  Better than expected!

  Just returned from a 7 day trip! And for the most part it was so much better than I expected from reading previous reviews! My husband and I are in our early 60s and travel at least 5 times a year sometimes more mostly to Mexico but to DR, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Aruba. We are UVC Black Impression Members. I love to review the good and the bad to assist others get what they want out of a resort. Checked in at the Exhale Club. Was not offered a welcome drink so got my own at the bar which is not normal. Was not impressed at all and even less impressed when we walked into the Secrets Preferred Club which was so nice. Was able to check in early but of course room not ready until 4:30 which is normal at most all resorts. However was able to change and let the fun begin! Oh was upgraded one level. Went to the sports bar which is outside and we loved! Pool table is available Jenga played Connect Four then the amazing activity team was offering hat painting which was a blast. The activity team is so active at this resort and keeps you busy with activities all day and night. Truly the best activity team at any resort we have been to. We played Bingo, water spin classes, water aerobics, blackjack in the water, water volleyball, beach volleyball. They are great! Truly a great group of team members! Drinks - very inconsistent among all the bartenders. This is probably one of the biggest letdowns of the trip. Pools - there are 3 and they are so much fun! Yes even for a 60 year old. We were preferred so always stayed in the preferred area and man talk about service! Enrique and Vincent are your men! Daily they will find you a place to sit. If you want sun if you do not want sun those two are at your service! Again drinks are always flowing with Roger and Edwin there when the cup was not even empty. I could not have asked for a better pool experience. We are pool ppl so that is important to us. Beach was not and bar service was good but didn’t stay there a lot. Food - we did not enjoy breakfast as we are not buffet ppl and they did not offer preferred breakfast daily. So had to go to buffet for breakfast. Lunch - pizza, buffet and pool side grill was available which again we would have liked for Bites to be open and was not for 5 of the days. Dinner was the best meal of the day of course we loved all the restaurants. In order of our like: 1. French with the leadership of Lorenzo was truly amazing. Ate there twice. 2. Silk City so good. 3. Italian was good cant really mess it up. 4. Didn’t care for the steakhouse but hubby did. 5. Didn’t eat at Mexican because they had a Mexican buffet/show at night and wasn’t able to go there. But Mexican show was good. They do have another outside buffet which hubby loved. Nightly entertainment we really enjoyed also get the Hyatt app to keep track of nightly activities. Also they give team members a schedule so we were able to ask each one. Room service was great no complaints at all! Nightly turn down service without a miss! Spa - we are Spa snubs! I can truly say that the spa at Breathless is truly the best spa we have been to ever. Their hydrotherapy is truly the most organized and the massage we had far exceeded our expectations! Talk about relaxing they win! Overall I can’t say enough about my experience at Breathless Riviera! This is coming from a picky snobby resort traveler. We loved it. Thank you for the memories Breathless. We will be back!

  Great place the picante restaurant was the best one and Nicolas our server was great! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to go

  Wonderful!

  I had a blast! Food was great and so were the pools and drink selection, the gym exceeded my expectations as well! Definitely considering coming back!

  Birthday Trip to Breathless Riviera Cancun

  I stayed at Breathless Riviera Cancun 9/5 -9/9. The hotel is pretty and well maintained very clean. Most of the staff was nice and friendly. *Room- I stayed in 7201 an Xcelerate room with an ocean view . Its really just an Alure room with an ocean view. No difference at all except price. So don't waste your money. *Upon entering the room the smell was unbearable. It smelled like sulfur. We were told it was because of the ocean smell coming inside the room. Thank goodness for incense. *Housekeeping left our door open daily after cleaning it. The door didn't close automatically when you left,it needed to be pulled close, and they never closed it. Thank goodness we were on the end and no one could walk past our room. *They used scented toilet paper in the bathroom which is a NO NO for women. Food- the food was a 6.5 out of 10. They didn't have any mangos. (1ST TIME IN MEXICO AND THEY DIDNT HAVE MANGOS) but they do have Gluten Free options. -Spumante- the GF carbonara was good - Hibachi - was good and GF as well -Bites- was good. -Spoons(buffet) was OK not as much variety as the other Breaethless Resorts I stayed at Beach- the beach was dark and dirty looking. It had all the remnants from the previous Hurricane so it wasn't swim-able for me. The smell of the ocean was very toxic. It smelled strongly of sulfur and gave us a headache after a few minutes. Drinks- the drinks weren't bad. Entertainment- it was good just not much action on the slow days at the resort (Sunday & Monday) Overall is was a nice stay.
