  Needs better air conditioning

  My husband and I spent a week here. Ocean front room 2507. We were disappointed that there was not a ceiling fan in the room and the air conditioning was not able to keep up. The room was always around 77 degrees F. We did ask for a fan and it was brought up promptly and made the room bearable. It saved us for the week! On the Golden side there is no place to go that has air conditioning. The lobby is open air and it would be nice to have at least one place to cool off. We were there at the tail end of Hurricaine Simon and got the waves from Hurricaine Trudy so the Breeze beach bar was closed for about half of our stay. When it was open it was great to relax at a table and watch the water and people. There were many holes in the roofs so any time it rained it leaked, literally gushing in. They set out buckets to catch the water but it didn't help much. They roofs are in desparate need of repair. The service was great and we enjoyed all the food/drinks, especially the room service. We did not eat at any of the specialty restaurants or watch any night activities. We always make the best of our circumstances and this trip was no exception. We had a good time but would not come back unless they get better air conditioning and fix what needs repairs.

  I had an amazing time with my family and daughters. I saw the shows and had a lot of fun with the host Daniela, Jorge, and Alan from the entertainment team. I'd love to come back soon!

  Terrible!

  I was severely disappointed after looking at the pictures and the reviews of this resort. All of the restaurants were open here very limited drink choices, very rundown…beyond disappointed. We checked in in 30 minutes later, checked out and moved to a different resort. Don’t fall for the fake reviews.

  If you want to actually enjoy the resort you are staying in, go somewhere else.

  I spent a week at this all-inclusive resort for a work-related trip. More than a third of our attendees either immediately left to go to another hotel, left later on during the week or switched rooms multiple times due to issues such as broken air conditioning, lack of hot water, strong mildew odor. Since I was there for work and enjoying the resort was less of a priority, I decided to stick it out, despite my shower running at a slow trickle and then not working at all my first night. Big mistake. I complained to the front desk about the shower and they sent maintenance up, who was able to restore a bit of flow through the shower head, but said they needed a different sized pipe to properly fix the issue which would take a day for them to get. They didn't end up returning, but I decided not to make a big deal of it since it was still running enough that I could rinse myself off, but 4 days in the water stopped flowing from the shower head again. All in,I had to squat by the tub faucet and used cupped hands and a washrag to bath myself for 3 of the seven nights I was there and it took 4 visits to the front desk for them to finally fix it my last night there. There was only a small apology for the faulty shower with no gesture such as an offer for a partial refund or complimentary amenity to make up for the inconvenience. Aside from my issues with the shower, the room smelled mildly of mildew, and the refrigerator which (to their credit) was filled with complimentary water and beer, was broken. As for the rest of the property, the gym was insufferably hot, to the point where I and other members would step out between sets just get a breath of fresh air, and the equipment was old with a universal machine that was only partially functional. From what I heard from a colleague, the clay tennis courts were poorly maintained, and you could easily trip over the court lines since they were firm and protruded higher than the clay in areas. As far as the food, the buffet was mediocre, at best, and offered extremely little variety day to day. I would say that if you're into staying at a resort where you are rolling the dice on whether you are going to get properly working air conditioning, plumbing or hot water, like the smell of mildew and having water stains on your walls, you don't particularly enjoy eating, and you don't care about the quality of any amenities, then this is the place for you. If you actually want to enjoy your resort, then go elsewhere

  Used to be great. Not anymore

  We've been here several times over the last 15 years. It used to be a great resort even though it's older.. The service and food always made it great. But now the service and the food have gone from great to not good. Very disappointing. We won't be back
