paid for trip in full as a UNIQUE member no benefits were received, with an EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF with the exception of two employees at the Breakfast Buffet & Two at the Front Desk. Was charged an additional $211.70 US at Check Out with no explanation and no Charges made by me and added to the room.

Bad customer Services at Barceló Hotel San José, CR
Extremly bad communication with hotel. Will not recommend anyone to use this facility. Been asking to speak with the hotel manager for over two days, and nothing. Followed all instructions and did transportation request 5 days before, and they keep saying we haven’t, but we have proof. Been sending us different contradicting, and confusing messages. This is a red flag about the management, and hotel staff. Beware, and stay away from San José, Costa Rica Barceló Hotel.

Excellent Value and Attentive Staff
Our stay was short due to other travel plans but it was very enjoyable! The amenities were great, the pool was clean, I especially liked the layout and plants around the grounds and pool. The spa was nice, the masseuse gave a firm massage. Staff was very helpful, attentive and pleasant to speak with, from reception to the gift store sales person. A highlight was the piano player in the evening. We only had one dinner there and that was the only area that was a bit disappointing, the presentation was great but the quality was not good unfortunately, the drinks were delicious however.
