My husband and I stayed at CTI from December 1st to December 11th. This was our second time staying at a Couples resort. ( Our 1st was to Couples Swept Away in Negril (November 2018)). Arrival- We flew American Airlines with a straight flight from Philadelphia to Montego Bay (roughly 3 hours & 20 minutes). Once passed customs, we were directed to the Couples lounge where we would wait for our transportation to our resort. We were served Red Stripe or Red Stripe Light while we waited. We were in the lounge for approximately 15 minutes when we were told our transportation had arrived. This part of the trip is a bit rough (2 hours give or take to the resort). You do stop half way to use the bathroom & grab a few beers/water if you'd like. Couples does have it's own transportation, so you are only with people from CTI & Couples San Souci (which is a 5 minute trip from CTI) When we arrived, we were immediately greeted with a cold towel & asked if we wanted a glass of champagne or a rum punch. Check in was smooth & we were shown to our room. Room- We stayed on the first floor, but still overlooked the ocean & main pool, as the 1st floor is actually like 2nd floor height. I can't remember our room number (possibly 1001, but not 100% sure). The mini bar is stocked daily (make sure you fill out a form each day & hang it on your door before 1am). We requested (4) Red Stripe Light per day & it was always fulfilled. Grounds- always well maintained. Beach- A bit smaller but still beautiful. Plenty of chairs & shade. I can't speak for the beverage service on the beach, but there were always servers walking around with drinks. Island- We were hesitant at first, but we had agreed we would try it out on our first full day there. Should we like it, we could spend the rest of our vacation lounging over there, if not we would make our way to the beach on the actual resort. There is a boat that goes over to the island all day long. From 8:30-9am, guests can travel to the island to explore the tower, views, etc, and take pictures. At 9am, if you do not plan to go au natural- you must leave. All guests staying on the island after 9am, must go au natural. Part of the island facing the resort is covered by trees, giving guests on the island a bit more privacy. My husband and I went to the island, every day for the rest of our trip. The guests that choose to use this island, I felt are non judgmental & don't care what anyone looks like- which is quite refreshing & really allows you to relax. The island has it's own pool & swim up bar. The bartender on the island is Conrad & he is by far one of the best employees & bartenders! We brought 20oz thermoses, which were great to keep our beers cold, or whatever drink we chose that day! When it comes time for lunch, you don't even need to leave the island- lunch is brought to you. (variety of food changes daily usually)- They always have Jamaican patties (which are my fav). The entertainment team comes over every day to play games or teach you something newThere isn't much of a beach on the island, but you can definitely get in the ocean (either from where the boat docks, or a set of steps a bit further down the island). Make sure you bring water shoes to wear in the water! Food- As I said in my review of CSA, the food is by far one of the best we've ever had at an all inclusive resort. Still a toss up, as to which resort had the better food. There are a few different options for breakfast, we usually went to the buffet (opting for omlettes (made to order). However, we did use room service twice (utalizing both options) Here there are two options, (1) use the order form & hang it on your door before 1am the night before (continental breakfast) - (2) order from the room service booklet by calling in your order (we ordered the night before), this menu has a lot more options; we were able to get omlettes delivered. I noticed at the buffets that they offered many gluten free breads, desserts & options in general. I am not GF, but I thought it was great to see. There is a veggie bar located right near the beach, healthy options & smoothies available. Thought this was a great touch! Depending on what you'd like for dinner, you may need to make a reservation. Reservations are needed at 8 Rivers (more fine dining- think steaks/lobster/etc.) & Bayside (Asian). Veranduh (carribean inspired) you do not need reservations, but they may ask you to wait (which happened to us; but NBD- we went over to the piano bar (located across the way), listened to music &grabbed a few drinks while we waited. We were able to eat at the reservation restaurants a few times during our stay. There is also a snack bar by the main pool (open during the day & again late night). We usually grabbed something on our way back to the room after hanging at the bar at night. Drinks- Red Stripe & Red Stripe Light. They also do a martini night located on the roof top (my favorite martini- Flirtini (vodka, pineapple juice & topped with champagne). Banana Daiquiris are great! Resort has an array of liquors from call to top shelf. Service- Excellent. Workers are always saying hello & making sure you are enjoying your vacation. Shoutout to: CONWAY (bartender on the island), KENRICK (bartender on the island during conway's break or day off- as well as bartender at the bar outside of the buffet), DENILLE&ANNA (entertainment team), GARFIELD (server at 8 Rivers). Excursions- Although it is difficult to pull yourself off the beach, we did go to Dunn's River Falls (included in your stay at Couples). Dunn's River Falls is about 15-20 minutes from the resort. We also did the exchange privleges with Couples San Souci. CSS is pretty streched out & you definitely get your steps in while staying there. They also have their own private Au Natural Beach & Pool. Spa- My husband & I got a couples massage. Well worth the money I thought. Departure- I suggest using Club MoBay, as you are usually at the airport 2-3 hours before leaving. Included with Club MoBay ($30pp) is food, drinks & a lounge area. You can sign up for it at concierges with CTI. We would 100% return to this resort & we have considered splitting our next vacation between CTI & CSS. One Love.
Ready to go back!
Couples Tower Isle was a true getaway for my husband and I. The customer service and food was out of this world! They have awesome include activities/ events you can attend or you can just enjoy the private beach. We will definitely be returning!
Loved this resort!
We definitely plan on coming back next year! We went there for our honeymoon and we were able to meet new couples easily. The entertainment at night was super fun and involved too. We also really enjoyed the food at all places!
Wonderful holiday, staff very friendly and helpful, couldn't find fault with anything. The beach was very private which was very good as you didn't get pestered by people trying to sell their goods, neve struggled to get sunbeds either. Would not hesitate to re-book for next year.
Lovely location and amazing staff
The hotel and location was fine and the food, cleanliness and activities were all we expected. This is the third time we have been to a Couples resort and the second to Tower Island - last visited in 2013. Our main reason for the rating was the attitude of staff in these uncertain times. From gardeners, cleaners, bar staff, restaurant staff, reception guest services and management everyone we met was attentive, friendly and always willing to help - we didn't meet any member of staff who was less than helpful. Even on the day we left - 18th March - as the hotel was obviously in the throes of closure due to the loss of guests staff remained helpful and made our stay a pleasure until we left. Thank you. A great experience at a very sad time - a great advert for Couples an Jamaica.
