  Absolutely amazing family trip!

  We had a family trip (2 kids under 5) + grandma (over 65) to barcelo palace. This was our second time here. We didn't leave the resort at all and had an absolutely amazing trip! The food was delicious- we ate at hacienda and mirador most meals and at rodizio, brassiere once each. There was so much variety and the quality was great. The staff at this resort is amazing- every server, bar tender, cleaner, etc. was so friendly and worked so hard to make the experience. Everyone was very accommodating of our big stroller and kids. The beach was amazing and the staff truly work hard to make it clean and seaweed free. We all had a blast and will likely be back! We stayed at another "kid friendly" resort last year and regretted not being at Barcelo Palace. We will absolutely be back! Thanks for a great trip.

  Family Vacation

  My only disappointment was that I paid for two rooms that were Oceanview suites and we were not in the same building. Also the large Oceanview suite was behind the pool instead of Oceanview.

  Sister trip 2026.

  Our trip was absolutely amazing. We throughly enjoyed everything. Eduardo and Esteban were outstandingly amazing. Attentive and friendly. Helped us navigate the grounds and helped us with everything. Very pleased with our overall experience.

  Absolutely Fantastic Resort.

  Hotel is absolutely massive and very luxurious. The food all around was amazing, significant selection for all meals from breakfast to dinner and the a la carte restaurants. The service and staff were top notch as always greeting, smiling and ready to assist. We have stayed at several all-inclusive resorts during the last 20 years but first time at a Barcelo Palace. This will not be our last as already planning next one! Well done Barcelo!

  Second time visiting Barcelo Maya Palace

  This was our second time visiting this resort, and once again, it did not disappoint. Check-in was efficient and smooth, and I absolutely loved the new wristband system that gives access to the room — no more carrying a room key card. Such a small change, but incredibly convenient. Our room was gorgeous. We were on the ground level with a beautiful view of the tropical surroundings, complete with birds and little critters that added so much charm to the experience. The room was a bit humid at times, but opening the balcony door while we were in the room definitely helped. One small suggestion would be adding some type of fan in the bathroom to help with humidity control. The mini fridge was always fully stocked with water, juice, pop, beer, and even snacks like chips and nuts, which we really appreciated. The in-room coffee was also surprisingly good. The only small thing I missed was the towel animals — we only had one setup on the last day, and the child in me still gets so much joy out of those little touches. Our first day at the buffet, the coffee wasn’t great (possibly a power issue or filter problem), and the buffet food overall was a bit hit and miss compared to our previous visit. I’m not a picky eater, but I did notice a change in quality and variety. That said, I also wondered if the resort is making efforts to reduce food waste, which I respect. The servers and food prep staff were always busy but consistently friendly, smiling, and welcoming. We were only able to secure two à la carte restaurant reservations, but I honestly didn’t mind — I could always find exactly what I wanted at the buffet for dinner, especially good meat and vegetable options. The dessert selection was excellent. I mostly chose healthier options like fruit, but when I did splurge on cake or ice cream, it was fantastic. We had so many wonderful staff interactions that truly made the experience special. Our favourite server was Filiberto Noh — always smiling, engaging, and genuinely interested in learning about Canada. He made such a personal connection with us, which we loved. Darwin Chan was also an excellent server at the Rodizio steak restaurant. At the Caribe seafood restaurant, we received excellent service from Alejandro Carrasco, Erick Valenzuela, and Carla Sosa. At the bars, Eddie at the swim-up bar at the Palace was wonderful, and Jose Gonzales greeted us every night at the lobby bar with warm, friendly, and excellent service. The grounds were always kept pristine, and the pools were consistently clean and well maintained. There were only a couple of days when finding a lounger was difficult. The beach was our absolute favourite place to relax — and swimming with sea turtles every day was truly unforgettable. This resort continues to deliver a beautiful experience, and the incredible staff truly make it special. We will absolutely be back again.
