Never Again.
The most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed at. Run down, no hot water, dirty, curtains falling off the rails and falling apart and overall just nasty. I’ve seen jails maintained better than this. First room we were given looked like no one had been there in years. The second room felt ok because the first one was a joke. But we had to move because there was no hot water. The third also didn’t have hot water to witch they responded “we’ve already reported it”. I gave up. But nice staff and we had very good WiFi.

Disappointing Condition, Safety Issues, and Overcrowding – Fell Well Below Expectations
We stayed at Crown Paradise Golden from January 22 to February 5, and unfortunately the experience did not meet the expectations set by the resort’s online photos or by the price paid. There were some positives. The staff were friendly and hardworking, and the beach itself was very nice. The French and Italian restaurants were actually very good and stood out as highlights of the stay. However, these positives were outweighed by consistent issues throughout our visit. The biggest concern was the overall condition of the resort, which shows clear signs of deferred maintenance. Our room and common areas had visible mold (including in the shower area and on curtains), worn fixtures, and general upkeep issues that should not exist at a resort marketed at this level. There were also significant safety concerns. Several pool tiles were missing or damaged, and my wife cut her toe as a result. At the rooftop pool, a light repeatedly popped out and was left dangling from its wires underwater, which was extremely concerning. In addition, the spill-through area at the rooftop pool had a strong odor and visible black discoloration consistent with mold, making it both unpleasant and unhygienic. While speaking with the on-site manager about these issues, another guest approached us and showed us video footage of her husband being shocked when he turned on the overhead fan in their room. That interaction, combined with what we experienced ourselves, raised serious concerns about electrical safety. In our own room, multiple power outlets did not work, and one of the bedside lamps was non-functional — hardly what one would expect from a 4-star resort. On our second-to-last night, the bathroom ceiling began leaking, forcing us to pack up and move rooms at midnight. The replacement room had its own issues — the TV remote did not work — and at that point we simply gave up and watched our iPad instead. Being forced to change rooms in the middle of the night due to a maintenance failure is unacceptable for a resort of this advertised standard. What was particularly telling is that every guest we spoke with expressed disappointment. Several told us they had been forced to move rooms multiple times — in some cases up to four times — due to non-functioning air conditioning, mold, and plumbing issues. This reinforced that our experience was not isolated, but part of a broader pattern. The pool area was extremely overcrowded, with far too few chairs for the number of guests. It was very difficult to access advertised amenities unless you were up very early. This was made worse by the fact that the resort allows cruise ship passengers to purchase day passes, something we were not aware of when booking. This significantly increased congestion and reduced the overall guest experience. Food quality was another disappointment. Buffet food was frequently not served hot, and overall variety was limited. Breakfast was particularly frustrating — the resort would only put out one tray of bacon per day, meaning that if you weren’t in line by around 8:00 a.m., there was no bacon available at all. This level of food service is hardly what one would expect from a 4-star all-inclusive resort. These were not isolated or minor inconveniences, but rather a consistent pattern of problems that detracted from what should have been a relaxing vacation. Based on our experience, the resort does not match how it is currently represented online. While we appreciated the staff, the beach, and the French and Italian restaurants, we would not recommend this resort or return unless significant improvements are made. We feel we paid far too much for what was marketed as a 4-star resort but, in reality, was closer to a 2.5–3 star experience at best.

Nice Resort
We stayed as a couple at this resort in January of 2026, along with my parents. Pros-food is great at all the restaurants except the buffet. The breakfast buffet was great but the lunch and dinner not so much. Breakfast is at the buffet, they have fruit, eggs, sausage, French toast, cereals and lots more, you can ask for bacon at the omelette station. For lunch we enjoyed the burgers and dogs at the snack bar by the pool. Ask for nacho chips and cheese, one of my favourites. They also had guacamole most days but you need to ask for that too. We asked for our burgers to be well done as one day they were a bit undercooked for our liking. For dinner we tried a few à la cartes, all were great! The bars are great too they have lots of options. We enjoyed modelo, corona, Bahama mamas, dirty monkeys, espresso martinis and Caesar’s. Wine is readily available too. The beach bar is open late so often times we would grab a drink after dinner. Our ocean view room was awesome! Bed was comfortable, clean room, great view. They refill the mini bar with beer, water and pop daily. You can ask for a coffee maker. We found the coffee weak so we didn’t put the full amount of water in the maker to give the coffee more flavour. The staff were wonderful, mark sure to tip well they work hard. The beach is gorgeous, you can walk for quite awhile. The ocean was warm and we enjoyed a few swims. We didn’t go in the pool so can’t comment on that. If you walk to the left of the resort there is an awesome taco stand, very cheap and delicious tacos! There is a guy who draws portraits he is great and reasonable. He may draw you without you knowing then show you, you can decide to buy it or not. We asked him to draw my husband and myself and were very happy. There is a guy who sells fresh oysters off the beach, he catches them daily, my parents really enjoyed these. There is a guy who sells mangos on the beach, the way he prepares it is absolutely delicious!! Cons- there is no shade on the beach, you can rent an umbrella but it is much cheaper to go to the store around the corner and buy one. We sold ours to another family when we were leaving. Many cruise ships come in so the beach is often very busy. Lots of beach vendors, they approach and ask if we want to buy anything we counted 22 times one day. They don’t push but 22 is quite a lot! We did buy a couple things from them that were quite nice. The reservation system is really not good. You can only book for 1 day at a time at 9 or shortly after. You can only book for the people in your room. In order for us to have dinner with my parents we had to meet each morning at 9 and try to book for the for the same time. The wifi password changes daily and many times it wouldn’t work. I would have to reset the password(new daily one posted at reception) often this would happen while trying to book a restaurant so very frustrating. Overall we had a great time and really enjoyed vacationing with my parents.

Good resort.
All the staff on the resort were very nice. The buffet was quick to be seated never had to wait. The food was usually the same, sometimes left over options from the other restaurants. Main pool was heated which was nice, never full. Chairs were usually all reserved by 7 am. The roof top pool was very cold and usually crowded with people just taking pool pictures or pictures of the view. The rooms were a bit dated but I did see they were updating the furniture in rooms daily. The housekeeping of the rooms were subpar, they usually did a quick clean. Bar service was great they were fast and always serviced the pool area
