Gym is not well equipped and they won’t allow you to go all out on equipment. Minimal weight slamming and they calm you out!

it's not good for a young couple, no fun entertainment unless you go with kids or people 60 +. didn't like food there but the beach was clean and the room was very clean

Dec 22, 2025* Relaxing Vacation in a Beautiful Setting
We arrived a bit skeptical after reading some reviews, but after a week at the resort we found more things to like than to dislike. The location is beautiful, with clear water, and we swam every day. The beach is great, and they provide free water sports like catamaran sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and boogie boards. The hotel is old but very clean. It does need some maintenance—one elevator in our wing was out of service. During weekdays it was manageable, but on the weekend it was packed, with long wait times. In the bathroom, water leaked from the shower, so the floor was always wet. Other than that, the hotel was spotless. The buffet lacked variety, especially at breakfast and lunch. When we went later in the evening, many items were already finished. The buffet mainly caters to local food, and the same goes for the entertainment, which was mostly in Spanish. This makes sense since most guests are locals rather than American or Canadian travelers. As long as you’re aware of this and open to enjoying local culinary and cultural traditions, it’s fine. Being Barceló Premium helped a lot. We used room service often and ate dinner mostly at the Italian and seafood restaurants, which were much better than the buffet. The chair situation on the beach was another challenge. Even though we’re early risers, by 5:30 a.m. most chairs were already “reserved” with towels, even though no one was there. I had to wake up daily at 5:30 to get a spot. On our last day, the hotel finally put up a sign saying chairs would be removed after 2 hours if unattended—but by then it was too late . We booked a “7 Bays” excursion with locals from the beach, but it turned out to be more like 5 bays, plus fishing, dolphin watching, and snorkeling. It lasted about 5 hours. We enjoyed it and had lots . Drinks were honestly not good at all. I’m not much of a drinker, but even the beer wasn’t great. However, the Premium drinks were excellent—the best quality and selection we’ve ever seen. We stayed on the 6 th floor ,left side of the building, with a nice view. We couldn’t hear the waves at night; I believe the right side of the building is closer to the ocean. The beach itself is beautiful, but there is no beach service.at the chair on the beach .I brought water and beer from my room each day and was set. Food-wise, fruit selection was limited. Guava appeared only twice and disappeared quickly, replaced with vine fruit. Room service was fast and efficient—we ordered breakfast daily and lunch twice, and we were satisfied. You won’t starve, but you may miss having a wider food selection, especially at breakfast and lunch. It would have been nice to see more fresh fish or seafood during the day instead of just only chicken fajitas or beef. We did get seafood at dinner, in the restaurant though. Overall, if the price is right, I would return for the location and the staff. Even though some staff members have limited English, they are kind, hardworking, and always try to please guests—even those who are hard to please. I respect their effort and attitude. Thank you all.

Vacaciones excelentes
Desde el inicio hasta el fin todo estuvo estupendo. El personal es muy amable, las habitaciones muy comodas, los alimentos variados y deliciosos. El personal de animacion muy bien y las amenidades super.

Great experience.
Wonderful experience. Beautiful, isolated location. Clean, refreshing ocean. No complaints. Staff are very friendly, helpful.
