A Great Beachfront All-Inclusive Experience in Puerto Vallarta
Barceló Puerto Vallarta is a great choice for travelers looking for an all-inclusive beachfront getaway that offers excellent value for the money. The food was a standout—consistently delicious with plenty of variety across meals. The service staff were polite, attentive, and clearly dedicated to making guests feel welcome, which added a lot to the overall experience. The rooms were a decent size and comfortable, providing everything needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel’s oceanfront location was another highlight, offering beautiful views and easy access to the beach. Overall, Barceló Puerto Vallarta delivers a high-quality all-inclusive experience at a very reasonable price.

Disappointing
My family stayed at Barcelo Puerto Vallarta for a week before Christmas. There were 13 of us between 6 rooms. My family vacations together in Mexico often. We have stayed at various Dreams and Iberostar resorts, all of which I would highly recommend. We decided to try Barcelo upon our travel agent’s recommendation. Here is my honest review. Pros: 1. The rooms were very spacious and clean. 2. The balconies off the room were also very spacious. 3. We liked the size of the resort. It was small and easily walkable. 4. The resort is surrounded by lush jungles. 5. The breakfast buffet was the best meal of the day. 6. There are a number of restaurants, pharmacies, and little shops in walking distance. 7. There are boats available for excursions right off the resort beach. 8. There are kayaks and paddle boards available to take out for free. 9. There was a turtle release for the children on one of the nights which was very special. 10. Staff that were exceptional: Oscar Martinez and Fray 11. The staff from the Jack Sparrow boat company, located at the entrance to the beach were fantastic. Unfortunately, my list of CONS is lengthy: 1. The food at the buffet was pretty awful. The food at the restaurants was not great either. 2. You can only book at the a la carte restaurants 3 times and you must reserve the same day. 3. Our family of 13 were only able to reserve a table all together at one restaurant. 4. There’s only two bars and one is the swim up bar. So, if you’re looking for a drink in the evening, there is only one very crowded bar with little seating and a sports bar atmosphere. Most resorts I’ve been to have a nice bar in the lobby. This was a major disappointment. 5. There is nowhere at the resort to sit around and play cards with good lighting and more than six seats. There is a well lit courtyard, but we were told by a manager, Mauricio, not to move furniture. When I asked where we should go, he told me that the resort does not accommodate large groups. I found this manager to be very rude and my interaction with him soured our trip. 6. The beach is steep and small. There is only one main access point to the beach and Our one member of the family with mobility issues required help getting up and down to the beach. It is swimmable and safe; however, there is construction happening and the view is obstructed by a large barge, crane, and cement truck. 7. There were mosquito-like bugs that left our family members covered with very itchy welts. I would highly recommend bringing bug spray with you. Bug spray is provided, but it’s not well advertised and quite often was hard to find. 8. There was a power outage one day that lasted from 9 AM until 6 PM. This was a regional power outage, not the hotel. The hotel handled it as best they could but I thought it was important to include it. 9. There was a games room; however, you had to pay to use the equipment. A game of pool was 10 USD. 10. Probably most significant was the quality of service. In all our years of travelling to Mexico, we’ve always found the staff warm, welcoming, and very accommodating. We found the staff at Barcelo to be quite the opposite. We were often made to feel as though we were imposing on staff. Very few smiles. Very little engagement. In summary, I would not recommend Barcelo and will not be booking again in the future.

Average resort, but good value for money.
Large family group of 13. Age range from 7 to 77. Overall the resort was clean and staff was good. We had an issue with the Manager after piece of glass broken on table, he seemed to only care about who broke it and not checking in our family, one of which was cut by the glass breaking. This left a bad taste in our mouths. The rooms are large and the resort is small in size. His words were "they are family resort and don't do well hosting large parties such as are's". The cons, were the food is quite low quaility and selection was limited, you also could not take food on the pool deck and had to eat in their restaurant. Breakfast was by far the best meal. We did not opt for the premium package so we only had 3 dinner vouchers. They also have an issue with bugs, this is due to being on the edge of the tropical forest, they do provide bug spray, but many of our family got bitten and had a really hard time with inflammation from the bug bites. If you are looking for budget friendly resort that provide a nice pool and beach access then it is probably for you.

Barcelo 12/25
It was fine. Wouldn’t do it again though. We felt as though we were taken advantage of for “upgrading” which was the most upsetting. There was no need. The room was no different than the one we originally booked and the “premium lounge” was a joke. There was no benefit whatsoever. Save your money.

best experience ever
This is the third time we've been to Barcelo and it is as fantastic as always. All the staff are exceptional. Cesar in the premium lounge is literally the cream of the crop! He is thoughtful, kind and his service has made our trip. his generosity brings us back to this resort.
