Wonderful family vacation at the Barcelo Maya Palace!
Our family of nine - ages 72 to 3 years old - enjoyed six wonderful days at the Barcelo Maya Palace are ready to return! This resort is top notch; everything is clean, beautiful and well-maintained which takes a lot in this climate. We booked two premium ocean front jr. suites - maybe the best rooms in the resort - and one family suite, purchasing premium wristbands for the occupants. Our one complaint was the family suite - a perfect room for parents and two big teen-aged boys - was a long way from the other two rooms and the beach, pools etc. Is premium level worth it? Who knows, but we thoroughly enjoyed the in-room welcome, premium lobby, ala carte restaurants and the included room service so it worked for us. The pools, jet skis, painting pottery, spa services, bingo etc. — we enjoyed lots of the available activities - yes some were additional cost - and left knowing what else we’ll do next time. Some in our group walked across the road to Kantun-chi Ecopark and swam in beautiful cenotes and stayed up to enjoy some of the evening shows at the resort. The one restaurant disappointment was the Brasserie that we booked for our big family meal. The service was bad, the endive salad inedible, and the beef Wellington tough as shoe leather. Meals at the Caribe, Rodizio, and Mexico Lindo at the Maya Beach were outstanding in every way! Thank you Barcelo Maya Palace for an absolutely wonderful family vacation. Until next time!

The resort was very clean, the food was generally quite good and the service staff were mostly excellent. Our room had a few minor maintenance issues. We didn't appreciate screaming kids in the Brassiere Restaurant, and nothing was done about it. They disrupted everyone's dining experience.

I had been to Barceló back in 2021 and had a better experience. This time I felt like the front desk was not really looking to help you in anything you ask. The pools were all very cold.

Another wonderful stay!
This was our 17th year with a group at the Barcelo Maya Palace. Workers remember us and there are lots of hugs upon arrival and departure. We love the large pools, the swim-up bar and the pool service. The food is very good . We have our favorite restaurants and dishes! The rooms are large and comfortable. We love swimming with the turtles. Dressel divers has a catamaran trip that departs from the resort pier . . . so no need to travel to a pick-up point. We love that there is no smoking around the pool, and no eating at the pool. So, no floating fries or debris or critters at the pools. The adult only pool is also a great place to relax in quiet surroundings. Walking the beautiful, landscaped grounds in the morning and in the evening is also a treat! Always feel safe too! Yes, it's a large resort but there is so much to do or you can choose to relax! We come with family and friends every October and again in the winter or spring as a couple. Love that we are assured a wonderful trip at a great price!
