What We Love

  • We love being just steps away from the beach, plus the resort is very family friendly and it's not too big.

Things to Know

  • With tons of free water activities to keep everyone busy, a friendly vibe and a cozy atmosphere, Bolongo Bay in St. Thomas is a perfect match for just about anybody.
Going on vacation is all about having fun. So lose yourself in the Caribbean vibe at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. Family owned and operated since 1974 by the Doumengs, the resort's small, friendly atmosphere offers a vacation that seems like home. We're not the only ones who think the Doumengs are doing it right.

Richard Doumeng, Managing Director, was recently awarded the "Golden Conch" Caribbean Hotelier of the Year Award by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association. Get lost in the all-inclusive paradise at Bolongo Bay. Located on a 1,000-ft stretch of white sand, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort redefines the word "beachfront." Kick back on a lounge chair and watch the kids swim, or check out the freshwater pool for rum punch at the swim-up bar. After you've worked up an appetite, two open-air restaurants draw you in: lobster specialties are a hit at The Oasis, and we hear conch fritters at Iggies Beach Bar and Grill are delish. Wednesday nights, Iggies hosts the wild Carnival Extravaganza, with steel-pan tunes and a limbo show, or you catch a cab to Charlotte Amalie for more action.

Whether you're hanging out at the beach or seeing the sights, there are tons of things to do during the day. Start a game of beach volleyball, or challenge the kids to paddleboat races. Try parasailing, or book a snorkel or scuba excursion to see the underwater world. Day trips to nearby St. John, St. Croix and the British Virgin Islands are popular, but St. Thomas also has great appeal. Paradise Point has unforgettable views. The shoreline is beautiful from Magens Bay. And kids love feeding stingrays at Coral World.

Book an appointment with the massage therapist after a long day to unwind. Since Bolongo Bay is smaller and intimate, all 64 rooms are beachfront, so you can kick back and enjoy the Caribbean from the privacy of your balcony. Families don't have to navigate any pesky stairs with young children in the Beachfront Room, and if you're traveling on a budget, the Value Room is just right.

    40th Anniversary Family Celebration

There were a total of 16 people in our group which required 4 rooms with 2 queen beds in each room. The all-inclusive is the way to go!

    Not impressed

We saw the resort on tiktok and decided to book even though it was quite expensive. Getting to the resort was great. The food was delicious even though it was lukewarm 99% of the time. Food service took over a hour or more after ordering and still came out barely warm. 15% gratuity is included in the all inclusive, however if you do not tip more, the servers talk and you will not get great service. The rooms are not bad. Air conditioning was nice and cold. Shower was very tiny. The body wash and shampoo was never refilled in the bathroom. Glad we brought our own. Heavenly days excursion was the highlight of our trip. The boat staff were fantastic. One of us has celiac and was glutened twice, so if you have food allergies, please be cautious and tell and retell staff. Shout out to Shay, 007, and Ingra for amazing food and bar service. They were the absolute best. The resort has great views but we will not be back.

    Zero complaints

My husband and I were married at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort last week. We spent a week at the resort and have zero complaints. Staff were friendly, food was excellent, and drinks were great. The room was clean, bed was comfortable enough, and AC was cold. Bolongo Bay is truly “all-inclusive” when it comes to meals and drinks. The excursions are very reasonable. The wedding coordinators were absolutely amazing and we were shocked by how well orchestrated the event was. It took us a few days to realize that island time is a real thing. If you are looking for a swanky resort, Bolongo is not the place for you. We prefer a laid back environment, and that is exactly what you will get at Bolongo. We are already planning a return trip with our two teenage daughters.

    Nice family owned resort

We chose Bolongo Bay because we were diving with St Thomas Dive Center that is connected to the resort and we liked having the all inclusive option. We enjoyed the resort overall but it does not have the prettiest of beaches, lots of sea grass. It did have a really friendly staff and the activities people found fun things to keep people busy if they wanted to participate. Rooms were very clean, AC worked great and the bed was comfortable which is all we needed. The only knock we had were with the restaurant Iggys. We didn’t know that you had to have reservations for breakfast and dinner so we ended up eating fairly late most of the evenings and it took a long time. The 3 mornings we were diving we could not go for breakfast but the staff was very kind and allowed us to order some quick items like muffins and bagels to get us by. All of our servers were great but special shout outs to Donna, Inger and Monai, we enjoyed you all so much. Food is delicious and servings are big. Kudos to the kitchen for turning out all that fantastic food. They have entertainment at the restaurant every evening and we did enjoy that very much. We would definitely recommend Bolongo Bay to anyone visiting St Thomas but especially to divers looking for a great place to stay with an awesome dive operator on site.
