Barcelona Maya Palace April Wedding vacation¹
The Barcelo Maya Palace offers a picturesque beachfront location that is well-regarded by many guests, along with comfortable rooms that boast scenic views. However, the hotel's service was excellent with a few shinning stars as Mayra Poot and Ismael Chen from the Coco pool bar and alll our freinds /staff always made everyday extra special fir our family and friends to the extent thst we have made them part of our extended family. Thank you for all the amazing service with a smile. While the resort's cleanliness and pool and activities made everyday an exciting pr relaxing experience. Thank you again for all the love and amazing efforts to keep up with ally family's extra special request. Thank Mayra and Chan love you guys

Average stay
5 night stay with children in Palace, with other families. Pros: clean beach and pool area - beautiful ocean with fish swimming around you. Enough pools and play areas for all ages children. Basketball, soccer and volleyball. Cons: Basic outdated rooms in Palace giving motel vibes. Beds were very uncomfortable. AC unit leaked, in-room safe did not work. Food choice at Buffets was basic and not good. We did not try the specialty dining as tough to get reservation for our larger party - Book in advance. We left the Barcelo Resort twice as we did not want to eat dinner at Resort. Hard to find beach chairs as people leave towels and belongings on chairs and are gone for hours. No access to pool side snacks such as Ice cream, fruit, light bites to eat.

Short of Expectations
A couple things we didn’t like about our stay where the resort could use an improvements. One was the music in the lobby and other areas. It was really depressing classical music everywhere we went. Even when upbeat music was played by the pool or evening, it was very dated stuff that no one really listens to anymore. The second thing we didn’t like was the lack of shows every evening. We didn’t see any good options to go to so it was a little boring in the entertainment part of our stay. Another thing we didn’t like is even though our premium level included room service, we couldn’t order anything besides soda and water. I couldn’t order coffee or alcoholic drinks to our bedroom and I didn’t see a menu for room service anywhere either. The next thing we didn’t like was that there weren’t enough staff walking around to offer drinks while we were in the lobby, breakfast, or by the pool. The 7 days that we were there, we spent most of our time by the pool/beach and had one person come up to us asking for drink orders one time. Other all inclusive resorts we have stayed at had multiple staff members constantly check in on us to see if we needed anything. We also had staff ask what we want at breakfast for drinks, we would tell them what we would like and they would just disappear and not come back with what we ordered. The last thing we didn’t like was some of the food options. Even though there were restaurants, we couldn’t get a reservation until our fourth night there. I also wish the buffets had more Mexican style dishes since I do love Mexican food and want to experience that while visiting Mexico. Otherwise the resort was very clean, beautiful, and most of the staff were nice. It was great to see that people mopped walkways every day and staff touched up areas needing paint everyday as well. Great resort but it could use a couple improvements to make the stay for some of the guests a more amazing experience especially guests that are paying for a premium level experience and getting a very average resort stay.

overpriced
Buffet was typical buffet food, but they didn't really stay on top of refilling food. You could make restaurant reservations but I've been there twice now and neither time was I able to get reservations for many of the nights and rarely before 9 pm. One reservation was 9:45 and then they rushed us to get out.

Would not return
slow check-in/out. Not enough chairs and shade. Spring breakers are annoying. Hard to get reservations
