Shoutout to Buffet and Activities Staff
This is our third time traveling to the Barcelo maya hotel chain in Cancun. We stayed twice at riviera and this was our first at colonial and loved it. We received the same amenities and food as we would at riviera, although riviera is a little newer. We would like to highlight the wonderful buffet and activities staff that made our trip so memorable. Specifically Manuelito with the activities staff that made all of the activities very fun and engaging for everyone, especially the water aerobics. We also want to point out that the buffet staff at colonial and tropical was exceptional. Specifically Herlinda Lopez at Colonial. She was very nice and made sure to address our every need and want and we want to thank her for going above and beyond. All in all we plan to return here in the future and have great memories of all our trips here.

15th Visit and Still Enjoyable
Immaculate expansive grounds and beach. Great snorkeling and sailing, Delicious food with many eateries to choose from. My only suggestion is that management needs to provide more lounge chairs for the beach.

This was our 6th visit. We love the look and feel of this resort. Everything there is still beautiful. The staff is nice and welcoming too.

Too loud no sleep
Had no idea I would gave to stay awkake until 2am due to nightly entertainment. Not the place for you if you like to sleep. Also forget naps, our room was right beside the theater where they would practice for hours in rhe afternoons. People in our party also got sick.

Do not stay at Colonial!
The worst customer service at any all-inclusive resort I've ever been to! Maria at guest service is horrible! None of the staff ever picks up their phone so we couldn't order room service or get more towels.
