    Family vacation from HELL

This is for future clients and CEO Markus Wischenbart of Lifestyle Holidays Resort and Hotels! We booked a family vacation for one week at this resort. Upon receiving our key cards, We were assigned rooms 20621 and 20732, we immediately noticed that it was evident that the accommodations they provided did not match the rooms represented on Expedia’s website! Both rooms were in deplorable conditions, unsanitary and outdated. Issues included no hot water, broken fixtures, rusted door hinges, dirty bed sheets, towels were discolored and appeared excessively reused, pubic hair in the bathtub and on the floor, dirty stain pictures above the bed, old outdated furniture. Bugs underneath the bedsheets that were supposed to be clean. Bathroom window covered with rolls of paper tissue as seen in the photos included! We informed Guest Services immediately Manager Anelah and front desk staff acknowledged these conditions, and I have recorded conversations confirming this. We were told we were placed in the most outdated and deteriorated building. Replacement rooms offered were in the same poor condition. After repeated attempts with management and Expedia, we had no choice but to leave and pay for alternate lodging. Photos and a written complaint were submitted at checkout. it’s unfortunate that we were not compensated the $3,600 we paid for the resort accommodations! This experience falls far below expectations for a resort under CEO Markus Wischenbart. Families should proceed with caution

    A gastrointestinal nightmare.

We ended up at Confresi Palm because of a weather delay and were placed here by WestJet Vacations. I understand disruptions happen — this review isn’t about the weather. It’s about what happened once we arrived… and how quickly it became a case study in “how can this possibly get worse?” First, navigating the property is a full-body workout. If you have seniors, kids, mobility issues, or luggage, prepare for a lot of stairs, hills, and “wait… are we going the right way?” There was no guidance offered on how to find our rooms and no help with bags (we had two seniors), which set the tone. Then we tried to eat. Finding food felt like a scavenger hunt, and the posted restaurant times didn’t match reality. We arrived for a 6:00 seating and were seated at 6:30 — not the end of the world, unless you’ve already spent a long time trying to locate food on the property and you’re travelling with a child and seniors. Now the real highlight: the A/C in one room was broken. We asked multiple times for someone to come look at it (four requests). By 11:00 AM checkout, no one ever came. The room became so hot that we had to shuffle people around just to survive the night — at one point squeezing four adults into a room meant for two. Not exactly the resort fantasy. And then… gastro. Multiple people in our group became violently ill overnight. I’m not making a medical claim — I’m just documenting what happened while we were there after eating on-site. Picture three adults and a child with stomach issues coming from both directions at once. If you’ve seen Bridesmaids, you know the general vibe. The only difference is that this wasn’t funny in real time, and we didn’t have enough functional bathrooms to make it manageable. We tried to stay polite and solution-oriented. We were offered a doctor (which is fine), but what we actually needed was practical support: working A/C, room assistance, and a second bathroom option while people were sick. We got none of that. The next morning, no one helped with bags, the checkout line was massive, and the overall staff attitude ranged from friendly-but-unhelpful to outright rude (especially at the bars). No one checked on guests, even though a lot of people seemed clearly stranded and stressed. I’ve been to many resorts in the Dominican Republic, including in this region. This was the worst experience I’ve had — not because it wasn’t “luxury,” but because basic comfort, support, and problem-solving weren’t there when it mattered. If you’re a young group who loves stairs and chaos, maybe you’ll be fine. If you’re travelling with seniors, kids, or you value functional basics like A/C and responsive support, I’d strongly avoid. PS: If you stay here, bring patience, electrolytes, and a deep respect for the plot of Bridesmaids.

    Sub par at best.

We had no hot water for a week. Maintenance was always coming but never did. Our AC was stuck at 64 degrees you could not turn it off or increase the temperature, again, maintenance never came. The food was very average even thought we did have access to all restaurants. I will say the staff was friendly.

    Honest review

Puerto Plata Don't book this 1043786134 I am currently here until Tuesday and it's horrible. Firstly check in took 2 hours with 2 couples ahead of me. By the time we were done buffet only open 30 minutes with left overs. Room had dirty sheets no hot water. They only gave us towels the first day and only refilled mini fridge the first day. TV was broken. Buffet was gross and everything closed. You can never reach front desk by phone. Took 3 times to fix TV. We were tricked into a site tour, then guy was forcing us to buy an upgrade. One of the clerk told us to give him cash for change but whispered like a drug dealer then told us to find Charlie and William on the beach. At the tropical mini store bought ice cream one day $2 next day a rude cashier charged us $3 and argued that I prob bought ice cream somewhere else. This is supposed to be all inclusive and my kids get no snacks and we need to buy food at store for snacks. Don't bother with this resort. Only good thing was Christmas party and shuttle service
