutes, and away we went. As we arrived at Desire Pearl, we were presented with a cool, scented towel and asked what we would like to sip while we checked in. Thumbs up. Check-in was a breeze and everyone was very kind. If you are not a member, you will be asked about attending a "meeting." You will be offered a resort credit such as money off any expenditures or similar. In the end, we decided not to attend although if you enjoy the resort, it may interest you. We tend to mix up our travels quite a bit so returning as often as we would need to justify the membership wasn't feasible. They are very understanding about it though. This resort is adults / couples only. There's a reason for that. Hopefully you've done your research but if you haven't, it can be considered a "lifestyle" resort. Look it up. You will see nudity. You will see consenting adults enjoying each other's company (in certain areas and at certain times). All of them will be polite, respectful, fun to be around and from all walks of life and all shapes and sizes. We aren't in the lifestyle but have been to lifestyle resorts (mainly Hedonsim 2 ) and I can say that you may never meet friendlier people. There is no pressure to be anything other than what you are. So relax and do you. The Resort: Some would call it small. It's perfect. Not too big. Easy to get around and wear heels for dinner (so my wife tells me). Well laid out and the grounds are lovely. The staff works all day to make it so. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach when we were there but it was that time of year. And it's nature. Pool is amazing as was the hot tub area. Super chill. Talk to the pool staff and grab a lounger as early as possible. Also a very acceptable gym for those who don't want to miss a workout. Can't speak to the rest of the spa but it looked amazing. The Room: I don't know how we did it, but our room overlooked the pool at just the right spot. A junior suite (1039). We could watch the sunrise, enjoy the pool shenanigans / ballyhoo from our balcony, etc. The decor is classic and I've heard some people say it was dated but I will disagree. I wish I had a bedroom like it at home. Fantastic. The Food / Drinks: Great. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, midnight tacos... no exceptions. Everything was good. We ate dinner at Pearl and Suki twice and Aphrodite once and never had a bad meal. They will accommodate special diets and we were always asked if we had any food allergies. My only note (and it is specific to me and VERY minor) is that there were no Irish whiskey options. Argh. However, the Johnny Walker Blonde (which I had never seen before) was a viable substitute. Entertainment / Nightlife: The Playmakers do WORK. Even when I was in my 20s I wouldn't have kept up. The evening shows depend on the theme of the day and didn't disappoint. The evenings are hosted in the lobby area currently. This will sound odd until you go and see what they accomplish with a limited area. The disco is also small-ish but everyone can fit and the proximity will "season" the rest of the evening. We didn't go to the playroom so I can't speak to that. The People: Everyone will tell you that the staff makes Desire Pearl. They are not wrong. EVERYONE we met was great. I'll list some names and I feel terrible about leaving anyone out (forgive my spelling): Mildredt and Ediberto at Aphrodite (and the two shorter gentlemen in the morning. They moved so fast I couldn't see their names.) Robert, Orlando and Belen at Pearl. Servando and Horacio at the main Pool. Luis at the Lobby Bar (knew what I wanted like a mind-reader) Jorge at the Jacuzzi Bar Luis and the young fella (with the nautical tattoos) at the Pool Bar Gladys who took care of our room and the Playmakers: Eduardo, Candice, Chandel and Abbey. Also Sheila and Esmerelda! I know I've forgotten a few names and I'm sorry. Long review short. Go. Enjoy the experience. Get naked with your partner. Do things you wouldn't normally do (if you haven't before) or get crazier that normal if you have.

Another great trip to our favorite resort

This was another great experience, as we were celebrating our 10th anniversary of going to Desire Pearl. Not only was the staff as amazing as always, but there are several employees who have been there for years and remembered us. From the moment you check-in with a mimosa in hand to the departing service by the luggage concierge, Pearl never disappoints.

    Superior customer service

Another fantastic week at Desire Pearl. So romantic and fun. The food was great (even enjoyed a beautifully prepared room service dinner one night). There is nothing like Mexican hospitality. Special appreciation for Bruno who made our check in process friendly, fun, and fast (we were in our room before we knew it) and the exceptional Gisella who found a great room for us just to our specifications--above the ground floor, quiet, and with a great view! Already planning another trip.
