Eh, one or two stars. That’s it.

Look at the reviews that are poor and don’t think your experience would be anything better than those. We went there as a part of a package we bought with another company. They give you wrist bands to wear that are color coded and from the minute you put those on, you are dealt with accordingly based your color of band. We had silver so they knew to target us as potential membership purchasers. They trick you at the buffet to ‘learning’ more about your amenities and you think you are going to have perks, then you find yourself in a timeshare-type talk (we were told we would not have to listen to any presentation prior), but it was not a timeshare, but a ‘membership’. Pushy, high pressure is what you endure for hours. You would think they would put you up in a nice place to lure you into the luxury life, but it’s a crappy place that is so outdated. The only good part about the place is the VIP beach, but you feel like you have to tip every single person you encounter. The staff was friendly, but food was very basic at the buffets. To do the specialty dinners, you have to book them one day at a time and I swear, if they still see you with a silver band after presentations, you get lied to and they no longer are catered to nearly as much. We were lied to about numerous things, our shuttle to the airport was messed up till we threw a mini-fit. The water may be hot, it may run out and you can’t drink it. Heck, they even say you cannot flush toilet paper. Spa people constantly nag you to visit them. They call hot dogs ‘sausages’ and there is security everywhere which is good, but also a little unnerving. One lady we befriended had lost her earbuds when we were leaving and they kept pinging at customer service, but nobody would admit they had them as someone kept turning them off as she pinged them. Shady people, don’t trust them at customer service. We did the monkey excursion and the city and mountain tour which were both good and interesting. Would not recommend going here at all.

⭐️ 0/5 — WORST Experience Ever. This Place Needs to Be Shut Down.

If I could give this resort zero stars, I would. Do NOT book here. This place should be shut down immediately. I honestly felt like I stayed at a trap house, not a resort. We had to switch rooms four times because every single one had serious issues. Room 1: The key didn’t work. When we finally got inside, the room was disgusting — dirty lamps, filthy halls, a clogged sink, peeling tub, and sheets so itchy we had to sleep in full sweat suits. When we complained to Guest Services, there was a long line of people also trying to switch rooms. It was like musical chairs — every new room was worse than the last. We came for a wedding, and almost 90% of the guests had to change rooms too. Everything on this property is spread out, and you have to wait forever for shuttles just to get around. Most of our spending went toward tipping drivers and staff because that’s the only way to move anywhere. My friend stayed in another room with her children and the ceiling collapsed in the middle of the night After the wedding, we finally got a “better” room — but guess what? No AC, the TV kept glitching, and there’s no cell service unless you pay extra for Wi-Fi. When we asked for clean towels, we called four times — no one ever came. The door didn’t lock properly and would literally open on its own. My boyfriend had to lift the door to get it to catch on the hinge. Then one night, two random workers walked into our room unannounced, pretending to “look for something.” It was beyond inappropriate and unsafe. The next morning, another worker walked in again thinking the room was empty. At one point, a cleaning lady came by and said, “How are you guys staying here? It’s so hot.” She actually helped us find another room — and bless her, she even cleaned it herself so we could move in. That 4th room looked better and had AC, but it turned out to be a deep freezer. We turned off the air to warm up and woke up drenched in moisture from how cold it was. To make things worse, I saw roaches in the buffet at both Casa Blanca and El Pilón. That completely killed my appetite. The food was just bad The few nice staff members we met tried their best, but most of the workers looked tired, uninterested, or simply didn’t bother showing up. It was like nobody cared. Now I’m back in the States, and I still feel sick and freezing from that last room. I’ve been taking hot showers and can’t shake the chill. That’s how bad it was. This resort is unsafe, unsanitary, and completely mismanaged. No one should ever waste their time or money here. They need to go out of business.

Beach Vacation Resort in Cozy Maimón

The Cofresí Beach Resort is a spacious, coastal retreat place. Each bedroom has a Cable-ready TV, double bed, and refrigerator in the closet. It is closest to Puerto Plata.

    Excellent

I had problems with my room, no ac no hot water, bad tv reception. I went to guest services to get a new room. Anel worked with me to take care of my issues. She was extremely helpful and took take of my issues.. A new room with AC n hot water, complimentary fruit n cheese tray and helped me get my dinner reservations. I am well pleased with her assistance. David Sedillo
