Nice resort with lots to do.
My first time to this large resort the tenth Mexican resort/hotel I've stayed at. This area is great, maybe just a little dated, but no problem. The room was quite nice. On 3rd floor, there is an elevator if needed. Compared to many resorts the lobby area doesn't wow you as you enter, nor did the exterior. But that didn't matter. It was easy to find my way around the resort. Short walk to pools and beach was just a short distance beyond. The very large well organized buffet wasn't far to walk back to either. Lots of food options well displayed and labeled. Near the mall, Sports bar area is the free WiFi, limited times. Or $45/wk...odd not free! Being there over Spring Break made it a bit busy due to many high school students! However with the virus issue there wasn't many around. There are so many pools you can use and plenty of loungers and hammocks. There is even a lap pool with 5 lanes, I think, that was great! On the beach you'll always find a lounger and shade from a palm tree. The restaurant's are really well done, modern stylish and strick on dress code, for once. You won't go hungry! Fine dining for sure. Besides not giving you the free WiFi, the other issues would be not having enough bartenders at the theater. Maybe a more detailed map showing where you get your towels for pools etc. and restroom locations. I found both easily enough. Yes there are many things that do cost extra but you don't need to leave the resort to enjoy some unique things. Sign up for a free sailboat ride, you'll love the changes in water colors! Few good areas for snorkeling, mostly from the pier towards Palace. Lots of long beaches for walking. Take a Collectivo to Playa del Carmen cheap easy get to Hwy they will take you for $3 or less each. Pay when yoy get off. Be sure you learn where to get the ride for returning to resort etc. Cross Hwy take one to Tulum, cheap, walk to ruins pay for tour guide..easy.
Wonderful experience for our first All-Inclusive resort
Our first visit to an all-inclusive resort was excellent, with great service, good food, and a relaxed feel to the resort. We stayed at a Premium-Level room with an ocean view. This made the visit more special with amenities and benefits that we thought were worth the up-charge. The room was spacious and well maintained. We had no real use for the balcony jaccuzi, but just sitting out there and looking at the palm trees and beach was terrific. The Beach-side shop "Piscina Beach" offered lots of items to enhance our visit. Sunscreen, swim goggles, beach balls and more. Both Mayra and Gisela in the store were so friendly and helpful which made our visit even more enjoyable!!!
The employees there are incredibly nice and always making sure my cousins were ok during the game :) all of them were so nice and the visit was amazing! I would 100%want to come back :) some of them that were so nice were, Paty, Jesi, Adri, Joni, lari, Cris, and Evelin! They are so nice to talk to!
This is our second time in the last 6 months, this place is fabulously-Perfecto and we can't get enough of it. The food and entertainment is awesome, the grounds are beautiful and the rooms are very clean! We will return in June if COVID-19 is no longer a threat.
Before I begin I wanted to thank the Barcelo Maya Caribe staff for all they have done. Excellent, Excellent. If your looking for a family resort this is the place. This is not a 5 star hotel but the service and staff made it feel like it was a 5 star hotel. The food, the beach, the salt water -- fantastic. We will go again. Quick example, the cold water wasn't work properly in the room, called the front desk within 30min issue resolved. Service man came in the room did his thing. Camera's everywhere this is a safe place if something goes wrong they know. Now for the bad, its not so much the hotels fault, but if you decide to go down during spring break your going to get the young kids who think they can party all night long and make noise. Well that stopped quickly, one phone call to the front desk and security put a stop to the noise. Lucky for us the boys, 3 rooms down from us were quickly set straight. So do not be alarmed keep calm just call the front desk and staff will take care of you. What I remember the most was the staff, the nice lady making my breakfast always with a smile (Celestina wonderful lady and cant forget about Maria ), room service (Sandra was her name, Fantastic lady) always fresh and clean. This is the place for me, went snorkeling for at least 3hrs a day, played basket ball, went on excursion (buy online, I went down with sunwing) -- Tour Guide Carlos was fantastic
