A wonderful tropical getaway
Amazing location on 7 Mile Beach - perfect white sand, you can walk almost forever, safe and secure. The water is pristine, calm in the morning, but more active in the afternoon. Lots of water sports - you can scuba, snorkel, swim, skyglide, all to your heart's content. Friendly atmosphere, feels like family - it's a privilege to be a guest in Jamaica (coming from Canada, we really appreciate the tropical warmth!). Very helpful and accomodating staff, especially if you keep in mind that you are an honoured guest in their beautiful country. Rooms (we had a ground floor Atrium room, 1118, but have also stayed in its sister room, 1119) were spacious, clean, had a relaxed tropical vibe, white with dark wood for contrast. Loved the verandah - a nice hammock to swing in, relaxing couch and lots of cushions. Beautiful private view with lush tropical vegetation. These rooms are close to The Palms, the central restaurant facility, and to the main Lobby. They are halfway in, so you don't hear the bands at night (unless you want to listen in outside, on the verandah!), or the traffic along the main highway at the other end. The gardens are very well maintained - despite Hurricane Melissa, the replanting is well under way, and the orchids hugging the trunks of the palms were starting to bloom when we were there. What a lovely touch - I hope you plant even more of them in the vista along to the ocean ! When we were there (for a fortnight Jan/Feb) we enjoyed blooming hibiscus, ginger, and lots of other Jamaican flora. The grounds staff were very friendly, answered my questions, and obviously took pride in their craftsmanship. To be frank, we are not foodies. But we found the food plentiful, well prepared, with a wide variety available at several locations. We went several times to the French restaurant "Feathers", and the Oriental restaurant "The Lemongrass" for delicious evening meals - advance reservations absolutely required. For casual eating, the "Sea Grapes" had delicious smoothies, local food, lots of vegetables and fruit, and vegetarian options. There's a wide variety of sports options, both on the water and at the sports complex across the highway (don't worry, there's a crossing guard, for those of you who want to relive the primary school days :) Accessibility note: there are a few rooms with a wheelchair accessible ramp, and plenty of others with just a few steps up, which is great. The one suggestion I would make to management is that the washrooms in the main lobby are not accessible - the door is extremely heavy, and there are no grab bars in any of the bathrooms; ditto for the ground floor bathrooms in the Palms. Since these are two heavily used facilities, it would make sense to add accessibility features for your guests. But your staff are very accommodating and understanding, which partly makes up for it. We were thankful to be in Jamaica during the time of the Polar Vortex, which encased Canada and the US in its icy grasp, and even though local temperatures as a results were a bit lower than usual (low to mid 20's) at the resort, we were grateful that we had a beautiful tropical holiday.

Entertainment team saved our vacation
Our 10 day vacation landed in your surprise winter storm. Everything was closed. This was our 3rd trip here and all we like to do is water sports and lay on the beach. Obviously none of those were an option. The entertainment team saved the day. I can’t say enough good things about Shania, Marky, Delon and Renaldo. They went above and beyond and made our trip so enjoyable. CSA is lucky to have such a great entertainment team.

Impressive Recovery and Exceptional Stay at Swept Away
I was a little worried about our trip to Jamaica this year after Hurricane Melissa, but those concerns disappeared the moment we got through the airport. This was our eighth visit to Swept Away, and it turned out to be one of the best yet. There is some visible impact from the hurricane, but the island—especially the Negril area—has done an incredible job recovering. At Swept Away, a few trees are gone and some supplies are limited, but nothing that affected our stay in any meaningful way. Our room had been remodeled and felt fresh and welcoming. The service was the best we've experienced since our very first visit, and the food was as wonderful as always. It’s truly impressive how far both the island and the resort have come in such a short time after the storm. A big shout‑out to the staff this year—they were absolutely amazing.

Average
First time at Couples. Overall, It gets a 3. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The unit was clean and comfortable. The green jungle atmosphere was very nice. We had nice massages at the spa. Unfortunately, the food was below average with many “out of stock” items. The resort is very out-dated and many things were broken; 3 out of 4 jacuzzis were out of order. The mens steam room was also not working. It was hard to relax at the beach with constant interruptions of locals trying to sell drugs, jewelry, etc. the drinks were too sweet, watered down, and use of cheap liquor. Couples Resorts really needs to invest in this resort to get it up to par, especially with what they are charging. We won’t be back.

Amazing stay!
This was a relaxing getaway with plenty of activities available. Beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable rooms, great food. We met several people who had been there many times. The massage spa was amazing. Enjoyed the sports complex. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
