Bahia Principe Aquamarine was lovely
We stayed in building 71 directly across from the lobby (2) and it was ideal. If you walked through the lobby it brought you to the swimming pools. The beach was about a 15 min walk from our room. We had a ground floor room since hubby's knees aren't that great. Unfortunately, they had a boiler issue and we had about 4 days of cold water to shower with but other than that the room was very comfortable and we only experienced one night of hearing people outside on the walk way. The bartenders in the lobby were great, there names were Francisco, Luis, Andy (very funny), Derlyn and Eddie. Francisco and Luis served us mostly. The beach was beautiful but because of the stormy weather there was a lot of seaweed being washed up. The grounds crew really tried their best in clearing it though. The al a carte's were quite enjoyable and I would say that El Olivio and Flame were our favourite. We weren't keen on the Brazillian only because it was too much food. The buffet was very good - maybe a couple more staff was needed to clear tables more quickly and to set the tables are needed. We wanted to sit out one morning and 6 tables were dirty with dishes and so we had to sit inside. All in all, we would come back again.

BEST Dominican stay - Beautiful hotel, amazing food & restaurants - beach/room was spotless!
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel in October. We have been to Dominican 8 times but this was the first in Aquamarine and it was one of our most favourite hotels we have been to in the Dominican. The grounds and pool areas are spotless! Could always find a space on the beach or around the pool. Main pool is lovely and a nice temperature and the swim up bar is a nice size. The quiet pool with jacuzzis was a lovely touch and often enjoyed a quiet morning here. The food in all of the restaurants including the buffet was superb! Loved the Indian and steakhouse the best but it was hard to pick. We also had a romantic dinner in the Mediterranean on our wedding anniversary. The golf buggy’s were a nice touch also, as it’s such a huge resort it was nice to hop on and get a little around. Hotel room was kept spotless and the jacuzzi bath was great, we went in most mornings. On arrival for our anniversary we were greeted with a bottle of fizz and a fruit platter which was a lovely touch. When we first checked in we were very disappointed to be greeted with two beds (instead of one king) and a white wall and no plants as the balcony view. However, they were very nice very helpful at reception and we got moved instantly and the next room was wonderful, by the main reception and in a quiet peaceful spot. Credit to the reception team for being super helpful and for all of the resort staff, including the cleaners - all are delightful. A 5/5 stay for us and our family - would definitely return and stay again. Thank you!

Bahía Príncipe grand Aquamarine - nothing grand about this hotel, too big of a complex had
Not right on beach as had to walk through another part of complex or use golf buggy around grounds, lots of seaweed can’t remember it being that bad last year, I wished I’d gone back to Rui palace as seemed lot less overcrowded. Rooms were a nice size not very good Tv channels for English and not any usb sockets or many plug sockets around the room could do with updating

Help!
My boyfriend and I are both students, and we saved for a long time to be able to afford a trip in February 2026. This trip means so much to us because it would be my boyfriend’s very first time traveling outside of the country. Unfortunately, we recently found out that my boyfriend now needs regular blood transfusions, and he has to receive one during the exact dates we booked. This was completely unexpected and out of our control. We paid for the trip in advance, and we are not asking to cancel—only to change the dates so we can still take the trip when his health allows. We booked through Expedia, but they have refused to work with us, even after we offered to pay a change fee. The hotel has also refused to help us directly. As students, this money represents months of saving, and losing it would be devastating. We are feeling really defeated and unsure of what to do next. If anyone has advice, guidance, or has been through something similar, we would be incredibly grateful. We worked so hard for this trip and just want a fair chance to take it.

Adults only section should be consistently monitored. Beach bar staff need to be addressed.
Aquamarine beach bar staff (Joslyn and Rigo) are ignorant and rude. Adults only section - although no one is watching over it so guests of the other sections invade your space (with kids) and remove loungers. It got so bad we had to have security come to the beach to ask them to move but it didn't last long, security didn't stay so it was just a rotating door of guests that didn't pay to be in the adults only section. They even took the loungers down the beach on a daily basis. Not being managed well. Check in is at 3 yet our room still wasn't available. Finally at 5 on our 3rd attempt we got another room assigned to us but we had to ask for a supervisor. We had been travelling for 16 hours and expected a room at 3. Had issues with the room maintenance, broken tap and door lock but didn't want to have to move again. Restaurants were great. Noise wasn't the hotels fault, just ignorant guests. The beach is beautiful and overall it can be a decent value depending on what you pay but they need to get a handle on the adults only sections, timely check ins, and do some updating.
