    BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE

To preface this- I never write negative reviews and I am on e of those people that always finds the good stuff. But I have to share because I'm that appalled. Just got home from a week at Bahia Principe Fantasia Punta Cana — and I have never been more disgusted with a resort in my life. First, they forced us into an hours-long timeshare presentation with the promise of a $160 spa credit — only to turn around and refuse to honor it at checkout. We even tried to use it at the spa during our stay, and they reassured us it would be deducted at reception. Lie. Second, our bathroom flooded TWICE from the room upstairs. I have video proof. All our stuff got soaked — and even after we reported it, they refused to move our room. They told us not to worry, that reception would “compensate” us for the damage and inconvenience. Another lie. At checkout, they refused to take a penny off the bill. Third, last night at 1–2 AM, the smoke alarms went off and woke everyone up, with no explanation and no apology. Just another disaster to top off an already miserable stay. The staff at reception was rude beyond belief unless you were handing them a tip — and even then, it was a gamble. Concierge made promises they didn’t keep. Trying to get any real help from anyone through email? Good luck. I’ve never seen such a blatant disregard for guests once they have your money. Beds are uncomfortable, room Was dirty, drinks are incredibly watered down. The only staff who truly deserve praise are the wonderful girls working at the Kids Club — they were the only bright spot of this entire experience. Sweet, patient, and genuinely good with the children. Oh, and for the record, we tipped over $800 USD during our stay — and still got treated like garbage. So grateful we didn’t fall for their timeshare scam and sign our lives away to this hellhole. Never again.

    Could be better

CONS -Dirty bedding sheet -be careful on the trolley, they are not checking surroundings only assuming, i had two accidents when the cart start moving while I’m getting on with my baby. And I saw one accident as well. -If you are using a high chair at the buffet, watch out the waitress just coming and taking it for other customers, and not paying attention that it’s been taken , we lost our highchair two times while picking the food up and once our table was just given to someone else at all. Make sure you put one of the personal items at the highchair. -be careful on the trolley, they are not checking surroundings only assuming, i had two accidents when the cart start moving while I’m getting on with my baby. And I saw one accident as well. The drivers are not paying attention at all. -Something like aroma bag stuck in AC which doesn’t give an aesthetic look to the room. -no elevator , guests with strollers must request first floor - no fresh fruits served thorough the day which is very upsetting, you can get them only when buffet is open or a very small variety like apple, banana, pear at the pool bar very - It’s a big series of hotels which makes beach / pool near the beach very crowded , I believe it’s 6 hotels. PRONS - The resorts had a beautiful water parks, amazing for families with kids. -the beach was nice and clean -the pool had a great entertainment for adults and kids -the food at the restaurant was good however kids section had too much salt and spice for the little once -we had a great experience at each à la carte restaurant Overall not bad but the hotel should do better. Definitely not going to come back but hotel has its prons/cons like any other hotel. Worth trying.

Amazing family stay – even better the second time!

We just returned from a 5-day (4-night) stay at Bahia Fantasia, and we absolutely loved it! This was our second time here – we came back after 3 years because our daughter had such great memories. We usually try new places, but this time we returned, and we’re so glad we did. The staff truly make this place special – kind, welcoming, always smiling, and especially great with kids. By the second day, many recognized us and greeted us like old friends. We mostly used the buffet (with two kids it’s just easier) and everything was tasty, fresh, and well-prepared. We never had any issues, and dinner was always a highlight with a huge variety. There’s something for everyone – even on the beach you can grab a fresh coconut or pineapple with rum for just $5. Our 13-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son both had an amazing time. We don’t understand the negative reviews – this place is wonderful, and we were treated so well. We always tip the staff because they truly deserve it. Highly recommended for families – we’re already thinking of coming back again!

Good for kids for would never go back.

The disappointments: 1. At check-in, the agent kept scanning our passports the wrong page until we told him what to do. He did not speak English or French for communication, wasting SO much time that we had to cancel our restaurant reservation. It was extremely unprofessional and a shame for a hotel at this price tag. 2. The room we got had bathroom door locked, the safe broken, and my bracelet stopped working everyday until being reset. From the room, we could hear all the neighbors, having a hard time resting or sleeping. 3. Kids club staff do not speak English or French, impossible for the kids to communicate with them, so we did not feel safe leaving the kids there. 4. Out of 9 days, our room was only cleaned 4 times. Twice we had to ask the cleaning lady specifically. She never smiled or tried to be nice until we gave a big tip. We did not mind spending money, but feeling that is the only way to get basic service is terrible. 5. Transportation was booked directly through hotel with coming2. They waited at the wrong resort reception, resulting us waiting for extra 30min, and dropped us at the wrong terminal. We travel a lot and have been more than 10 different resorts around the world, but this stay is the worst so far. The facility is not at all for a high-end resort. The bright side is that the pools are large and clean, perfect for kids. The food is better than most of the resorts we have been if you enjoy seafood. Most workers there are nice except the one checked us in and the cleaning lady we got. The shows are better quality than other resorts we stayed.
