This is our second visit to the Barcelo here in Puerto Vallarta. We stumbled upon this beautiful resort by chance on our last trip here in January. We had an awful experience at another hotel and left the next day. While searching for a new place to stay we encountered the Barcelo and were greeted by the amazing Cassandra Rodriguez who saved our trip by making it such an unbelievable experience ❤️ she was incredibly nice and easy to talk to. She brought us over to the premium lounge and even upgraded our rooms! It’s because of Cassandra that my family and I have returned for even longer now and have recommended the Barcelo to our friends and family. Some who will be coming here soon. We arrived from the airport late in the evening and at check in we just so happened to run into Cassandra again! It turned out that because we made two reservations with different names, one being premium and the other one not, it meant that as a family we wouldn’t always be able to dine together in the restaurants and some would not be able to order room service or stay in the premium lounge with the others. We weren’t able to book our package together as a group as we were coming from two different places but Cassandra came to our rescue again! She upgraded both rooms and even upgraded my uncle to a gold bracelet so he could enjoy everything with us. Cassandra has given us many reasons to come back and we will for years to come ❤️ muchísimas gracias Cassandra!

Having book a regular room and a premium room I had the chance to see the difference. If you book regular, don't expect and service for your room.

Nice resort
My husband and I were here for 10 days for a family wedding. Lovely location, nice rooms, and very friendly service. The beach is nice, not very big, but there are always loungers and umbrellas handy. Yatziry, at the concierge desk, was extremely helpful and made dinner reservations very easy! Our room was cleaned regularly, with fresh, fluffy towels each day. The bed and mattress were extremely comfortable. The physical condition of our room could use a little bit of attention, and the resort is somewhat tired looking, but OK. It would be nice to have face cloths in the bathroom; they were provided by special request only. There is no body lotion provided, but there is shampoo, body wash, and bar soap. Also, the rainfall shower is nice, but it sure would be handy to have had a handheld shower as well. That would also conserve much water. The in-room, mini fridge was stocked daily with fresh drinks, and there was plenty of bottled water provided each day. The staff in the buffet restaurant was always plentiful, attentive, friendly, and ready to serve. The beachfront, open air “Los Arcos” restaurant was a lovely place to dine. However, the repetitive music in there really needs to be changed up!! There are two self serve, soft ice cream machines in the resort; a lovely touch and very popular with everyone! Overall, a nice place to spend a vacation. And about a half hour taxi/Uber drive to downtown Puerto Vallarta.

Awesome property in a great location
I love this property because it is away from the hustle of town but still close enough for a visit. The beach is awesome and the staff members are fantastic. The swim up bar was very nice and the speciality restaurants were great
