- Other Local AttractionsCozumel is rich in history and natural wonders. Popular destinations include ancient Mayan temples on the north side of the Island; the sanctuary to Ix- Chel -the fertility goddess- in San Gervasio and the Museum of the Island of Cozumel, with its colorful displays of underwater reefs and other Island treasures. At El Cedral, on the south side of the Island, the oldest Maya structure on Cozumel built in A.D. 800 can be found. Nearby a towering lighthouse at Punta Sur offers a 360-degree view of the Island.
Cozumel is habitat to many nature reserves: the Cozumel Marine Reef National Park, Chankanaab Park and Lagoon, and Punta Sur. Botanical gardens at Chankanaab Park display 350 different types of tropical plants from more than 20 countries. Another attraction is the dolphin aquarium, treating visitors to a close-encounter with playful dolphins. Punta Sur is a new eco-tourist park for visitors interested in learning about the Island's native flora and fauna. Encircling a region known as Colombia Lagoon, Punta Sur is a unique setting of mangrove jungles, white sandy beaches and reef formations. The Park's information center allows visitors to watch a 20-minute video and learn about different eco-systems, environment and native birds, turtles, alligators, fish and coral in the Park. At the information center, visitors can rent electric bikes to explore Punta Sur on their own.

Dec 29, 2025A nice retreat by the sea
A nice retreat by the sea. They have a champagne reception you can help yourself upon arrival. The pool is large with some areas only a few inches deep to lounge in. Pool deck chairs aren’t difficult to come by and there is a bar next to the pool where Gustavo and Rellez make good drinks and are fun to interact with. They also have many different activities for adults and kids. Suny, Juanita, Jose and Yesi do a great job interacting with guests and leading the activities. We missed an activity and Suny was kind enough to take the craft items back out for us. Across the street (accessible by an underground tunnel) is a restaurant that has breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has a great view of the water and is right by their beach, which has a lot of seating and a bar. You can snorkel in the sea in either their enclosure or swim over the underwater wall out in to the clear water sea. There are many different types of fish that will swim by you as well as star fish and other sea life. The water is very clear with visibility of 30’+. There are a couple of restaurants. The one across the street has most of the meals and sometimes the on site restaurant has dine-in (make reservations). There is also a snack bar in the pool area that you can also order alcohol. Gabriela, Manuel, Jesus and Alid are friendly and patient taking orders by the pool. There is a bar in the lobby area that is open until midnight. Daniel makes really good drinks and is really friendly. Cool vibe to end the day! You can book off site excursions in the lobby with Miguel who is very helpful.

Amazing fun pool staff!
The fun pool staff were the highlight of our stay at Cozumel Hotel & Resort! Jose’s water aerobics at noon every day brought the best energy and made the pool time extra fun! Yesi was also great and so fun with the pool games she led!

Low key, simple vacation mode with beautiful pool and ocean view
We stayed at Cozumel Hotel for a few days right before Christmas. Our stay was pleasant and low key. Hotel is a bit out dated but we enjoyed the amenities it had to offer, beach view was fantastic. Buffet had a lot to offer, same goes to service. Miguel Bads was our waiter during our meals and he provided us with exceptional service! Just wanted to leave his name here along with our review.

Everything at the Christmas gala dinner was cold... from the soup to the main course. On your checkout day at noon, you may stay on resort to use the facilities but everything you consume is at an additional cost, so bear this in mind if you have a later flight. Room was great. Regular food and drinks were good. Service staff were exceptional!

Such a good experience in every way
Everything was clean food was good and staff was super amazing and nice and it was a lot of fun in every aspect 10/10 will be coming here again
