Defintely NOT deserving of a 6 Golden rating
We just returned from our 3rd visit in past 4 years at Breathless Punta Cana. Upon arrival we were upgraded to the Exhale Club- thought we were in for a treat. Unfortunately this gave us no extra treatment besides an on site rep who did not do anything except deliver us ice after repeated calls to room service. In previous visits every floor has had a working ice machine for self service. We checked 3 different buildings/ all three floors hunting for working ice machines. We were told they were waiting for parts. The food quality has suffered greatly. The selection was small-seafood very limited and don't even consider the beef as it was not even edible unless you were in a specialty restaurant for dinner. The dining service was the only thing that has not diminished. The staff were overall very attentive. We have stayed at many other 6 Golden resorts and have never been so disappointed as were were on this trip. This will be our LAST trip to this poor to average resort!
Worst Holiday Ever
Sorry guys not sure what everyone else sees in this place but it’s a cross between Wolf of Wall Street and Love Island definitely not somewhere for the over 60’s!! unless of course you want to spend megabucks and upgrade which they push at you as soon as you walk through the door. No where to have a quiet drink if the weathers not good as it wasn’t when we were there the place is just one big wind tunnel with nowhere to get out of it definitely no comfort in the public areas. Couldn’t wait to get home!!
Not what was expected
As individuals living in the northeast and staying at other 5 star resorts we expected the same 5 star quality as we have in the past in terms of service, food, room, etc. all to be the luxury that was paid for and expected. Sadly, for the first 1/2 of our 10 day trip we could not relax due to the numerous issues we had and during the 2nd half did our best to enjoy the situation we were in. The trip was suppose to be the ultimate luxury experience with an xhale clue swim out, but upon arrival we spent 2 1/1 hour being pushed around, getting lot in the shuffle and staff forgetting who we were before we even got to our room. Once we did get to our room, we took about 5 steps in an immediately requested to be changed to a differerent room because of the small of must and mold. After looking at 3 more rooms we settled in but were skeptical because the room smelled of some sort of air freshner. Upon returning to our room in the evening the mold and musty smell had crept in. In the morning we went to the whale club and asked to speak to a UVC consultant or manager, we were sent to multiple location on the resort and were given the run around until we were back at the xhale club lounge were we again asked to speak to a manager and rep from UVC because of the issues we were having. In hopes to rectify the situation we told the personal that we wanted to speak to a UVC rep or manager about moving to ONYX resort next store. They moved us, but never let us speak to a manager or UVC rep. At ONYX we had issue with our safe combination being reset/changed for two days and on the 3rd say we came back to our room to find our safe opened. When we called security they never arrived that night so we need to then go in the morning to report the incident wasting more time of our vacation. Additionally, we let them know and showed them pictures of the two cockroaches that we found in our room. So, they had us move rooms again...wasting more of our vacation time packing and unpacking. We have been home from vacation for two weeks and there has still been no follow-up to the safe break-in. Food: The food at this resort was the worst vacation food that we have ever had. Each night after dinner at a restaurant we would end up at the buffet trying to piece something together to eat because we were still hungry. If you pay for prem alcohol you can only get it at the xhale lounge which isn't near any of the main pools. There is more, but I"m limited by characters.
Shut down all services!
We had no services from Wednesday till Saturday! No Services!!! We had to go to the restaurants at the resort next to us and then that resort shut down on Friday, so again we had no services. I believe this could have been handle a completely different way. Just saying.

had the pleasure of staying at this resort during my visit to Punta Cana and I honestly cannot say enough great things. The food was amazing, the entertainment was in abundance, the vibe was just everything. It was perfect for my boyfriend and I. There are certain people you meet and touch your heart and that was the staff at Breathless. Good people. We met Nicolas while having dinner the first night and he was so accommodating and helped make every dinner after that just as great with the utmost professionalism and kindness, simultaneously. The go-to spot to get drinks is the Wink Lobby Bar. The drinks are great, but it's the team working that particular bar that's worth the walk there. Murfi, Roberto, Ada, Miguel, Cristian-- they are the best. So fun, easy to talk to, amazing customer service, they work so well together and you can tell they're passionate about making the guests happy. That bar sets the tone for the whole resort. Lastly. Shoutout to Pikachu from the entertainment staff. He really does his job and entertains! Great kid whose smile lights up a room! We will be planning a trip back to Breathless Punta Cana just to see all the people mentioned above. We were so sad to part ways with them, took pictures and promised to stay in touch. That's our Dominican family now! Incredible job Breathless for hiring top talent and ensuring to not just fill positions but fill them with the right people. I can't wait to see all of your resorts. This one sold us on all of your properties.
