Would come back!
The resort was clean and expansive. There were 9 of us (2 yr old, 8 yr old plus 7 adults). Service was excellent and pool options were great. We loved the quiet pool the best. Beach was fantastic, just look out for the rocks! Food truck has the absolute best food — the Al pastor tacos and buffalo chicken wings gave us life! We ate them 4/7 days. The lunch buffet wasn’t our favourite but the al la carte restaurants made up for it. The Indian restaurant was our favourite.

There are many better resorts for comparable prices
Food is generally average to poor. Good luck booking an a la carte restaurant as booked solid for most of our stay. Could not get any beach towels for the majority of times we tried - even if requested in the morning. We had an issue getting accurate information regarding a refund that was due to us on when and where it was processed to. It took at least 25 emails/ requests to finally get it resolved. Contact with the resort directly is extremely hard to do without calling the actual Mexican phone number of the resort. There is no 1-800 number for contacting the hotel directly, so very expensive to reach them if needed. We will not return as there are many resorts that offer much better quality of accommodation, food and amenities.

Beach is gorgeous and kids obsessed with the kids club
For us, theeeeee most amazing part of this hotel was the kids club. Seriously, I was shocked when our velcro kids asked to go everyday (for almost the entire day!). It gave hubby and I an unexpected relaxing vacation. Even now at home, they’re still talking about it. For those wondering about swimming at the beach (cuz that was important to us and the reviews were confusing)- the beach is gorgeous if you know where to go! We went at the end of Nov to early Dec and had no seaweed at all. Don’t go to the beach in front of the main pool. That part of the beach is narrow and looked super rocky/lots of coral and not good for swimming. We went to the beach directly in front of grand tortuga a la carte doors (close to the kids swimming areas). It’s a bit rocky when you get right in but then it’s just soft sand and clear water for a huge stretch. Bath temp water. We didn’t use water shoes. At the end of our holiday, the waves were super gentle and our 5 and 6 yo were able to stand and play in the water several meters out. We did not see the beach by the quiet pool on the other side of the property. Kids water slide area was thoroughly enjoyed by our 5 and 6 yo. We tried Coba’s water playground one day and they didn’t like it much. Said it was for babies lol. The bigger slide at coba was fenced off so that may affect their opinion. Food was edible but not amazing. A la made it fun for the kids over the buffet. Rooms were musty and a bit worn down but wasn’t a game changer. Overall we would consider going there again!!
