Something's changed, and not for the better

We are currently here for our second time to Couples Negril, and unfortunately something has changed and not for the better. We loved our stay in April of 2023 so we wanted to return because we had such a blast then. What's different? A lot of things, but most of all the service. I have yet to see a single smile from any employee, except the bellboy. All the servers, bartenders, etc are just grumpy. I'm a smiley and friendly person and even when I smile and try to engage in any conversation they don't even try. There is pretty much zero beach service, we have to chase someone down (was able to find one person once) or go to the grumpy beach bartenders. The lady bartenders are at least polite, the males are annoyed by you asking for a drink (I'm sorry, I thought that's why we are paying premium dollar, so sorry to "put you out and ask you to do your job"). Snorkeling is only once a day now, so that's false advertising, and because it's only once a day it fills up and we can't even join. We still have a few more days here, but not feeling like booking at couples again for our winter vacation, based on current state we are experiencing now.

    Heaven & Hell

I am currently staying at this hotel, and the grounds, beach, and facilties seem adequate for the style of resort. However, the food is, in my opinion, the worst I have tasted at any hotel around the world. The food and sauces in the themed restaurants while looking good are always bland and underwhelming. Some meals taste as if the ingredients are from a tin. The Jamaican meals are classic recipes but unfortunately incomplete and tasteless. As in most hotels and resorts, the staff is the crowning glory of the property, but not even the excellent staff can make up for the poor quality, unimaginative, tasteless daily food experience unknowing guests are subjected to. If you consider good food important to your vacation experience, in my opinion, this property will not deliver a positive experience

Thanks to Nadine and Bellard for helping us stay healthy! Also sorry I couldn't remember your name but the lady who works at coffee shop during weekdays, you made our day very pleasant! See you next time!

Couples Resort -Negil is an amazing resort!!!

My time at Couples Negil was amazing!! I would rate this above 5 stars if I could. We visited in April 2023, but Expedia wouldn’t allow for a date later than July. The items below are the things that were important to me and listed below: 1. Geography and hotel aesthetics: The hotel and sister hotels setting was beautiful. You can’t change the esthetics and geography however the hotel was well kept. The hotel allowed for you to travel between hotels to get the experience. This was really helpful and add to why I would come back. There are other hotels nearby but I never felt the need to explore nearby hotels. 2. Amenities: The amenities included almost everything except excursions. The hotel included everything to keep couples entertained. These include not motorized activities. The daily activities were well planned and I appreciated the time the hotel included to show and walk the grounds with guests. The entertainment was wonderful especially the live music and reggae music. I LOVED it! I recorded it and I listen to it today and it just brings a smile to my face! 3. Staff: Management and staff were amazing. They made me and by significant other feel so comfortable. Staff gave us advice on excursions, was attentive to our needs and truly courteous. I loved the special touches the hotel gave us that was nice such as the water bottles, the infused water as every bar. The welcome drink and refreshment towels upon arrival. 4. The fund established by the hotel: I have visited other hotels that claim to be 5 stars, but the facts this hotel established a fund in which we could contribute back to the local community was big for me! So please consider donating to the fund if you have not. Additionally I don’t want to sound preachy in my comments, is you are one who doesn’t tip staff please consider doing so even at the end because you don’t know the lifestyles of others. 5. Food: the food was wonderful. I love when the hotels cook cultural dishes of the country and they didn’t disappoint. I never felt hungry after leaving a meal. Or going back to the room to order a hamburger because we ordered something less than expected. 6. Safety: When leaving the resort we had to check out and check in upon returning with security, although I traveled with my partner I felt as though are where abouts would be considered if we didn’t return. 7. Cleanliness. The hotel and rooms were always cleaned. The hotel rooms weren’t as updated as others but they were cleaned, it wasn’t a disadvantage but for some people who base their opinions on styles. It gave me an island themed style similar to cottage style hotels or rooms. We stayed 7 days and 6 nights. We will definitely return!!

    Perfect everything.

What a lovely, well run resort. We can’t wait to go back. Everything was perfect. Friendly, helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. Beach is gorgeous. Plenty of shade. Sunbeds are comfy and plentiful. Everyone gets a float for the pool or beach. Food was delicious. We were sad to leave.
