Barcelo Colonial Dec 11-21 2025
We really enjoyed our stay at the resort. The restaurants had very good food and we were happy with how things tasted and the service was great. - The buffet was decent, but lacks variety. No salt and pepper on the tables, but you can ask for it. -Mini Golf was fun but there were lots of mosquitoes, bring repellent with you. - Colonial has key cards, I wish they used the RFID technology and placed it into the bracelets. - The beach is long, spacious and beautiful. But the rocks that hidding in the sandy water that you have to go through in order to get into the deep water is atrocious. So many rocks about 15 feet into the water, watch your toes! - Overall, great resort that could do small changes to be an amazing resort.

Great stay
We had a wonderful stay with family at Barcelo Maya Palace. I would especially like to thanks Iris for her sincere professionalism, helping me to swiftly deal with an issue. She is excellent at her job and I felt well taken care of because of her.

Vacation in the Sun
Barcelo Maya Colonial is a great resort for families. There is something for everyone. Grounds, including beach and pool areas are kept very well groomed and clean. Rooms may be a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Food and drinks are fresh and plentiful and there are choices for every palate. I would definitely return and would also recommend this resort. However, be advised that entering the ocean, water shoes are required, at least this year, as there are many large rocks and chunks of broken coral to get past. otherwise the beach is lovely.
