Smelly and had to leave early
This place is very run down. We booked 7 nights but checked out after one. The pool is off a parking lot. It’s tiny and gross. The rooms are the worst part. They haven’t been touched in many years. Smells of smoke and feels dirty. The bathroom had so much mold and rust I could not shower at this place. The rooms are the worst I have ever seen. I understand courtyards are not nice properties but they are typically clean, not here. I have had to stay are courtyards for kids sports travel, even off a highway, this is so much worse. Connected to a mall and tons of event space. If you plan on just sleeping here for a few hours you can do it. But this isn’t a resort. The staff are not customer service driven and because it’s not a nice hotel they don’t seem to care much. Just know what you get here. And if your titanium don’t expect a thing other than nuts

Not the view we booked!!!
Checked in 10/16 booked an ocean front for the night. Checked in and got room #201, a view of the roof top and a big tree with some ocean view on both sides of the tree. My sister went back to the front desk and talked to front desk agent Tisha, asked if we could get a better room as we booked ocean front, and was told that they were sold out and she offered my sister free breakfast for our whole family which my sister agreed to because she felt bad “complaining”. About 2:30am I woke up to use the bathroom and see a big cockroach on the bar of soap on the bathroom sink which I video taped and was debating going to the front desk but we were also traveling with two kids and I did not want to have to wake them up for any reason as we were leaving at 7am to fly back home. The next morning I made my way down to the front desk at 6:40am. When I get to the front desk I ask the front desk agent working “Tisha” if I can speak to a manager which happened to be standing in back of her. I then step to the side counter of Tisha and begin to explain that we checked in yesterday and that we booked a “oceanfront” room and that’s not what we feel we got and my sister came down yesterday and was told it was sold out and as I’m taking to the assistant front office manager Tristen, Tisha interrupted the conversation and says “ya I talked to your sister yesterday and told her we were sold out and offered her breakfast and she was ok with that” . She was very unprofessional as I was talking to the manager and not her and cut me off mid conversation. I then go on to explain that I also work at the front desk and I know how misleading “view” descriptions can be online. Tisha goes on to say that “here at our property our ocean view you have to kinda peek your head out and if you see ocean that ocean view” Tristen the manager says yes unfortunately we were at a sold out and that is the room we have available and apologizes. I tell Tristen that we won’t be taking breakfast on property and also show her the video of the big roach that was in the bathroom when I got up and she tells me that sometimes roaches get in when you leave the lanai door open, (which we never did.) Tristen then apologizes for the view and roach and offers to waive resort fee and $50 credit to our bill and says that’s the extent of what she can do. I thank her and leave. At check out I turn in keys to Tisha and get my paper bill and leave. I see on the top of bill room type says OCVW (ocean view). Which now I’m upset because OVEANVIEW AND OCEANFRONT are two completely different prices that they offer. And no one ever acknowledge that we were in a “ocean view” room. The whole time they made us feel like this was there “oceanfront” . There was no acknowledgment that we were in a “ocean view” and not what we booked and paid for which was ocean front. The service we received here was just so disheartening. So needless to say we will not be staying here at this property in the future. If this is how they treat there “bonvoy members” or just even people in general, we will now be taking our future visits elsewhere. If you don’t care about friendly service then this is your spot!!! Terrible customer service .

Nice hotel! Would stay again!
This is a nice hotel. I enjoyed our stay here. My only complaint is our room faced the street and it can be kind of noisy. A car alarm went off across the street late at night and was going off for quite a while. But there are pretty views from the hotel and it’s convenient to nearby restaurants and shopping. I enjoyed snorkeling in the cove area by the hotel. Only place we could snorkel in Hawaii this trip. Everywhere else we stayed the ocean water was too rough to get in it. So that cove area by the hotel is a nice calm place to swim and snorkel which is nice. They also have snorkel and other rentals right there if needed. I’m only giving it a 4 because the pool is just ok. Not that big. Tiny hot tub too and could never get in it because too crowded. I prefer a bigger pool and hot tub. But it was ok. But we enjoyed our stay and had a nice clean room.

Making memories in a magical place. Best hospitality!
First of all I want to say the staff is amazing! Especially the ladies at the front desk. (Tisha) I wish, I wrote down the other ladies we were there August 26th-Sept6th. We bounced around the island but everytime we came back to stay at King Kamehameha’s. They were always on top of everything, accommodating, smiling, kind, sweet and hard working! Literally the same ladies working around the clock and still smiling. The rooms were clean, the views were perfect facing the ocean or the mountains. The resort had one of the best snorkeling right in front. We were lucky to be there during the Queen Canoe Races. I would recommend getting coffee and donuts at Kings Coffee Company, located in the same building… also the best shaved ice is two doors down! We also did the Mantaray swim at night with Kona Style ( also located in the same building.) Bart was one of the crew members made the experience one to never forget with all his knowledge and love for the Manta rays. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel!

Great location
This hotel is in the best location because you can walk everywhere. There’s a beautiful beach right in front of the hotel. Chairs and umbrella are about $50 per day. The pool area is really nice and has an outdoor bar adjacent to it. Temp of water is perfect. Our servers at the pool were really provided great service. You will need your room bracelet and towel card to access pool area. The towel attendant was very matter of fact. I wondered why he never smiles or says hello. The bartenders are great. It was unfortunate one day I had to wait almost 20 minutes for a drink, to the point where a guy sitting next to me had to get the bartenders attention to help me. Looked like she was busy and by herself. It would have been nice to know that it was happy hour while I was ordering. Front desk staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Housekeeping was great, always a smile! We were only there for 3 nights, so never got the room serviced but they were always willing to get whatever we needed. The Bellmen were incredibly helpful, professional and kind. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed the upgrade to an ocean view. A special shout out to McKenna, our server at the pool and James, the Bellman. Hotel staff can make your stay so much more enjoyable and we thank you all!
