Feb 14, 2026Good Resort - could be even better
The staff at the Exhale pool were great. Roger, Edwin and Abby were excellent. They were always available for whatever we needed. The Exhale Concierges Vincente and Victor were great. They are very friendly and they were attentive to all the Exhale guests. Our Butler, Estefania was a sweetheart and helped us with reservations for the restaurants. The French restaurant was the best but the Mexican and Italian ones were also good. The breakfast buffet was very good. Service was great and food was tasty with lots of choices. The coffee shop was open 24 hrs and the coffee was excellent. The housekeeping staff were efficient and had our room cleaned at the same time every day. The room was clean and comfortable. The pizza by the pool was also very good! We did experience a few negatives. We were there for Super Bowl. Breathless had a great set up to view the game but the charge was excessive...$180 USD for a seat. I think if you pay a premium for Exhale, they shouldn't charge so much...or at all. The "pool pits" and covered sun beds were also available for a charge. $100-200 USD for the day. Finding seats poolside was difficult and most of the sun beds were sitting empty where they could have had extra lounge chairs for guests. They had high end alcohol...but it was difficult to get even when asked for. The "sports bar" by the pool was always busy and loud. There wasn't a quiet bar to enjoy a nice cocktail before or after dinner. The bartenders were vey busy and they could have used a few more servers for support. The whole Secrets thing was weird too. Secrets folks could come over to Breathless but Breathless folks could not go to the Secrets property. There is only one restaurant on the Secrets side which would explain why it was so difficult to get a dinner reservation between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Not quite sure why both resorts were not open to everyone. Secrets people were also sitting at the Exhale pool which doesn't seem right and contributed to the lack of seating around the pool. It would have been better if there was a good dinner buffet. The dinner buffet was horrible. We tried to eat there twice because we were a little late to get a spot in the other restaurants and both times the food was bad. The second time we just left and ordered room service. The steak house wasn't that good. The two steaks we received were pretty tough. While the rooms were nice, it was a little disappointing that there wasn't wine or liquor options as I've seen in other 5 star resorts. Also, no snacks of any kind. Overall it was a good resort and the staff were great but they could do a few things to make the experience even better and truly a 5 star.

Beautiful pools and beach. The specialty restaurants offered top-notch, quality menu options. The staff were very accommodating, friendly. We upgraded and stayed in an ocean view room. It was fabulous!

Fun was had by all!
Staff is lovely and the resort is such a fun time! The beach is nice, the pools are great and there are so many fun activities. We enjoyed the restaurants and loved dancing at the night club. Sometimes it can be loud, there is music going from 9am until 11pm so sometimes it was difficult to rest in the room. Overall we had a great time!

Feb 12, 2026Disappointing compared to Breathless in Punta Cana
Breathless Riviera Cancun was OK, but disappointing, compared to Breathless in Punta Cana. We expected our experience to be similar to Punta Cana, but the resort was smaller, the food was not nearly as good, and they did not have much for pool entertainment. In Punta Cana you could play water volleyball all day long but here they only set the net up for one hour each afternoon. There were also no foam parties like they advertise at Riviera Cancún. Unless you were an Xhale club member, there were no restaurant options to sit down and order breakfast. Our only breakfast option was buffet or room service. If we had gone to this Breathless first, maybe it wouldn’t have seen so bad. It just didn’t live up to our expectations.

Overall terrible experience exhale club was not worth getting for it to have access to more things and still didn’t still had to pay more things out of pocket to have access to it useless shouldn’t even be labeled as an all inclusive
