Wonderful family vacation. Enjoyed it better than the larger Ambar
Great trip, suggestions... If traveling with large family request confirmation of room assignment in advance otherwise they will seperate you all. You have to ask for wasthclothes each day. A tip left for the maid should be left on the night stand, a tip for the minibar service should be left on the fridge. I did not know this and the service bar person got the tip 4 days in a row, until I found out the difference, then made it up to the maid. For beach and ocean play sit as close to the ocean as you can, the further back you sit the more sand fleas. The bacon at the breakfast buffet was perfect everyday, I was able to find something to eat every day,. The guy making omlets did much better than the female. Be sure to give them a tip too. They will remember you. Yurta, was by far the best food there, and outstanding The Dirty Monkey and Banana Momma were the best frozen drinks and we had them daily . The beach service was incredible. The service was great at each resteraunt and bars, with the exception of the Sport Bar, they wit on who thy want to and leave you standing for 15-20 mins waiting to even order, moreso by teh guys than the girls. Can't wait to go back P.S. Alex, our Conceriege was AMAZING 10/10 and went out of his way to accomodate our every need... day after day. Be sure to use him when you have the opportunity.

Holiday
The hotel has it's good points and it's not so good, The staff are lovely, very professional and attentive, Our room is comfortable apart from a constant battle with the water, it's either no cold water and scalding hot, or freezing cold, the maintenance man has tried fixing it multiple times, we were offered a different room but it's too little too late when we've only got three days left. Most of the a la carte restaurants are great apart from the Greek and Thaino, poor service and awful food.

Worst experience ever on my Birthday
This Birthday vacation was the worse experience ever. I came with my husband, 2 kids, my mom and my father in law handicap. This was our 3rd time coming to Bahia príncipe. The first 2 in Fantasia with no issues at all. 1- while we were doing the check in the manager JESUS MORROBER was so pushy to do a Review for the hotel when we didn’t even finished the check in. He took our phones to put the wifi in to leave the Dam review. Which called our attention right away. I’ve never seen this before from any other service. Don’t get fool and leave a review before having your own experience. 2- the 2 rooms were so smelly like a cesspool, they blame the rain. The house keeper also realized from the smell. We complain about it and the manager didn’t do anything at all. He supposed to give us another room the next day. No one call us the next day to let us know that the room was ready. The same day appears COCKROACHES one in the first room in the bathroom and 2 in the room #2 in the bed and couch, TERRIBLE!! 3- NO Ac or Heat vent Filters, visible electrical wires hazard hanging . In both Rooms. Unsafe Disgusting experience for my family and kids, in the day of my Birthday . I have all the proof videos and photos !

Amazing Group Vacation!!!
This is our 3rd visit in the last 4 years and typically a group of 7. This year, our group expanded to 16 people with this being the first time for half the group. We booked a private shuttle with Land Transfers RD and they were waiting for us as usual, with water and beer. We arrived at Fantasia and were quickly taken by trollies to Esmeralda, where we were greeted with cold towels and welcome drinks. The front desk staff were quick with checking us all into our 7 rooms in block 90, as we requested weeks prior. We were in the pool with an hour after arriving and our group vacation officially started with drinks lol. Since we’ve been here before, everything was familiar so we knew what to expect. However, we were disappointed that the main buffet was closed for the week and Caicu, near the beach was open instead. Food selection seemed limited or maybe it was just volume, but we did miss the AC in the main buffet. We had a la carte’s booked in advance and enjoyed them all, especially Yurta which we had twice. A very special shoutout to Wilmer in guest services, who took care of every detail from day 1. He really made our vacation stress free and continuously checked up on us to make sure we had no issues. Marcos and 3 other ladies always greeted us with smiles and hugs every morning. They were amazing and always took care of us and getting our table ready. Amazing bartender Alberto at the pool bar, was like the 17th member of the group and joined in the fun when he could Alexis and Yari at the pool loungers were equally amazing, always making sure we were taken care of. Too bad I can’t remember the names of the guys who drove us around the resort and al la carte restaurants, but they were super friendly and joined in the fun as we yelled “Holaaa” to everyone we passed 😊. Normally, we are ready to get back home at the end of the week, but this time we were sad to leave. We will definitely be back with a larger group next year. A couple of disappoints though and I hope management can take this as constructive feedback. The pool entertainment staff was different this year and weren’t as good as the previous year. A few games only catered to a small group of people playing darts and bingo and did not engage the rest of the people in the pool. In previous years, all the games chosen were entertaining to everyone in the pool. As previously mentioned, the main buffet was closed and this was a disappointment. We found out the last day that the main buffet would be open, so that was a bummer to have missed that.

This hotel is conning its guests - AVOID
We were a returning couple who had an amazing time in this resort, staying at the Bahia Pricipe Luxury Esmerelda in May this year. However fast forward to September 23 and it was totally different: 1. 50% of the 20+ A La Carte restraunts shut 2. Bars permenantly shut or on reduced hours. 3. Esmerelda buffet restraunt closed only leaving the beach restraunt open to the guests, 20% of choice vs the Carney Buffet, food ravaged by flies & bugs. My wife refused to eat there. The guests at the Esmerelda cannot eat at any other hotel in the resort, leaving no-where indoor to eat other than the Sports bars (1 of those was closed). Awfull lot of money to eat chicken wings 3 times a day. 4. 1st room offered, Air-con & safe broken, bathroom smelled. Took the front desk most of the 1st afternoon to move us to a suitable room. In the end I had to force them to relocate into our previous room. 5. Limited entertainment. 6. Food poising from the A la Carte restraunt (The Greek). Uncooked pork led to one of our friends spending a couple of days in a serious condition in hospital 7. Bearing in mind we paid full price for this holiday, this place is conning its guests, if you have booked to go, take my advise change hotels or even destination. We will never go back to the Dominican again due to this experience. Pretty much everyone we spoke to felt the same. The above is a shame as the resort was great previously however due to decisions made by management has made a lot of people never return to this lovely island. Guy Dobson
