Beautiful Resort, But Poor Hospitality Decision
We’ve been coming to San Pedro every year for the last decade, staying at Grand Caribe and enjoying the walk up and down the beach to support various resorts and restaurants. Coco Beach has always been one of our regular stops — we’ve dined here many, many times over the years and recommended it to others. This trip, we were turned away and told the pool restaurant is now only available to registered hotel guests. We were told this policy “has always been in place,” but clearly it has not been enforced in the past, because we’ve been welcomed as paying guests for ten years without issue. What makes it even more disappointing is that the resort was visibly empty. Plenty of open tables, plenty of staff, and yet willing customers were turned away. Policies aside, it’s simply poor hospitality — especially in a service industry where employee tips and tourism relationships matter. It’s frustrating to see a resort choose exclusivity over the warm, welcoming spirit that makes San Pedro so special. We genuinely used to love coming here, but after this experience, we’ll be taking our business (and our recommendations) to the many amazing resorts and restaurants up and down the beach that still know how to make visitors feel welcome.

Great Stay, Again!
Excellent stay on our second visit to Coco Beach Resort. The two- bedroom suite was outstanding. Staff were friendly and helpful. Amazing pool - possibly the best we’ve seen. Food was very good, except for the fajitas which bore no resemblance to the real thing we’re accustomed to in Texas. Coming back next year!

Best in class, all categories: Must Experience Hotel
This has to be the best hotel I've stayed in. Staff are amazing. Let me start with our favorite aspect of the hotel: the food. The fine dining restaurant has the most talented chef, Eduardz, who makes meals that are absolutely phenomenal. If he opened his own spot this guy would retire early. He is truly a culinary genius and his meals are not only bursting with flavor, but also works of art. Rafael, a member of the waitstaff, is kind, attentive, and provides impeccable service. I am amazed at how quickly the food was served. Rafael was ready to assist in every way, and speaking to him nightly was a gift. Reynaldo, the concierge, is on point, caring, and makes every day a breeze. His detail oriented style puts you at ease and you can rest assured he has your best interest at heart. He always ensured we were OK with all we had on our bucket list. The pool staff (bar) is fun, quick, and make sure you are well hydrated. A pleasure to be with and always good to connect with. The spa ladies are sweet and relaxed, and give great massages. The groundskeepers kept the area incredibly well maintained and spotless. Every morning the pool was cleaned down, and bathrooms were immaculate. The maid service was terrific. Never short on towels, and the room was always tidy and fresh. This hotel has numerous pools of different temperatures, a huge bonus. The hot tub and swim up bar were 2 of our favorite spots. Plenty of tables, chairs, loungers, shade, and comfy areas to relax. The hotel was so fantastic that we never wanted to leave. When we did venture out, we were always looking foward to our return. We ate dinner at the restaurant, with the amazing staff mentioned, every single night. We also ate breakfast at the pool bar every morning. The hotel is in between San Pedro and the popular secret beach. They rent golf carts (not up our alley, but others love them) on site. The hotel has a dock which makes it simple for tour companies to swing on by and pick you up, incredibly convenient and a huge perk. I will miss this hotel and the wonderful staff so much. If you want an exceptional experience in San Pedro, book the Coco Beach hotel. I cannot say enough about the hotel. The time at Coco Beach hotel will live in my heart forever. Thank you to all the incredible people who made my stay so memorable.

Wonderful resort with top notch staff! We’ll stay there again in the future.
This is our third time at Coco Beach. We enjoy its very nice pools, nicely designed villas, and proximity to the reef, which we take advantage of for snorkeling using their kayaks. The staff is extremely friendly and service oriented and if there are issues, even minor ones, they work to resolve them. The north end of Ambergris Caye is really starting to get built up as compared to 10-15 years ago, so the traffics is much busier along the road behind the resort. But on the flip side there are now more restaurants and shopping options along that road. This is very minor and I only write it to make my review thorough, but there are some young staff that still need to learn things about the service industry. But as a whole we always love Coco Beach and its top notch staff! Next trip to Belize we’ll be there again!
