Credit Card Fraud!!!
Beware of the cleaning staff!!! When I returned home from vacation I noticed four charges on my credit card that I did not make. My credit card never left the room after check-in. Initially, I assumed that someone may have skimmed my card at check-in. I took pesos and ony used pesos while in Mexico. Over $2,000 USD was charged to my credit card on 9/11/25! One charge was for Vallarta Adventures of about $600 and three were hotels in PV. I immediately called my bank. I then called my daughter and her husband who were also traveling with us and told her to check her card. She did and said she didn't have any charges on her card. Well, she just let me know that her husband had two charges on his business credit card that he never took out of his wallet while in Mexico (what do you know, one was for Vallarta Adventures as well!). She also stated that one day after being at the pool she came into the room and noticed that her phone and Airpods were on top of her clothes in her drawer when she knew that they had been left at the bottom of the drawer under clothing. Also, her husband's wallet was in a different place than where he had left it. I have to assume that the cleaning staff (who we did not allow in our room during our stay but obviously came in anyway) took photos of the credit cards and charged to companies where they received a kickback. I usually like to give people the benefit of the doubt and I assume people are trustworthy but unfortunately this isn't the case at the Barcelo PV. The thing is that they use your credit card that you won't notice a charge on until you get home in most instances. All cash and other valuables were left alone (computers, phones, Airpods). I've attempted several times to call Barcelo but get disconnected on every attempt. Other than this issue, we had a nice time at the hotel but came home with souvenir bug bites, LOTS of them. Staff in the restraurants and at the pools were awesome!

An amazing experience
Armando was our server, and I have been many places in the world, he is someone you remember. His hospitality. Going above and beyond for the guests, this is someone you remember always, ivect capri and the team are amazing. I can’t thank Armando victor enough for everything, and the attention to detail: I would come back here to this hotel just to be served by them, thank you from Canada!

Great resort
Overall, great experience. Great Ocean view Great House hospitality. Awesome pools. Can’t really complain. And as for the food. It’s typical all inclusive hotel food

Never stay at the Barcelo hotel Puerto vallarta
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The entire place smelled awful—especially the hallways and even the buffet area. The buffet itself was gross and barely edible. We had to wait two days just to get our shower handle fixed, and the AC felt like it was from the 1950s, barely working at all. To top it off, they made us make a reservation for the restaurant even though it wasn’t even close to full, and we had to present a voucher just to eat there. Completely inconvenient and unnecessary. I will never stay at this hotel again and do not recommend it to anyone.
