  It will do

  Cheaper all inclusive choice. Nothing to scream about. Staff was nice and provided assistance as needed. Food was good enough but a little on the saltier side. Hibachi was pretty good. Guests were not the best. Prepare for drunk behavior and poor choices. There's a quieter side on the other end closer to the beach.

  Beware before booking

  I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. It rained almost the entire time I was there, and it seemed like every building had leaks. Even the lobby was full of buckets trying to catch water. My room was no exception – there was a leak from the air conditioning filter in the ceiling, causing a puddle to form in the middle of the floor. For the price you pay to stay here, I expected much better upkeep and attention to detail. Unfortunately, the management was unhelpful and seemed to ignore the obvious issues with the hotel. The overall service was poor, and the food was mediocre at best. I will definitely not be staying here again and cannot recommend it to others. There are better options out there for the same price, or even less.

  Excellent food, but not a 5 star resort

  My wife and I stayed at Breathless, Punta Cana for 9 days in the middle of November. We upgraded to the xhale club when we checked in. Our room was in building 4 overlooking the main pool. The room is divided in 2 parts. The entry way has access to the bathroom, the closet and the refrigerator. The bathroom is spacious. It has a double sink, a water closet and a walk in shower. At first we had problems getting hot water in the shower. We learned to let the water in the sink and the shower run for several minutes before getting in the shower. We only had 2 days when the water pressure was so low, the shower was unusable. The bedroom is large, but quite plain. The only decorations on the walls were the headboard for the bed, the TV and a mirror. The walls and ceiling were a matching beige color. Besides the bed, the only other furniture was a sofa, a coffee table and a desk/bureau with a chair. There wasn’t enough clothing storage. We stored as much as we could in the few shelves that were available. We ended up leaving some of our clothes in our suit cases. Our housekeeper, Concepcion, was amazing. She took very good care of our room and always left it impeccable. The beverage service visited our room most days and restocked whatever beverages we used and replenished our snacks. We paid extra to get the xhale club to have the ultimate experience. Overall the xhale club was a disappointment. The main benefits of the xhale club are the xhale lounge, the private pool, a reserved area on the beach and the assistance of a concierge. The lounge is located on one corner of the resort property. The lounge has its own bar with the skills of an excellent bar tender. The lounge itself is not very welcoming. It suffers from a lack of comfortable seating. The TV’s in the lounge are constantly playing advertising for the resort spa. There are menus for ordering food, but there is nothing readily available. The xhale club concierges have their desks in the lounge. The xhale club private pool is next to the lounge. The pool area has limited shade and seating. The xhale beach area is nicer than the other beach section of Breathless. The xhale section has more shade and the chairs have more space. While we were at Breathless, the surf was very rough and there was a constant wind coming off the ocean. Our concierge sent us an email every day letting us know which restaurants would be open that evening and she let us know some of the activities going on that day at the resort. There are ten restaurants at the resort. We ate at eight of the restaurants. The food was excellent at all of the restaurants. Xhale club members get private seating for breakfast and lunch. We tried the private seating, but chose to eat at the Spoon restaurant. The Spoon is the buffet restaurant. We found the selection of food at the buffet more enticing then the specialty restaurants. The specialty restaurants alternate which ones are open for dinner. Usually there are at least five specialty restaurants open for dinner. Only the hibachi restaurant takes reservations. The other restaurants seat guests based on space. The resort has 2 main pools. There is a party pool and the main pool. Both pools were crowded while we were there. There is music at both pools. The party pool has a DJ in the afternoon. During the day, the entertainment team spends their time at the party pool. The main stage for night time entertainment is outside. This is OK on most days. It only rained twice while we were there. The main entertainment begins at 9:30 PM. The resort has an app for your phone. The app is the Hyatt, World of Hyatt, All Inclusive Resort app. This app has information on the resort including the daily schedule of events, the restaurant schedule, a map of the resort and other information about the resort. The staff at the resort really work hard and made us feel welcome. Special thanks to Wilson G., Wilson R., Murphy, Melryn, Ulysses, Kelly and Concepcion. The amenities at the resort did not meet our expectations for a five star resort. One example is the choice of wine for dinner was limited to red or white. It turns out the red wine is merlot. We never tried the white wine. Another example is at the specialty restaurants, only the staff at the French restaurant checked with us if our meal was OK. At the other restaurants, we were always able to flag down staff if we needed anything. The party atmosphere was throughout the resort. We missed having an area where we could relax in comfort and just chill and have a drink. We also missed comfortable chairs. The only lounge chairs at the resort were near the pools or on the beach. And even these chairs did not have cushions. On the positive side, the food was excellent throughout the resort. The bed in our room was one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. We found the Dreams resort next door to be very welcoming. Look for oir separate review of this resort.

  Breathless Punta Cana is AMAZING!

  We went to Breathless Punta Cana for our honeymoon. The experience from start to finish was a DREAM. The staff was SO welcoming and helpful, as it was our first time out of the country. We upgraded to the Xhale club and were blessed with Emilio as our personal concierge. We felt so pampered and loved! It made this special trip for us even more special. Highly recommend and we will be back!

  Very happy

  The resort was awesome! The pools and the beach were amazing! The food was great . The staff was amazing especially Santos. The resort was very clean and beautiful. I highly recommend breathless. We will definitely come back and experience it again
