    amazing experience

Amazing vacation! Way beyond expectations. The hotel is beautiful and the Myan jungle envelopes you as you make your way to the beautiful beaches, but the real highlight is the exceptional service and the people. From the moment we stepped foot in the resort, Omer's warm welcome set the stage for a great experience. Ivana, Quetzabel, Angela and Jose, always made our culinary experience special, as we were greeted by name, they remembered all the things we liked and made sure we were spoiled by their graciousness. Finally, the entertainment staff. Everyone was fantastic! Charlie, Abraham, and Eddie kept the energy and fun going from morning till night and Diego and Tita made us feel like family. You can feel the kindness, joy and happiness. Diego said it best, "even if I no longer work here, I would come as a guest". That is the best review anyone could give, it shows how genuine the experience is.

    A good time...

The transfer from the airport to the resort was smooth and very welcoming. The heat and humidity hit me like a ton of bricks. Our check-in was flawless and we arrived at our room, which is decent, although it did have some weird smell. For some reason there was a scale in the bathroom that did not work, lucky for that because who loses weight at an all inclusive. After ridding ourselves of our clothing, we hustled down to the beach. During this time of year, the waves are quite strong and bring up a seaweed on the beach, which is organic but smelly. After a few days, we got used to this, but it made going into the water, not enticing. So we hung around the pool for most of the day and tried to work on our tans. Adults only but the entertainment was geared towards a younger crowd which got a little tedious with pounding music all the time. The first night was a Mexican buffet down by the pool and I had the best tacos in my life. The following morning we went back down to the pool where buffet style meals for both breakfast and lunch are served.. The display of food is immense, opulent and even decadent. Really like the ceviche, fries and sweet potato fries were excellent. Any type of eggs, salads, fruits, deserts. The desserts suffer from the humidity and another better toaster machine e is required. We stayed away from fresh as the water is not safe to drink, we were careful and stayed well. Wastage is incredible both food and alcohol wise. That night we went to the Steakhouse as there are four different restaurants to choose from. I had a New York steak, which was cooked well and tasted pretty good. The sides were small but alright. I must say the service here is impeccable, although not everyone has a strong command of the English language. So sometimes things get a bit confusing but it’s all good. Last night we tried the Asian restaurant and I highly recommend that no one ever goes there again. The tuna sashimi was decent as it difficult to butcher but from there it was all awful. How someone can destroy Pad Thai I don’t know but then I found out the chef was Mexican. Please have an Asian chef at your Asian restaurant. One spring roll cut in half is not an appetizer. Then we went to the lobby where we heard a little mariachi band that were phenomenal musicians, we had a really good time listening and talking with them. Met two very nice waitstaff, Angeles from the Buffet who made our stay more enjoyable with her smiling face and ever helpful manner. Also Eric from Roucha, who was instrumental in paring our wines with our food orders. Both of these people deserve raises. We went Mexican again the other night and I have a new appreciation for the food but maybe difficult to find that quality in Toronto. Tried Mexican coffee with cinnamon, apple and who knows what else…different and tasty. Although we had reservations at Mama Mia we opted instead to try Raucha, an international restaurant. Pleasantly surprised by the food, tabbouleh with avocado and tasty sea bass. So although I would not return, too many others places to visit, I would recommend to others and rate it 7.5/10.

The manager, Alejanro, at Beloved was so legit! We came from Xcaret, tired and hungry and he was so attentive and kind to my wife and I! Amazing service from this place and this man!

Fantastic Holiday at Catalonia Royal Tulum – June 10th to 20th

We’ve just returned from an incredible 10-day stay at the Catalonia Royal Tulum and can honestly say it was one of the best all-inclusive holidays we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how friendly and hardworking the staff were—always smiling and going out of their way to ensure guests had everything they needed. Their positive energy truly made the experience special. The restaurants were outstanding. Every evening we enjoyed delicious three-course meals, beautifully served at the table—a refreshing change from the usual buffet style at most all-inclusive resorts. The variety and quality of food was excellent, with something to suit every taste. Daytime entertainment was another highlight. From relaxing stretching sessions on the beach to fun pool games and trivia, there was always something enjoyable to take part in. One of our favourite experiences was the sip-and-paint class on the beach, where we painted beautiful sunsets on canvas to take home as souvenirs—such a lovely touch. The pool bar staff also deserve recognition—they worked tirelessly in the heat, serving cocktails all day with a smile. And the entertainment team—the aptly named “happiness providers”—were fantastic. A very special shout-out to Abraham, one of the happiness providers, who went above and beyond to make our holiday extra memorable. His high energy, dedication to his job, great sense of humour, and all-round positive vibe were a solid 10/10. He was a pleasure to be around and played a huge part in making our stay so enjoyable. We’d also like to say a heartfelt thank you to Abraham for the lovely shout-out during our 2-year wedding anniversary celebration at the Rauxa Restaurant—it made the evening feel even more special and is a moment we won’t forget. Thank you, Catalonia Royal Tulum, for a brilliant holiday—we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
