Barcelo Puerto Vallarta Dec 2025 is a trip I will never forget! This is the hotel I was proposed to and got engaged at and will 100% return in the future. If you're looking to balance a family friendly and/or adults only trip, this hotel was able to do both well. If you want to adventure into town, the staff in the front are knowledgeable and kind and will get you there with tips and tricks. They offer so many things that you can do both a really active vacation and/or a nice relaxing one and I loved having the option to chose either or.

Everything is wonderful, except food and the beach. We were a group of 16 (46-68 years old) celebrating the 28th wedding anniversary of my wife and I. Most of us are not seafood fans, and chicken and beef dishes were tasteless. Excellent: Service, attentive staff, beautiful grounds, lovely swimming pools, great housekeeping, bars, drinks, cleanliness. In the Buffet (La Fuente): Shrimp, fish, Lobster/crab Not so good: Food quality, taste, and type was at best average if one is not a seafood fan. Most beef were overcooked or not tender.. Beach very small, and lots of boats within 50' of the shore (Many photos on-line depicting this).

Do not bother with premium
Stayed recently. Not sure we should have bothered with premium. Our room was great but not sure where the premium came into play. The Lounge was a total joke. Pools are nice. Beach is wicked steep. Premium value is questionable Room service is nice.

Barcelo premium expirence
Cesar Lopez very welcoming makes wonderful drinks in the premium lounge. They also have great snacks and a place to relax or party all in one only for premium guest.

My family and I had a great vacation at the Barcelo in Mimaloya. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool and enjoying great service. We would definitely stay here again even though it's not perfect (what is????) One of the highlight of our trip was a whale watching and snorkeling boat tour by "Nathaly Charters Fishing Snorkeling & Tours" [Link below]. Chava and his two sons were great guides and we would highly recommend their services. Positives: - The staff are amazing. They are friendly and extremely hard working. They seem to enjoy their jobs and are more often than not smiling while they do everything possible to help the guests. - The resort is very beautiful and well kept. It's showing some signs of age but you can tell that they take pride in their property. - Mismaloya is a small village with a really nice beach. We enjoyed exploring some of the village. - They have nightly entertainment for those that are interested. - We were happy with our family suite on the premium level. The cleaning staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. Negatives - The food quality isn't always great. In many cases the food is cold and bland. - We found that the way the resort is configured causes the sound to be very loud in the rooms while the entertainment was happening. It wasn't a major issue but something to be aware of. - We had a poor experience at the Capri (Italian) al a carte restaurant.
