Best resort in Mexico
Bahia Principe riviera maya is the best resort in Mexico that I have been to. Beautiful surroundings. Wonderful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Ala carte restaurants are fabulous. Especially LaGourmet and Portofino

Unsatisfied with front desk staffs
Left Coba today. Overall, we had an amazing time — the food was great and the driver, Fernando, was very kind and professional. However, our experience with the reception staff was extremely disappointing. The team at reception was consistently rude and disorganized. Each person gave us different information, which made it impossible to rely on them for anything. I had made a special request in advance for my daughter’s birthday, but unfortunately, it was completely ignored. Additionally, I requested that my room be located close to my sister’s, and I was assured that everything would be arranged accordingly. However, the arrangement was changed without notice, and an excuse was given instead not even a ‘Sorry’ from them. There were several other issues throughout our stay, which I will outline in detail in an email to be submitted to the appropriate department for further review. I had to called multiple times to follow up, and every time I was met with attitude and indifference. I strongly recommend that the reception staff — including Juliet, Miriam, Irazu, Alejandro, Ana, Cinthya, and others whose names I don’t remember — receive proper training on how to communicate consistently and treat guests with respect. They were unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome, which is unacceptable in a hospitality setting. This part of the experience left a bad impression and really took away from what could have been a flawless visit. I appreciate your attention to this matter, as I intend to escalate this matter. Little advice to the front desk; ‘A smile requires no expense, but its impact can be significant to the tourist. Thank you.

Wonder First Family Affair 🥰
We had such a great belated honeymoon experience at Bahia Principe Punta Cana in March that we returned less than two months later, this time to Grand Coba and with our family. This resort is noticeably larger and a bit less walkable, but that didn’t take away from the fun. It still had the relaxed, tropical feel we were looking for. The housekeeping team was fantastic. Our room was always spotless, and staff were kind and professional throughout our stay. Everyone we met around the resort made us feel welcome. While the main lobby was under renovation, it didn’t affect our stay at all. On our last day, the construction fences were removed, and we got to see the nearly finished space and it looks beautiful. We appreciated that English was widely spoken, and communicating with staff was never a problem. Even though half the property is being refurbished, it honestly didn’t impact our vacation. Everything felt organized and accessible. We’d especially like to recognize some amazing team members who made our trip more memorable. At the buffet for breakfast and lunch, Aure and Karina greeted us warmly each morning and even remembered us from previous days. It made us feel at home. Their friendly and consistent service stood out. The buffet food for breakfast and lunch itself was tasty, although less varied day-to-day compared to the Punta Cana location (different everyday). At the Tequila Restaurant, Alfredo had such a fun, charming personality. We also want to recognize the other staff at the taco and fruit stations... though we didn’t catch all their names, they were friendly, approachable, and easy to talk to. The tacos were delicious and felt genuinely authentic. Le Gourmet was another standout. The service from Jesus was attentive and professional, and the food was top quality. At Nikkei Mashua, we had our best meal of the trip. Every dish was outstanding, and Angel provided excellent service. This restaurant was a clear favorite for our entire group. Our son loved the water park and played in it every day as it was one of the highlights of his trip. The beach, however, was a bit rocky and rough compared to Punta Cana. Not the resort’s fault, just something to be aware of if you’re traveling with young kids. We also had a great experience with Amstar, the resort’s tour partner. David helped us with our airport transfer and gave thoughtful recommendations. When we mentioned that Xcaret was a bit over our budget, he suggested Xel-Há, which turned out to be a perfect day trip for our family. This was a special vacation for many reasons. It was our children’s first trip ever, and my husband’s first time traveling with his parents in nearly 20 years. The kids had a blast, and the grandparents enjoyed every minute with them. We’re already dreaming about our next Bahia Principe getaway. Maybe we’ll come back to Grand Coba again, or try a new destination like Bahia Principe Jamaica. Thank you to the entire team at Grand Coba for helping us create such wonderful memories!

opinion about the hotel stay
I would give 4* for my stay in Coba, but Yuli, Ami, Cynthia, Azul from the Mini Club raise my rating to 5*. We travel around the world, but we have never met such good animators. A wonderful program for children, brilliant evening performances with children in the leading role! Minus for the cleaning staff, they stole two iPhone chargers. The floor in the main pool needs renovation. The air conditioning on the top floors makes it very difficult to sleep, but they changed our room, so it was ok. Also minus for the ladies who took families to their table in the main restaurant. They always led as far away from the food as possible. The guy from the animators who went with us on a bike trip - very positive, hence the higher rating!
