The Good and The Bad
My recent stay had its ups and downs. Initially, we were placed in a basement room with a view of a parking lot. The rooftop pool had a nice view but was too warm, and the buffet ran out of food and beer, leaving a poor impression. However, once we moved to a better room with a jungle-like atmosphere, our experience improved significantly. The boutique all-inclusive resort features one buffet, one bar, one à la carte restaurant, and amenities for kids, including a lazy river and water park. The friendly staff enhances the experience, but the resort lacks the variety of larger ones. There’s a spa and simple dining options, and while activities and nightly entertainment were limited, we enjoyed playing bingo and listening to live music in the bar. If you're a beach person, consider other options— the beach is off-site and requires a shuttle, and space is limited. We stayed for four nights after enjoying Sayulita and appreciated the freedom of having our own rental. Overall, the resort grounds were lovely, you can find some private space within, feel less crowded, a different option from a typical all-inclusive- Recommend for who: I families that don't want the large resorts, but still want some charm.

Romantic Vacation for The hippie and his wife
Julia and I had such a lovely time at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Riviera Nayarit. It was the perfect romantic escape. I can’t say enough good things about the staff; they were awesome and took great care of us. I know some people have mentioned the food wasn't great, but honestly, for the price we paid, we were very happy with it. It’s not Four Seasons level dining, but it wasn't priced like it either! The service was the real highlight and made our trip special.

A dfferent kind of resort , long review !
First off , it is quite isolated, although very beautiful and unique and definately spread out . Shuttle only to beach , so walking not recommended. Beware as there are alot of beach vendors ,although not aggressive either . Extremely children friendly as Mexicans are particularily family oriented . Plentiful bars , but not quite top shelf and just an fyi , alot of the liquor brands we are so familiar with are actually made in Mexico .i.e. Johnnie red, Gordons gin , so really they do taste different from home . Food is abundant , so much variety , not gourmet but you will always find something . Japanese restaurant was better than I expected and a lady chef who cooked at two different tables simutaniously . Alot of food too , and a good show that all would enjoy . Various pools, some open late. I found alot of shade , and quiet spots to read a book . Travelling solo here could be challenging as the evenings had limited entertainment only on weekends . T.V had a few English channels along with Netflix . Very clean everywhere ! Water filling stations , and property is environmently friendly . Staff were hardworking and I felt they put an effort to accomodate . I had the back view and initially was disappointed , however I did enjoy watching the butterflies and even humingbirds ! Louis stood out and I would like to wish him well professionally .

The Adelita taco stand is the most delicious food in the resort
Emilio and Mayte provide flavourful and authentic Mexican food within the Delta hotel. We very much appreciated the tacos and their smiles. Muchos Gracias 🙏

Dig deeper into the reviews
I have copied the descriptions of the restaurants from their website, overall expect Golden Corral foor. Let's start with the restaurants. 1- The Food Truck "Quesadillas and different dishes from 13:00 to 17:00 hrs. || Tacos from 19:00 to 22:00 hrs.” Very good food with great staff, we only saw the quesadillas and tacos. 2-The Pantry "When you need a quick snack or a light meal in Riviera Nayarit, visit the Delta Pantry. We stock a wide range of food and drinks to help you satisfy your cravings 24 hours a day.” This seemed to be the first stopping point for guests who arrive in the afternoon. The offerings are Ramen noodles or from the refrigerator. The sandwiches are not labelled, some white tubs of unlabelled jello or ice cream from the dispenser. Fruit was apples only. 3- Huichol Cocina Artesanal "Hotel main restaurant, based on traditional Mexican and international Cuisine. Let all your sensations explode while you enjoy your meal with the fusion of locally grown ingredients.” The implication here is the style of cooking that goes back to roots and traditions. In reality, it’s a buffet, and not a very good one at that. Food was never hot, very basic apart from the salads which were fresh and of fair variety. 4-Sal y Romero Italian Again, a buffet. The Italian slant was the three fresh pasta offerings which were very good. The other Italian dish was pizza slices. Food mostly cold 5- Manolos. Graphics on the door advertise this as a Tapas & Tinto bar, no tapas. The Japanese, sports bar and beach club food were all very good. The Room. We were in a standard Mountain View guest room, Torre Zafiro. When I got a chance to see on the other side of our connecting door, it became obvious that we had been put into a secondary bedroom. The bathroom is very small, with a toilet that was behind the door. I have attached a picture of the area that shows how the door intrudes into the space. The hand mirror was a small plug in setup, not what I expect from a Marriott. The couch was interesting, it seems to have been an afterthought to use up space. However the corner light prevented its use as it occupied the same space your head would. The new tower is no where as well designed as the older ones, cost cuts have been made at the expense of offering value. The grounds are very nice though, but after booking a six night stay we left after 3
