Terrible experience
We are currently staying at this hotel, and our experience has been nothing short of a disaster. We arrived on Sunday and were given a room with no cold water and a completely non-functional AC. After fully unpacking, we were abruptly told we needed to move to another room. The “new” room turned out to be even worse. The toilet is leaking nonstop, and within minutes the entire bathroom floor turns into a huge puddle. Every morning we wake up to water all over the room, making it nearly impossible to even step into the bathroom without slipping. It’s disgusting and completely unacceptable. What’s even more infuriating is the hotel’s response: four days of reporting the issue, chasing staff, and being given empty promises. Maintenance comes, acknowledges the problem, and then nothing happens. No fix. No follow-up. No solution. Just excuses. This has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience, and the lack of responsibility from management is shocking. We expected at least basic functioning facilities and proper customer service — we have received neither.

Go somewhere else
I have never made a bad review so this took a lot. We had a fun time at the pool and the staff at the pool bar was great but everywhere else the service was terrible. Our air conditioning didn’t work and no one would listen. I asked to switch rooms more than 5 times until my boyfriend asked and they did it right away. Even when the switched us the AC was still not very good so be prepared to be hot. We also woke up at 6am one morning to our ceiling pouring water. We were on the first floor, so I don’t know what that was but extremely gross. We called to let them know and they said they’d send someone right away and we stayed in our room for at least an hour and no one showed up so we left. Still don’t know if that was fixed or if they just mopped up all the water. Also, our key cards stopped working at least once a day so we would have to walk back to the lobby to get them fixed. As for the staff at the restaurants, it was extremely difficult to get drinks. No one wanted to serve us water and it seemed to be a universal experience. Tables would get skipped. We eventually started going up ourselves and pouring our own water from the jugs. Our experience was not great, worse than any other resort we’ve been to. I would definitely not recommend it here, you should spend your money somewhere else.

Family Vacation/Bday celebration
Gave it a 3 star because of the staff and food. We went for my aunt bday celebration it was a big group we had about 25 rooms. They provided me with a room which the AC wasn’t working and it smelled like dirty rags. The room felt like it had not been occupied in forever. I called reception and they send someone to fix the AC and sent someone to spray the room like it just needed an air freshener. I went to the bathroom it was dirty. I called the reception again and asked to please change my room. They were hesitant at first and then agreed to do so. They took me to the second room the AC seemed to be working and it had just been cleaned so it was fine. In the night the AC went into fan mode and the room never got cold again. When I woke up the next morning and opened the bathroom door it smelled like sewage and rust from underneath the sink was on the floor. We asked for someone to come and check it out. They cleaned it up but the smell and AC never got fixed. What made the stay better was the staff within the hotel and the food was good, but the hotel itself needs some major renovations in the rooms.

The best vacations
My time at this hotel was excellent and a lot of fun. The entertainment team—Joelmi, Katy, Genesis, and Luis—were among the best. We plan to return to experience the same enthusiasm and warmth we felt with them. Thank you to everyone who made our stay beautiful and unforgettable.

Grand El Portillo
I and my whole family had a great experience at Grand El Portillo in Las Terrenas, beach and swimming pool were excellent the weather super. I just had an incident, one of the drivers of Otium transportation almost ran, I and my family over by the horse statue in the night of October 16th fortunately there were not injuries people and I reported the incident to the right people in charge of that besides that everything was excellent. Also I want to mention few people that treated us like kings and queens from El limón Buffet Yajaira Jones and Stephanie and from SPA Esther Fermin, Yesenia Jones and Elsa Moya. They are all professional, but I just wanted to mention this 5 people. Thanks.
